Hello,
Circa 1993.
IR recorded his Symphonic work with the RPO in London. And if he had released his work, his name would have got added to this list 11 years back. But why was it not done.
So to add his name to this eminent list you do all these things is it?
I think you will realise soon that you have taken more than what you can chew.
And if you have no clear cut answers to the questions asked then at least don't fill up the pages with raw data which is accessible to everybody here (they ask you because you have taken on yourself the role of the official spokesperson of this project, at least in this forum)

Hello SSSSA
Another point you have made is about"Why Hungary". You try to justify going to Hungary because the western classial music form thrived in that part of the world. Of course, that is mainly in Austria not in Germany.
But today it is not the case. Some of the best orchestras of the world are not necessarily only in Europe and certainly not in Hungary. If you do not know the fact, better don't talk about them.
With your statement, can we assume that the orchestra that Raja used in 1993 for his recording is not a good classical orchestra?
Have you heard about the orchestras like London Symphony, BBC Symphony, CBSO-City of Birmingham Symphony, The Sinfonia, and the n number of other top class orchestras of UK apart from the RPO?
Just leave it man, you are getting into a territory that you are obviously not knowing much to talk about.

Ramesh ,
can we know the facts behind ur statement 'Some of the best orchestras of the world are not necessarily only in Europe and certainly not in Hungary.' ..I defintely do not have any facst about which is teh best orchestra in teh world nor do i know any parameters for juding which is the bets in the world !! I feel unless you work with these orchestras u will never know .Illayraaja has already worked with London and budapest orchestras ,so he is the best person to decide which orchestra is the best for his composition .

Ramesh ,
Most of the IR fans ( almost all ,probably including SSS) do not know the reason behind why teh symphony was released .If the symphony was bad ,why should John scott come all the way from london to chennai to attend the function ..Or why should he appreciate his symphony in his offical web page ? There may be some other reasons which may be personal and raaja out of his own personal principles might have refused .We defintely don't know what is the real picture .
and SSS has every right to post here .They are doing great work really .When the project started ,i really did not belive that Father and SSSS would collect so much .They are working for a great cause .request fans of you tio support this cause ,though not blindly .

Mumbai Ramki,
Just because John Scott attended a function, does not amount to anything. IR fans in the forum have been trying to get more info on what happened to the earlier symphony of IR, and this mystery continues, so please spare us the BS. As far as SSSA's mad request for money! money!, money!, this is bordering on insanity. I cannot still understand why this thread is allowed to continue in a tfm forum.
This venture has the potential of becoming one more pyramid scheme. Anyone who wants to buy a CD will buy it from a store/web.
Good luck to one and all and bb, it is time to close this thread.

I beleive you know John Scott was the conductor of that symphony .Also please refer to his official website of what he has said about his symphony !!!!!!!

I am aware that John Scott was the conductor. No one denies that IR can write an outstanding symphony - it is just the desire of an IR fan to `hear' it.

This what I heard from the industry. Looks like IR entered into a lousy contract which just gave him the mechanical rights and not the copyright. Also, the contract was written in such a way that he is prohibited from speaking about it. Hence the tight lip.
This time around with TIS, he is seeking public funds from his fans to conduct and release his work. This is a huge project and he is not making a dime from it.
Why Symphony? and not native orchestration? I guess he wanted to give it a grander feel and western classical gives him more fuel to bring in the subtle emotions in a musical form.
I am sure this will be a benchmark work from the greatest composer of the century.

IR Fan:
This is the first time I have heard about a lousy contract :-).
IR not making any money sound un-convincing, in fact IR should make a pot of money as money is a great motivator to almost all humans and will pull IR again into the limelight.
I am not too sure of a cost of 1 million USD for the project (again we dont have any details on the cost and expense details which are requested by those who have donated/invested in the project). IR fans who have donated for the project have a right to know how the money will be spent.
I hope that the support by a christian group for the project is respectable and noble, thiruvasagam and christian beliefs hopefully will intersect.
IMO, SSSS's constant requests/lamenting for donations is sure to create a negative backlash for the project. Do you really believe the second mortgage spin?

Random thoughts:
1. I have never heard of a music contract where a person is asked to shut his mouth (in reference to IR's silence on the original symphony). idhu therinjinrundhaa indha maadhiri naalu contract Udit Narayan pErla naanE sponsor paNNi iruppEn :-))
2. The irony is IR will not open his mouth and the people who open their mouths on his behalf are 'govindaa govindaa' pOdara thiruppathi mottais (pun intended) who do not know enough about either music or music business to satisfy the pointed questions of the public.
3. By filling up the pages with useless junk about Symphony (looks like a 5th grade plagiarised term paper on the topic), thiru SSSSSSSSA (I thought there were a couple of S's missing in the name and I was in a generous mood today) has made his intentions, tone, and the answers "very clear".
4. Sridhar Seetharaman - If you are reading this, please get a different spokesperson for this project if you still believe in it. SSSSA is doing more disservice than service by his 'unique methods' of seeking contributions. And No! Form and substance are important - any two penny marketing major will tell you that.

Well said, more of you are required here. Hopefully someone less intellectually challenged will start providing info on the project. How does this thread relate to TFM :-).
