Ragasiyammai music sucks man...... I being an ardent KR fan was deeply disappointed by this one.... Didnt even think of hearing for a second time... Big let down from KR.....

I Got ragasiyamaay y'day and listened to it only once ... So it won't be nice to given an opinion based on this, But I liked couple of songs in first listening, But overall, I don't see any 'kavithaigaL Sollavaa' or 'kaathal vaanoli' or 'sellamaay sellam' from KR this time !

KR's pathos song (he sounds very much like his father, with a sumaar tamil pronounciation !) is interesting - gotta listen more ...

I feel the big break between Album and this have made his music deteriorate.

the songs like ravaoudu rava was abiggest crap unbaerable similarly thavailiia by tippu is also the same and the other songs are good esp kangalum, Kathal manillae, and oduthey are good melodies only fast numbers are crap

Kadhal Maanilaey is good..... KR is very close to his father's voice.... next in the list would be "kangallum kangallum" and "oduthey oduthey".... rest are so so.... certainly not in the calibre of ALBUM..... but much better than "3 roses"....

The quality is not good in raaga..... not sure if its the encoding in raaga that is bad, or if the recording itself is junk.....

2.Karuppan ..

Just watch out for the theme music in Kudaikul Mazhai ...he has used an orchestra for that ...

The last good album came from KR was the one he did for MR's production house. After that, he has given a few good songs here and there but overall the albums were not that great. So I was very skeptical about buying this kudaikkul mazhai album. But wanted to give it a try anyway. There are 9 tracks totally (5 songs + one repeat + 3 instrumentals).

1. enga poyi solluvaen - SPB - Na.Muthukumar : A solo song by SPB, reminds me of the songs that were churned out by IR in 80s. Sounds nothing new, but the only good thing is SPB's voice which sounds still good. A very average song.

2. onnu rendu moonu - Tippu - Parthiban : This is a rhythm based song. KR always tries to mix jazzy effects and spoils this type of songs. I don't understand why he does that. Instead of giving punch in the percussion which is a must for rhythm based songs, he goes for chorus like vocals with noisy and hollow orchestration. I would say we can call this song laila laila-2 (the one came in kathala kathala). Doesn't sound impressive.

3. Adiyae Kiliyae - IR - Parthiban : Wow, nice melody after those two forgettable tracks. The song starts off with nice beat and chorus then IR comes in. The interlude is good and melodious. Mirudangam is used throughout song, these simple beats and good tune makes this song great. One of my picks of this album.

4. Theme music : Sounds ok.

5. oru kottaikkul - Ranjith, Andrea, Sujatha, Suchitra - Na.Muthukumar : This pallavi sounds very catchy from the first hearing itself. It is a very typical KR song, chorus type vocals backing up with chorus etc... The second interlude is the background music of the preview. A good song and my second pick.

6. pada pada vena - Karthik - Na.Muthukumar : A fast paced short song. It sounds very catchy. I wish this song to be a full length song..

7. kudaikkul mazhai - thalaluttu : This instrumental piece starts with beautiful guitar strumming then the male vocal comes in for the thalattu. sounds ok.

8. Adiyae Kiliyae - Violin intrumental : instrumental version of adiyae kiliyae song. Sounds good.

9. onnu rendu moonu - Hariharan - Parthiban : Repeat of song no.2 with Hariharan singing.

Overall 3 songs are good and 3 instrumentals are ok.. After his MR movie, this album sounds ok and still lacks the punch. If he would have done a better job at the two average songs, then this album might help him to see the limelight.

My advice to KR:

1. The recording is still poor. Get some top class freelance sound engineers and get rid of sekar and prabakaran. I think they are working for IR too. Even IR albums lack in this area, just see the difference in the Pithamagan album which was recorded and mixed by YSR crew. If the studio is the problem, then leave Prasad.

2. Seems like rhythm based song is not your cup of tea. But using chorus like vocals for many of them will not do good for sure.
