The golden voice of the tfm era Dr.Sirkhazhi Govindarajan has sung innumerable songs for the tamil film industry. His hit songs are with the HMV company which has also released all his devotional and Classical recordings as cassettes and CDs. When one goes to the market, you find only a selected few popular ones like Philosophical film hits, Devotional film hits etc and Abhirami Andhadi, Kandar Alangaram etc. displayed. There are many more precious collections which are unfortunately stagnated in the companies due to their exceeding lists of catalogue content. The right deserving subjects do not get its due. Can we discuss of the recordings of this great artiste in terms of his songs film or classical or devotional or light or folk, and arrange for its availability without short supply in the market?

It is high time companies like HMV comeout with a newere techical vista where they can get all the music available without a bias.
I need Sirkazhis Thirumurugan Thaalaatu-Thirupalliezhuchi sung by the father and son. It is my favourite. Is there a site for its download.

MJK-
The album you asked for is a devotional on Lord Muruga written by Poovai Senguttuvan and tuned by TR Papa. It is very divine especially to start succesful work in the morning.
Sangeetha - Master recording company are the producers, but in the music shops they say that HMV has taken over. Will HMV release it or Sleep as usual with catalogue listing! Lord knows!
One more song, Challenging number which I bet no singer can reproduce replica is "Kalai Pozhudey Namaskaram" which used to be played in Ceylon Radio in the mornings, from the movie 'Mahaveera Beeman'. I would also like to have the song "Paarthukkondirundaaley Podhum" from the movie Chithoor Rani Padmini - Sivaji, Vyjayanthi starrer in which Sirkazhi would have sung a 'breathless' continuous speed swaras lasting for 67 secs(AnandaVikatan interview-Best of my fathers'). I wish such songs be made available in sa re ga ma HMV for download.

I wish to record Lord Murga London Muruga sung by Sirkali Govindarajan.
There is a fast jazzy western number "Jilukkadi Jilukkadi Regina" in Modern theatres' movie, sung by sirkali. Can anybody help me tracing the songs with format informations please.
It is true and I appreciate that there is no on to sing like him (though his son does better with a base in his voice). Sirkali is Sirkali!

Thanks balaC and gratio.
icdc.com/~sirkali site of Seerkahzhi Govindarajan has a a lot of information.
The songs sound great.
There is a song in "Chitoor Rani Padmini" Sivaji-Vyjanthimala Starrer, having a song Paarthukkondiruthaaley Podhum, tuned by the great maestro G.Ramanathan sung by Seerkazhi. Can you get the MP3 format anywhere?
What is HMV company doing now? Are they still in music business or are they interested in doing it?

HMV in the past few years has brought out some nice seerkazhi albums - paaru paaru nallaa paaru (folk songs by Seerkazhi in tamil films), Seerkazhi sings for MGR, and one more album whose name I forget. This last has rare songs like sirippu thaan varuguthaiyaa, vaanameethil neenthiOdum vennilaave, and a song from sri valli.
On the devotional side, I discovered the ponmaari album (a translation of the kanakadhaara stotram of aadhi sankarar).

Great job kk-
Iam rushing to buy. I heard that the song Kaalai Pozhuthy namaskaram was from the film sampoorna Mahabaratham and not Mahaveera beeman as posted earlier.

Does any one have an idea as to where in Madras or Madurai, one can get the CD collections or MP3 collections of Sirkazhi Govindarajans Classical, Devotional and film hits please?
What a golden voice! You visit certain forums and it is funny to see people opting for expressionless voices, that too Music directors as their favourite male voice. Can they ever stand before this great man and his voice! Golden! Golden!

chella: search the archives of this forum - there are several (at least 3) threads on music shops in tamilnadu. If memory serves, I reviewed shops in several cities in TN/Singapore after my last visit there.
Swaminathan: Not sure there was a film called sampoorna mahabharatham. Perhaps, sampoorna ramayanam?

2) ullathil nalla ullam urangadhenbadhu

mmv - maruthamalai maamaniye was sung by a similar maestro Madurai somu who is also an exponent in classical music like sirkali.
Iam interested in downloading songs for children sung by sirkali like,
1.Orone onnu
2.Nalla Nalla pillaigalai
3.Thalai vaari poochoodi
4.Odi vilayadu paapa (Bharathi song)
I think I saw Orone onnu in the live album of Sivasidambarams concert in Washington murugan temple released by Super recording co.

Abhirami andhadi and Kandhar alangaaram are his master pieces. I remembere Viduthalai veeramanis speech in Periyar thidal when he said "Sirkalis voice and tamil diction will make even an aethist listen to devotional songs out of love for tamil".
Such was his services to TFM and devotional music. It is a point to note that recording companies have not released or issued sufficient stocks of his CDs and cassetes in the market (Or are they sold fast and out of stock in the market?).

Hello BPS
you effort to popularise Sirkali is appreciatable but dont you think you are overdoing it simply repeating this in every thread please stop this.
Please dont start same topic under different names and thread .
If you want to popularize and market your site there are so many way of doing it
try placing a add banner at vikatan or kumduam website.
Please dont use tfm again and again like this

What a great Tamil voice. There is no such ringing voice till date in 'any' industry. Tfm industry has proved its 'no-gratitude attitude'during his time by underestimating his capacity. Yet he stood in the field with dignity and honours. Longlive his name and fame! The website by BalajiPratapSirkali is great. Congrats!
This discussion forum becomes sensible with good postings.

'Samarasam ulaavum idame'is a good song and my favourite. I think Pappa is the music director. I have listened to the song on a 78 rpm record with my father when I was a small boy. Oh What a song!

Abdul - Thanks for reminding such a great song. Samarasam ulaavum was the song from the movie Rambayin Kaadal, music done by T.R.Papa. This sequence has no rich settings but for a condoling K.A. Thangavelu who cries in the cemetry and the song sounds great. That is it.
Have you listened to Chithoor Rani Padmini songs by Sirkali. He sings a single breath swara rendering continous in one breath for 69 seconds which was a record. But this was not publicised because of the humility of the singer and the Music director G Ramanathan who mutually exchanged the credit to the other and shunned publicity in the media. I think this song is available in HMVs 'Thirayil Malarntha sangeetham' which contains it.
