Who is Henry Daniel?

I heard that IR/GA used the works of Henry Daniel, a piano player, in the 70s and that several of their songs were his. Can someone clarify? Who is this Henry Daniel?

  I'm also very eager to know about Henry Daniel.
  I guess, he is the person who played piano for 'Enna Enna vaarthaigazho', 'Unnidam mayangugiren' songs. I've heard that himself and Joseph Krishna helped MSV a lot in orchestration.
  Nowadays, in cine field, it is difficult to find anyone playing piano like him.

  you're damn right. ARR's music is very artificial and except a few songs you never get the original feeling. He needs 6 months or more to tailor a music, which is something hearable. There are many ARR's coming (who can do as well as copying and some keyboard stuffs) and I see there is big challenge before him. Whether he survives or not only time decides.

  My uncle said that Henry Daniel was a Violinist and he is not sure about Joseph Krishna. He said that JK used to be an assistant music director for various MDs (I guess MSV) Please clarify about this. I'm kind of confused!

  Henry Daniel and Joseph krishna were Assistant music directors who assisted MSV. They were well versed in Piano and western violin.
  Fliflo, Velai_Vetti_nothing and others who rarely discuss music in tfm forum should not mistake me when I place this fact -
  Henry Daniel joined IR orchestra in late 70s and that was his last experience since he was openly insulted in the studios by IR, and the poor senior musician left his profession and passed away later.
  Joseph krishna who remained an assistant to MSV was good in piano and violin. He remained in his standard and became a Religious preacher before he passed away, content as a musician.

  As far as I know Henry Daniel and Joseph Krishna were orchestral assistants working for Viswanathan Ramamurthy, giving final touches to orchestration as VS Narsimhan,Sax Raja does (!did) for IR movies.
  Their versatile playing can be heard from pre 70 piano songs where MGR, Sivaji played the piano in films singing their hearts out, like Pudhiya Paravai songs, Enna enna varthaigalo, Kann pona pokkiley, Ellorum nalam vazha (joseph krishna) etc. Old Avm movie shows a film clip for the song Avalukkenna azaghiya mugam, which showed Viswanathan conducting an orchestra while TMS sings. You can see all old musicians like HD/JK seated.
  I do not know about IR,but Viswanathan Ramamurthy and KV Mahadevan had lots of regards for these musicians and exchange warmth with their families.

  Listen to Piano pieces in "Paartha Gnabagam Illayo" (Pudiya Paravai), "Enna Enna Varthaigalo"-P Suseela song,
  "Manithan enbavan theivamagalam"-PB Srinivas song, "Kann Pona Pokkile"-TMS song, these songs had Henry Daniels Piano.
  
  "Ellorum Nalam Vazha"-TMS song, "Paaduvor Paadinaal Aadathondrum" -TMS in MGR film, "Jilukkadi Jilukkadi Jigina"-TMS,Sirkazhi, etc were played by Joseph Krishna.
  
  Those were the tamil songs which exposed me to Piano and made me appear for Trinity college exams through Emmanuel school of music. My master Late George Harris will discuss about their sounding and playing styles.
  
  Hats off to the solo composed by the great music directors (I think it is mostly MSV) of their times. It is more important to compose & perform tastefully than to graduate with distinction and do nothing for piano in tfm.
  
  Paamaran- Dont get perplexed with 203.1xxx, which is unwanted. Consider facts!

  as the saying goes, the beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, but the beast on the tongue of the orator! :-) there are veiled attacks at you-know-who (who has contributed if not more than anyone else, at least as much) by these cronies which hurt genuine music lovers. anyways, i have learnt to ignore such idiocy.
