What do you think of Shreya Ghosal?

Shreya was great in Devdas, but in Tamil she has not been much of a success. I personally really liked her song in Album,.
what do you think?

  do south indian singers get any training in music before they start singin for films. They all sound so amateurish. anu radha, sujata, chitra, shrinivas,..... yuck. No finesse.

  which anuradha are u talking about? If its the awful Anuradha Paudwal, she is from the North. If its Anuradha Sriram, she has been extensively trained in Western Classical Music.
  
  Chitra is almost a concert-trained Carnatic artist. Her Carnatic classical renditons are available on www.musicindiaonline.com.

  sam...all the above mentioned singers by you have been trained professionally to compete in the cine field....and if you havent noticed....it is the south indian singers and musicians and film technicians who have been ruling indian film industry and will continue to in future.so get alife and accept the truth!!! better luck next time

  She sang a song in telugu for Mani Sharma in a film called 'Okkadu', one of the BEST songs I have heard in recent times. The song itself is VERY VERY melodious, her voice is extra-ordinary.

  I don't agree with ur fact .the best directors ,camerameen ,choreographers,script writers are here .May be it is 40% true as far as singers are concerned .It is a well known fact that lataji-Ashaji were responsible Vani Jayaraam for not allowing to grow in the north.In a recent interview by chitra she has told that many of her sonsg recordedings HINDI did not appear in teh cassete .
  
  But that does not deter from the fact that North Indian singers have got excellent voices .It is true that North Indian SIngers have more feelings in their voices ,but their voice s are suitable for certain songs .North Indian and SOuth Indian Singers complement each other very well .

  whatever your identity is, you just seem to be the person looking for some cheap thrills in this forum. You have never contributed anything worthwhile so far.
  My suggestion: Listen to the songs of
  Kavita Krishnamurthy: from 1942: A Love Story
  Chitra: from 'Piya Basanti'
  Sujatha: from 'Time'
  Hariharan: from 'Hazir'
  Shankar Mahadevan: from 'Breathless'
  Mahalakshmi Iyer: from 'Sur'
  Srinivas: from 'Yeh Duniya Sabki'
  KK (Krishna Kumar Menon) from 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'
  
  
  They are all ruling the Hindi music industry now! And all of them are 'Sambhar' cases!!
  
  I should also mention up-coming talents like SaiRam (one who sings Hindi oldies perfectly in both male & female voices), Srikanth Narayanan, Shailaja Subramanian, Balasubramaniam and Seshadri. I have been to their Keep Alive show in Mumbai 3 years ago and was mesmerized by their renditions and was proud to see fellow Tamilians & Keralites doing such a great job and getting tremendous appreciation.
