>>>"Rahman is fantastic. His music is so beautiful, and I believe what he is writing is so far ahead of the game that we could be talking about the future of musicals for a very long time."
Just as pop music needed new influences from world music, so musicals need fresh infusion from other continents, he says. "I thought when the Iron Curtain came down that it would come from Russia. It didn't. Now, I'm sure that it is coming from India.
"I really look on Rahman as someone I can pass the mantle on to." <<<<
Hope this would settle doubts about the world-class quality of our elite TFMians...and quell scoffers when I had mentioned the same...:)

Logically, this is the right moment when discrediting of Lloyd Webber is supposed to start.
So guys start digging up some dirt on Lloyd Webber and nullify his statements.
If there is no dirt on him then atleast make a statement like "he is another mediocre composer" or how he is inferior in his work or "His Evita sucks" and so on.

As somebody mentioned before, I think there exists a link somewhere on the web saying "Do you have a question for A.R.Rahman. Post it here". That can explain why people post their extremely 'personal'
queries to ARR and only in this thread. Can't the Admin of the this site do something so that they would get a 'page not found' error when someone tries to post from outside the forum.

Trend, i dont think the name calling will happen when it is ALW. all the misfortune and discredits in this forum are exclusively reserved for ARR . why would the great tfm community defame outsiders when they have the best ( worst ?) thing to bash up whenever and where ever they want ? it is not ALW's fault if he decided to work with ARR..but it is the " marketing of the mediocre " by ARR . just makes me think - what will happen when arr is not in the music scene ..where will the experts of this forum who give fundas ad infinitum on rock, pop, beats , genre, arrangement ,recording, style , IRs genius, mediocrity etc go ?
the striking feature of the tamilians have to be evident everywhere ..bring down the other tamilian with what ever it takes..!

Dear Common Friends, :)
This may be unrelated to the current discussion topics, but i think it MUST NOT go unnoticed that ARR has brought variety to the music industry in general, particularly to the tamil film industry. He has given starving but talented artists a chance.
But for him, we would have two-ok, may be four!-singers monopolizing the industry! And he certainly has an uncanny ability to pick the perfect voice for each song. And every other so-called music director comes along and manages
to mess it up royally, although i am sure they think they are being very clever having a different singer sing each song. Ok, let me
not go around trashing other Music Directors, that's not exactly fair. I am sure it takes a lot of work to be a Music Director, period.
The point is that ARR deserves to be commended a thousand times over for setting that one trend alone.
P.S: BTW, MUST we constantly compare one artist to another(specifically, IR with ARR)....it's like saying "oh, there are no more great actors like Sivaji or Kamal!". It's this dwell-on-the-past mentality and unattainable standards that keeps great artists from growing professional and the audience from growing culturally! Each artist is unique in their own right and it dont make much sense to compare apples and oranges...
