comparing IR with others...r u agree

Hey guys nowdays everyone do underestimate about IR capability in way comparing with other musicions... Exspecialy in Malaysia ...
Whats your opinion.....???

  Maybe in Malaysia. In this forum, nobody compares IR with anybody else. Or for that matter, anybody with anybody else. That is why I like this forum:-)

  There is nothing wrong in comparing Ilayaraja with other Music Directors, but the fact always remain that HE (Ilayaraja) remains at a superior place for ever, due to various reasons. The fact as to why we are discussing today about music, is created by Ilayaraja. Never before in the Tamil Film world, so much importance is created or given to a Music Director. I do not think in the early days, people used to consider Music Director as an important factor for the success or popularity of the movie. But, IR had made his presence and he was trend-setter. Ilayaraja will always hold this credit, that no newcomers can claim.
  
  HE IS THE ONLY ASIAN composed symphony for Royal Philormonic Orchestra. No one else can claim this credit. Comparison always happens when something you feel is not upto the mark and you want to validate its strength. So you always compare it with the BEST. Thus, Ilayaraja is the BEST to compare.

  I have been reading your comments in many of IR's discussion pages, but I wonder what is your point. We all know that IR does not seem to be keen about releasing his symphony, but it is a fact that he did compose it. We, IR fans including me hold him at high esteem because of the enjoyment we have had over the years listening his music and his evolution from a team of street troup in village to the one of the admirable accomplishments, he has made, atleast in South India. The fact that he was invited to compose Symp. itself is an accomplishment of grand magnitude. You will find in the west that numerous symps. of many talented musicians (past and present) went nowhere because of many difficulties in copyright, PR and marketing ! I do not know whether he has difficulties or not, so I can't speak for that.
  
  Sure, your favorite Deva may be on the same track may be one day release a Symp. or something else. But introduce us to some of his "original" music that is different in style and composition from any of the previous musicians, and make your point by quoting specific songs/interludes. This may help us learn the creativity ot potential of Deva or others, if we do not know it already ! All of us can enjoy something different and original, if it is !

  May be we can compare IR with others..MSV with others..ARR with others..adn etc.. in a manner that is acceptable to all and not through this uncourteous way. These anonymous entities are just hurting others. Sadism , IMO is not welcome in this forum. I hope I am right in expressing this on behalf of editors - sorry if I am talking too much, but I couldn't just tolerate this kind of torture. Please maintain the decorum.

  RPA won't invite any Tom, Dic & Harry to compose the symphony. One needs to have lot of credentials in the music to get such opportunity and IR has got it. However, not releasing it does not affect his credentials. I am sure, had IR born in any of the Western countries, he would have certainly become somebody like BACH. Because people like you are around in our country, he can never reach that
  stage. Take for example, Zubin Mehta - he is one of the Best Conductors of Music - even Westeners admit this fact (eventhough he is american citizen, he is still from Indian origin). Anyway, you can never appreciate good things because of your Devadi Deva's attitude.

  So you are the spokesman for RPO. Good! Hearken all ye IR fans, if RPO had indeed given IR an opportunity to compose a symphony then it shows how egalitarian the British society is that it wants to take cognizance of even Pannaipuram. However, that is not a record in itself. Had (y)our IR had given the symphony, to us, I will also join you to share your happiness. Also, Jana, I think you are totally naive regarding what is known as lobbying. Lobbying is done everywhere, right from Capitol Hill to Lok Sabha to get things working. Even recently, TN's Amma got a Ph.D (honoris causa ) in the US. Wherever Tamilians are, they will try to lobby for their heros. That is quite natural. Likewise IR would have got a chance. But after composing, RPO would have seen that the symphony is not upto the world standards that they would have got a "Dindigul Lock" from Pannaipura Rasa for his symphony.
  
  Our Thenisai Thendral Sir, is playing symphony, each day, in millions of Tamil hearts all around the world. Right from Vividh Bharathi to Ceylon Radio, it is Devathi Deva's flag that is flying high and not IR's. IR - PAST; Deva - PRESENT and Deva Alone -- FUTURE.

  Deva can do a Symphony in just a day's time, why you know, I need not tell everyone including you knows the fact...
  
  But for real great people to come up with a symphony it takes years together, Well you are not able to appreciate the fact or not able to belive its up to you, but don't disregard IR's work by making critical remarks on his symphony.

  I have read many of your posts and have admired your stance regarding 'idol (idle) worshippers' of IR or ARR as the case mey be, in this forum. I am almost convinced that YOU ARE NOT A FAN OF DEVA AT ALL. It is just that you have chosen the 'role' of a Deva Fan to counter the 'n' number of hard core IR or ARR Fans, MANY (not all) of whom feel the compulsion to justify their liking/fanfare based on fairly illogical/incorrect/exaggerated opinions/assumtions/facts. Keep it going! I enjoy your posts! NO! Not even for one moment do I believe that Deva is a MD worthy of mention (but then you don't believe that either, do you?)

  Still, I will try to explain what I meant. To be frank, his first paragraph had something called "kOrvai" in tamil. To put it bluntly, even though he was deriving his successive statements from his primary assumption that "RPO would have seen..diNdigul lock..", there was a continuity ( say compatibility between his statements).
  
  but when he made the gross assumption of Deva playing melodies in the hearts of tamils, I started to laugh (especially Deva = present , Deva = Future :-)) I just felt that those statements were far more deliberate than the first paragraph's. I have a gut feeling that DD is making the statement just to make us believe that he IS a dEva fan. This is just like "engappa kudhirukkuL illai".
  
  DD, neenga enna intentionOda intha discussions "i" aarambichcheengannu theriyalai. I think you have achieved your objective :-) (whatever it is - either establishing yourself as a fan of Deva or instigating fights between the DFers :-)). Kudos to you for kindling sth interesting in the forum!
