One Time Wonders!

Have you ever wonndered why there are so many one-timers in TFM? I have. :-))

It's amazing why some of the good ones are not sought after. I hope to discuss some of these splendid one-timers, both old and new, and maybe examine why they were neglected.

  Neels thanks for the info. I didnt know there are 2 versions of 'adaadaa'.Those days in vividh bharathi they used to announce the singer name as jayshree for SJanakis version of 'adaadaa'

  The 'other' singer who sang with Neeraja is probably Jayashree.
  S.J's version is the more popular one though.
  
  Apart from the hugely popular (and excellent) number, 'KoondalilE Megham Vandu' there is a grrr...eat song in 'Balanagamma'(starring Sridevi, SharatBabu & Co) that went almost unnoticed:
  It's sung by Vani Jayaram and the raga is 'RasikaPriya' (as in 'Sangeetame.. En Jeevane' from Kovil PuRa). I can't receollect the lyrics though. It's a seduction number performed by Manju Bhargavi. She tries to please her Magician lover(a 'fan' of her dance). What an apt use of the raga!

  Does the lyrics have anything to do with 'seduction'? I am not sure if the song I am referring to is the one that you're talking about. By the way, is there more than one song by VaNi in the film?

  After so many years i found out the third singer 'idho idho en nenjile ore paadal'(vattathukkuL sadhuram - music IR)
  she is uma devi (other 2 singers are BSsasirekha and SJanaki)

  Anyone remember the singer Manjula?
  She sang 'Unnai thaane, thanjam endru nambi vanthen' with KJY in Nallavanukku nallavan.
  I wonder if Manjula and Sunantha are the same!
  But clearly I remember the singer of the song as Manjula, and she has a quite similar voice to that of Sunantha.

  Easan ManjuLa is(was?) a popular kannada singer.
  Other than 'unnaithane' She also sang one song in 'dharma seelan' under IRs music.
