  I beg to differ from you. Please understand that MDs like MSV were forced to sing by the directors and from interviews one comes to know, that even doyens like P Suseela have gone to the extent of shedding tears, openly expressing that she was unable to sing certain touches of MSV, those days.
  But MSV is one man who preferred trained voices and used them , but for a chosen few WHICH HE SANG WITH PERFECTION OF SHRUTHI, EXPRESSION AND CLEAR DICTION. His voice has a range, he sounds only with the harmonium, unison with the shruthi.
  Iam sorry for digression. Please listen to other MDs sing, observe the above points and come to a conclusion please.

  MSV is no doubt a great maestro. In fact he can be called a 'greater' maestro if you consider his humility as a human bieng. To quote an incidence -When the film industry felicitated Kalaignar Karunanidhi, MSV - Gangai Amaran and others joined with other music directors and performed songs live on the stage. When the 'maestro' Ilayaraja refused to sing with the orchestra demanding a seperate identity to sing alone with his own composition (all full of soap and ice), MSV was courteous in accompanying him on his harmonium and forced his tabla player and his singers like Kovai soundararajan, Mano,Sivachidambaram etc who came to sing for him to join the singing! It was telecast live in Sun TV and watched all over the world! In fact MSV helped him with some chord minor note and things like that and also sang a few lines to help Ilayaraja sing. That is the sort of warmth and respect that a "Great maestro" like MSV showed for a music director like maestro ilayaraja in public!
  Iam sure everyone knows that Maestro is not a title like Sir, Lord, or Pandit conferred on Ilayaraja. It was a letter of appreciation from the London Orchestra where he did a music direction.One should understand-
  IT IS NICE TO BE IMPORTANT. BUT, IT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO BE NICE! Yes, MSV is a nice person, as I saw point blank in Sun TV telecast.

  in this discussion there is athread about msv'S VOICE. He usually sang the asareeree songs( like unakkenna koraicchal, alla alla, kudumbam oru kadambam) which went well with the situation.
  But how come IR tolerates his own voice. this one fact makes me wonder if he has music sense. Unless it is some kind of exercise to retain his sanity.not to let success go into his head.And come on don't give me that he has sung "Janani janani" very well. Any other singer would have made it better. I can only think that this was IR's way of laughing at his chamchas.

  I am no body to judge others tastes and same applies to all here. I just quoted few more examples to him saying that what he argues is not totally true. You guys first try to respect Raja and his music (have a decent unoffensive) discussion then certainly I do. vengayam, sambar,uppu...I donno what kind of respect you give to them. You are not the right person for whom I should learn about respect.

  Is this a very respectabls statement..For you yes it may be. Is this not an atack on MD, who is a favorite one for millions.   Attack..but reasonably. Asking whether IR knows music? is a more sarcastic one. That certainly get a reply like this.

  You restrict in attacking IR badly then nobody cares. Say i don't like this aspect or that aspect....who cares.
