  Great News. But I think this was announced in RaajaNGAHM sometime back....Actually they have the trust invitation which explains this, and motives of the trust..and finaly signed by IR himself.

  Fantastic news! This is what I would wish IR continue to do. More personal and private albums that brings to our people our rich heritage lying unknown to many of us because no one really knew how to help people appreciate those cultural treasures. If the Maestro can dedicate his efforts to non-film works, then Maestro can definitley find many fulfilling avenues in interpretation or presentation of such many aspects of our cultural heritage. (already, IR has done some for Bharathi' poems, then Indian 24 Hours, then there are fusion albums for flute and classical violin) Thank you , Maestro.

  Thiruvasagam, singing the praise of Lord Shiva, is being made in Tamil and English for the first time,
  in symphonic music. There would be 100 artistes from Hungary who will participate in this.
  
  Thiruvasagam was written by Manickavasagar and was described thus 'those who do not move
  emotionally to Thiruvasagam will not move for anything else' (meaning stone-hearted). It was
  translated into English by a British named G.U.Pope, who was so fond of Tamil, that as per
  his wish, his cemetry was inscribed with the words 'a Tamilian sleeps here'.
  
  IR is bringing it in Tamil and English for the first time. He will be joined by 100 artistes from
  the Hungarian Symphony group.
  
  It will be made into a CD with 60 mts playing time and the work is about to start soon. In this
  CD, Thiruvasagam will be sung in Tamil first, followed by the English translation, so that
  foreigners can also understand and appreciate it.
  
  IR's friend Dr Amuthakumar has told that Kanchi swamigal has told once that IR will give
  Thiruvasagam in the form of symphony, which is happening now really.
  
  IR has instituted a Trust for Tradional Music, Art and Culture. This CD is produced on
  behalf of the Trust

  Venkatesh, some subtleties missed in the translation - verbatim it is - 'the english version of it will be in the background in the same tune concurrently with the tamil singing' . IR has done something like this with sanskrit slokam and its tamil version. But they are not exactly done concurrently. I am not sure how good the reporting is. But it is quite possible IR will interleave tamil/english together with tamil having a very carnatic style and the english sorta WCM/ICM mix. This is my suspicion.
  If you guys are into parallel processing/multi-threaded programming you will understand that IR does its equivalent in music. This is his signature - two or more melodies playing simultaneously, almost every song of his will have this atleast for a few seconds.

  Going by Kiru's posting I got this brilliant idea for IR. Next thing he can release a CD named 'Learn any Indian Language from Any other Indian Language in 21 days'. He can have 26 Indian languages in the background concurrently with Tamil in the foreground. Tamil says 'ANil' then after a small interleave comes telugu 'aNilu' and then oriya, bengali etc. This way IR would have done a great service to the nation.

  I like your idea.It's both creative and productive.He can produce a unique tune/rhythm/sound for each word or a sentence.
  Since we all know he composes super fast, he can do it effortlessly.A musical approach to learning language would be a good way to integrate left and right brain.
  
  Later this approach can be carried over to languages like C++ and Java.Since IR is already doing the musical equivalent of multi-threaded programming consciously/unconsciously it would be a piece of cake for him to compose a theme to explain quite complex ideas too.
  
  I can't think of anything else that gives creative satisfaction and productivity.It's like having the cake and eating it too.

I mean is it like having 'chitheRumbu kadikkudhu', 'palaanadhu Odathu mElE', 'ponmEni uruguthE' from one thread and 'thiruvaasagam' in the other thread or thiruvaasagam interleaved and concurrently done with SJanaki's mukkal munagals?
