  3) kadhalin ponveenaiye nannoru ( no idea what movie MSV music i guess)
  4) Ragavane Ramana Ragunatha from Illamai Kalangal
  (This was beautifully composed by IR)

  6) Margazhi poove
  7) Pudhiya poovidhu from Thendrale ennai..
  8) Oru poongavanam from Agni natchatiram

  Today morning drive time, I listened to songs from Eeravizhi Kaviyangal and "Kadhalenum Theril" from Kazhughu and songs from Aaradhanai.
  
  While listening to Kadhalenum Theril, I couldn't help feeling what a big fall for Rajni from the songs like Kadhalenum Theril, Kanmaneye Kadhal enbathu Karpaniya, to "Dippu Dippu"s of today. Also the songs of the calibre of the Kadhalenum Theril are why ARR's songs do not impress me. they are pedestrian in comparison.

  can anybody tell me who the MD is?
  
  You people take all good songs of Rajini and equate it to Baba. Oh..God..have some balance Yaar. Rajini's image has changed over the years. He is more of a preacher than an actor. People want to see Rajini speak karuththu and sing kariththu.
  
  There are more such crap songs for Rajini in his career. Now, don't try to give wrong examples by taking some good yesteryear songs of Rajini and equate it with Baba. Baba is unique by itself and it is already a hit. That's it. RK has sold his part and his rasigargal is happy.

  Listened to Some patriotic songs of Lata in Hindi and KKKK (sevaral repeats). That is what they were playing this day in my office.
  
  Now some song like "Vasanai pooveduththu ..vasalil vaikkattuma". What film is this?

  Despite the listing of songs that someone has listed as they don't like, the statement that I felt that there is a big letdown from the preponderance of unbelievable songs in Rajni movies like "Kadhalenum Kovil" and "Kanamaniye" to the "Dippu Dippu"s of today.
  
  Also to the list of songs listed as not liked, I could probably list about a minimum of ten times the list of just unbelievably, classy compositions of IR for Rajini movies.
  
  I admit taste in music like anything else is individual in nature and I appreciate other's infatuation with the "Dippu Dippu"s of today, but I was just trying to explain why IR fans like me who'se tastes have been trained to the compositions like 'kadhalenum Kovil" are unable to be impressed with the "Dippu Dippu's and "maya chayas" of today.

  I think the answer to your question will lie with the nature of the film, the story, producer and director. This being touted as Rajini's last film...and with all the pressure to deliver a huge hit...not just a hit mind you....they have opted for songs which would stay a long time on dance charts...makes the film popular as we all know. The choice of music and MD is a very commercial consideration these days. Moreso, maybe because our industry analysts feel that the majority of today's audience won't tolerate the kind of songs you have mentioned above.

  NOM to you anyway. And what I tried to explain is don't don't brand Baba as the only worst album of RK. Not that it is worst anyway, according to me, but many put words here which might influence some moderate music lover.

  After a long span, I heard "Ethilium Ingu Iruppaan Avan Yaaro"..It hears to me rather profound this time. Music and words of the song tone with one another, and the feelings I had can not be put in words here.
