Telugu Devi Sri Prasad is back with ICE

Remember Devi Sri Prasad, who sang Angel vandhalae.., in Vijay's Badri 2 years back. He is doing extemely well in Telugu, working with big directors like Krishna Vamsi and Vijayabhasker. Now, he is back in Tamil with ICE, the Tamil remake of the Uday Kiran, Pratiusha, Gajala starrer Telugu film, Kalisukavalani. The film was a big hit in Telugu and so was its music. The same director is making it in Tamil with a new-comer called Ashok and Priyanka Trivedi (Kadhal Sadugudu, Raaja, Cauvery). Lets see what happennes?

  RAMANA GOKULA was the MD for Badri, bur Devi Sri Prasad is also an independant music diretor in Andhra Pradesh. he has given hits in Telugu like, Manmathudu, Khadgam and many others.

  Mm... this shall be interesting. BTW, in reference to Ramana Gogula, I like his western rock touch to his music, but I also think it's out of place.

  this guy has long long long way to go. though he had some decent music, he does not have any films in telugu. very stereo typed music. He may be recognisable probably 3-4 years down the line

  Don't be surprised if you find yourself listening to these songs 10-15 times a day!
  If TFM cannot recognize Devi SriPrasad then they are losing out on the one of the most brilliant musicians of film music.

  better stick to deva's "melodies", who gives music with his 5 brothers. Devi Sri is probably the only MD is the current generation with a great sense of orchestrization, layering melodies and the best among the current MD's to give good situational songs.

  Devi Sri Prasad has done a phenomenal job with his very first movie Anandam "Kanulu terachina" is just fabulous! Nothing short of that. In his latest movie, Manmadudu "Gundello emundo.." reiterates his mastery over orchestrization and melody. I think he is definitely here to stay!

  I'm giving Inidhu Inidhu Kaathal Inidhu a second listening. Two of the songs are really nice. The first is 'Inidhu Inidhu Kaathal Inidhu', which seems to be in raagam Hamsadhwani.
  The other one is 'Siragulla,' which sounds very much like an IR number. I think this song is set to raagam Sudhadhanyasi, or possibly Samudrapriya.
  
  I have not heard any of the songs in Ice yet.

  The article fails to mention that Devi Sri made his debut in "Devi" as MD at the age of 17, probably the second youngest MD in Film music history. That's where he retained the "Devi" in his name. "Devi"s (tamil version) songs are available at musicindiaonline. Check out the song "sempoove ..." by SPB. Hip is the word!

  Are you from venkatasubbarao too ? I've had the good fortune of performing in the same band as devi sri prasad when I was in school...The one thing more than anything else, that impressed me about devi, was that he could play any instrument and was extremely flexible.   When I was studying 6th in VenkataSubbaRao,Devi was in 12th. I still remember him getting blessings from Joseph mam(i wonder whether you know her) When I was in 9th , myself and 5 of my schoolmates had been to Devi's house. He taught us the finner pieces of music. His younger brother Vidhyasagar and 5 other boys along with represented VSR in all culturals between 1998 and 2001. We never missed a prize in these 3 years.
  
  AFterwards 2-3 left the school and now there is no Music band (Absolutely no one in school can even play a simple tune in keyboard). 1st the DEvi's band and then KrishnaPrasads (to which I belong) and now nothing. What a pity!
