  i think rajini shuld not be dettered by this result.....it always happens.....he shuld continue with this project and shuld be sincere and work hard for this movie.....and he'll see amazing results after that........i think it was a bit too much for rajni to fight with a party and a man like ramdoss who just wants ministries in the centre......

  As a neutral person, having seen that no party is able to nor interested in serving the poor while in power, the only redeeming factor out of this election is the becon light that democracy still survives and people are able to show their mandate in very clear terms without a doubt. That is great hope for a NRI like me that the largest democracy in the world is the winner!!

  Back to the topic, this should very clearly prove to Super Star that he is basically an actor and that is where he should concentrate and either continue to give his style of movies or quit gracefully. I am not for actors entering into politics based on their mass appeal only.
  MGR is a phenomenon in that he was a politician and identified himself from the start that he is two-carreer man-movies and politics and workd systematically to win in both. He is no comparison to these present day actors.
  Hope vijaykanth also learns a lesson.

  From another politically neutral person who has analysed elections threadbare from the first election in which ADMK took part (Dindigul MP by-election in which Mayathevar won- was it 75 or 76?):
  
  Rajinikanth NEVER had any significant political clout (i.e. something that translates into decisive vote bank). This is proved twice (when J won last time and PMK won this time).
  
  It is to his advantage to focus on movies and social work for a while before considering any involvement in politics.
  
  Some may say he was instrumental in turning the tide in the elections when J got wiped out previously- NOP! There was such a big anti-J wave even otherwise at that time (girls burning in the bus etc.) which would have wiped out J with or without Rajini throwing in his support.
  
  SK is correct - RK is not MGR. At best, his can be compared to Sivaji's influence on voters! Both never built an image of a `perfect pon manam' in their movies or songs or public life whatsoever:-) Rajini may have started to build that image now (river linking etc), but so far successful only with <10 year olds & it will take another decade of hard work, may be with more clean-person-do-gooder movies, MGR-like songs (VM can definitely help) etc to ultimately convert into votes....(by then he'll be as old as Morarji Desai and can give a try to CM / PM posts):-))
  
  If there are political interests, `Jakku bai' should have `nenjam uNdu' kind of songs and not `vidu kadhaiya' or `baaaaabaaaa' type...

  TN must come out of such scenario, RK had a very good chance in 99, after Padayapa's success he must have quit cinema to enter politics.
  he may not be a super honest politician atleast he can do something much better than what J and K are capable. Now that RK has become a joke, what an unstable person!
  All the catchy dialogues and punches are only for films - Vai cholil Veeranadi.
  Now Dayanithi maran says he will do a project to get drinking water from Sea, only to add few hundred crores to his already vastly built business empire?
  People dont vote for DMK theres no choice and they vote agaisnt (J)ADMK.

  Rajini did not guide his fans properly. He had to raise voice against PMK bcos Ramadas insulted his fans. Otherwise Rajini wouldn't have openned his mouth. Rajini was in a very difficult position. He could neither support Jayalalitha nor DMK (bcos of Ramadas). All these people pulled him into politics. As far as I know Rajini is unfit for politics and he should stay away from that instead of spoiling his image that he earned in 25 years... Indian politics is a saakkadai and good souls like Rajini has no place in there.

  "Once upon a time there were two very good friends.
  One was a sheer politician and the other was an actor who commanded great respect and affection from the public.
  They saw a noble gullible person called 'brother lord'.
  He had a commandable hold on a country of people comprised of innocent and easily rousable people.
  These two joined him and projected him as the leader knowing fully well of his tobacco addictions and his short span of life.
  With his sweet tongue, this 'Brother Lord' confused the people and came to power, thwarting the popular national party.
  And,then, he died soon.
  These two very good friends immediately seized the opportunity and one of them succedded him.
  These two people conspired among themselves to take these innocent and gullible people into a ride and decided that they will see to it that these two will share the fortunes of this fertile country among themselves.
  One was from a neighbouring country and the other was an old descendent from another neioghbouring country.
  So, neither of them were a true son of the soil.
  After enjoyiong the power and amassing enough wealth for each of them, they met again and decided to pose as if they are seperating.
  But, truly, they didn't!!
  The actor formed a seperate party with a slightly altered name to remember their concocted leader and publicly spoke ill of the other friend.
  But, these two remained friends for ever!
  Thus, they started dividing the fortunes of the country which fed them and this gullible people continued to vote one of them into power so that the fortunes remained within them.
  Even the national parties were silent spectators of this trecherous evil conspiracy.
  One time this friend will align with the popular party and come to power and the next time he will willingly concede this to the other.
  The gullible people never had the wisdom to understand this conspiracy and allowed themselves to be continuously swayed by one of these two and in the process left themselves out of the national stream.
  They didn't know the heavy price they were paying!
  And, that land was called Thamizh naadu and people took pride in calling themselves to be Tamilians!
  Yes, there were some concerned people who indeed tried to bring this to their attention.
  They were called jokers, losers and whatever name you may coin.
  "indha thamizhakaththai inimEl andha ANdavanaalum kaappaaRR mudiyaadhu"!!
  If this statement looks familiar, go hang your head in shame!!

  all those ppl talking abt rajini's failure... well , he would definitely bounce back..dont under estimate him...... it is only the hype created by the media around him that has dwindled now... rajini sir wil thank god that media ppl and jalra ppl from across parties wont trouble him for some time atleast....
  
  mgr sir IMHO acted well both in movies and in stages thatz why he cud balance his two-career well. rajini sir, whether good or bad, whether ppl accept or not never have hided his views...watz wrong in it....... may be he has no place in politics with such an attitude..agreeed..that is politics........
  
  end of rajini sir's future nu yaar yaaro solraanga..... afterall jaathi unarva thoondi vidaravangalluekellam future irukkumbothu bad intentions illatha rajini sir ku illama poiduma.....
