Songs are reviewed off listenin from oosai.com so cant really get a realli good feel from d quality.
1) Baby Baby- Carla, YSR
yuck.....is all i have to say once d girl starts singing lol.I love d intro bit with the strumming goin on then d girl starts singin turn off right away...but then she shuts up and YSR comes to save d day so its all good.i seriously think he needs a girl his hormones are ranging ever notice his lyrics he has(the english ones) always have a bump and grind undertone.
Overall fun song to listen to a few times. Nuthin new from YSR in this song.(3/5)
2)Malargale-Bombay Jayashree
Its a good song if ur in the mood for a slow moving tune.Hehe now we have YSR using churchbells too was only a moment of time for ppl to join ARR bandwagon.but dont get me wrong he uses it effectivley.Nice instrumentaion nice lil nuianssances here and there.Like the way d song speeds up here and there when the female is not singing.Excellence use of d strings and violin.(4/5)
3.Naatuka Saraku-Dhanush,Ranjith, Dr.Lavanya
I think dhanush starts off d song...if it is WELL DONE!steppin into Kamal's shoes slowly. He sings his piece and its off to d typical gana stylu.didnt know YSR had it in him to do gana songs.Singing is not that great but as par the way d song is sung i can see whyhe went for these singers and it goes nicely with d flow of the song.Above avg gana song not to fond of gana songs but hey this one is aite so on gana standards gets (4/5) but just for a song (2/5)
4.Pudhukottattai Saravana-
Gunal , Hema Sardesai , Nithish Gopal , Yugi
We have a male singin O wooo O wooo and it shows promise for a good song, but then they start singin words and the beats come in and the song is ruined. Nuthin new abt the song, YSR trying to go for the club feel again after his failed attempt in Kadhal Kondain...I'd say this one is better then his first attempt, so maybe he will get there.
The effects he does during the O wooo O wooo parts are done realli well.its just the bulk of the song which has no substance. (3/5)
5.Pudhu Kadhal-Ranjith , Chinmaye
Song starts off with sum lil effects then the strings come in along with the beats.Nice melody and singing done by the two artists.Obviously this is the pick of the album on the first hearing. Sweet and soft with an upbeat feeling to it.loving this song....this will prolli be thrwon into the cycle with the Kangalal Keithu Sei songs. (5/5)
Overall this album is just avgerage with the exception of Pudhu Kadhal & Malargale.(3.4/5)

Piratheepan,
I accept that YSR has a strong liking for ARR and his style but saying that he uses "Church Bells" in a song after hearing "Kangalal kaithu Sei"(U r referring to that, right????) is a bit farrrr-stretched.............
I am very sure that he wud have finished the songs sometime b4 and wud not have just added the "Church Bells" after hearing ARR's KKS,correct'a??????
But, I found Ur review pretty good. I also got the same feeling after hearing the songs.
U had also posted in another thread that he gives good songs only to good directors/stories. I won't accept this comment of Urs.This director is the one who gave "April Maadathil", if I am not wrong. And he did good songs for that. And remember the movie "Bala"?? It had one of the best efforts from YSR and if U had watched teh movie, U would have felt real bad about those good songs being wasted.
Sorry for the long mail.

ARR used churchbells in Boys as well... Not just KKS. Anyway, I'm not trying to justify Piratheepan's post. I thought I'd just inject that lil piece of info. Peace:)

the comment was in reference to ARR's last three albums BOYS,E20U18, and KKS...he prolli picked it up after BOYS would u not agree?
hmmm i guess i phrased it badly.....well April Madhathil was not a bad movie.Bala had potential, becuz the md will not kno the plight of the movie til afterwards am i right? For instance take Geethai for example shall we?horrible horrible songs. I dont think this goes to just YSR i think this is true for any MD.look at IR latest release and ARR's Parasuram?
but i cant get enuff of that pudhu kathal =P

Curryleaf and Piratheepan,
Just curious, where did ARR use church bells in BOYS and E20U18? I guess I missed it in those albums. And as b4, I surely accept that YSR takes a lot of inspiration from ARR and from other sources, as well.
And actually, I was expecting YSR to come up with a song using Blaaze after his success with ARR. Mark My Words, that is going to happen very soooon.
Piratheepan, one humble comment.Do not pull IR or other MD's into a discussion about YSR and whether he used "Church Bells" after listeningto ARR's songs. I feel that Ur comment about IR's latest album would not be welcome here.
PEACE :)

I think u got me wrong on d IR bit, i meant IR doesnt score good music for nonsense movies like his latest i think its konchi pesalam. And ARR in the case of Parasuram.
Yeh Secret of Success in BOYS and Kama Kama in E20U18.in the intro around 0:32-0:48
it first comes in.
I doubt YSR needs Blaaze for rap cuz hes already put rap in his pieces before.but itd be cool if he does

people ,
for heavens sake, using the same instrument does not tantamount to plagiarism or copied songs..

Ok, I listened to the songs...
I have one question... Whats with the BABY BABY song? Blah.
The slow songs have really heavy beat... I'm not sure if I like it or not. Only time will tell.
Conclusion: Not bad.

well listen to d song in general d church bells is what makes it clear cut and dry is all im sayin.didnt say they copied sayin its inspired by him. This YSR hes got talent.not HJ who just rehashes ARR's tunes.

Why does Naattu sarakku's beat sounds like "Thirunelveli Halwa da"...?

Ellaa muttaa pasangalukkum oru kelvi. Church bell enna Rahman Kottaaiyyaa, ennamoh avan kottaaiyya puducchu aadittamaari la ellaarum church bell church bellnu oooombikkittu erukkaraanunga. Sunnniyaandikalaa just listen to the songs poool makkale. If can't find any evidence to claim it is a copy of some ARR pudukku compositions, just try harder, instead of resorting to such cheap church bell theories, cheap sunnnni pasangalaa!!!!

or u listen to "Puthukkottaielerenthu Saravanan By YUVAN SHANKAR RAJA" ...i think u followed the title didn't u....
he he he...no one said he copied ARR..they just say...the instrument was there...and of course...Church bell belongs to church...
but pls explain why the Gaana beat resembles "thirunelveli halwa da" beat..????

Piratheepan,
What is this church bell? Is it not just Bell? They use it in Temple and Churches. Is church bell distinct?
If not IR has used it umpteen number of times. His Maarugoo from Vetri vizhaa. I can quote a lot.
Again, why YSR has to look ARR to use it. I am sure more composers has used it before ARR.

Paran,
When ARR lifted Gummi Adi Tamil Naadu Muzhuvadum tune and used it instruments KKS song, you were appreciating. Oh! "ARR how great he improvises in other thread. He uses Bharatiyar song in high tech way". Now you are complaning about some beats similar in YSR's music.
Is it not double standard? Again, ARR used Gummi Adi tune, not used Bharityar song remember(in contrast to your Tamil related song and blah, blah). It is tune he used and you can call it inspiration or whatever.
I hope you understand.
