What Happen to S.P Balasubramaniam

Hi.I am fan of Singer S.P.Bala...But i'am wondering that he is not singing a lot now days..all thelatest album of song doesnot have his singing song....
Anyone knowwhy now days he is not singing....

  SPB has reached a stage where he would no more to sing all crap songs. He is choosing songs of his taste. Even it is not necessary for him to sing. He has proved himself and nothing is left for him anymore.
  
  It is bad that in TFM the songs of his taste are very less.

  Although SPB is a favorite singer of mine I believe that his decision to sing less songs is right. For one thing, the man needs to rest. He had throat problems earlier on. Then again, he is giving a lot of hits songs because he is being selective. Lastly, I believe that he is trying to give new stars a chance. And should. For he has been the #1 for the last 30 years. I think that new talents should be explored. But don't anyone think that he is done with. As far as I am concerned, in male voices, SPB and Yesudas RULE.

  New singers might have come,but nobody has the expression nor the variations of spb.he is a gofted singers who can sing all type of songs.now s days people from north like udit narayan r singing but they lack the expression whcih spb has.   Let my this style of argument:
  
  SPB was a master in 80's and early 90's. He was great until Hariharan's advent. After that he lost his touch. He is hopeless now. Hariharan rules. All songs sung by SPB after 'thamizhaa thamizhaa' (Roja) are crap. SPB may be a veteran. But he should not sing now. Singing style has changed. In this new style, Hariharan is the king and Shankar Mahadevan is a prince.

  But coming to SPB, he was and is still the master. If you wanna know who the real king is just listen to songs in which SPB and HH have sung. The tamil versions of telugu songs sung by HH that were done by SPB is always a step better. Listen to Pelli songs for the original version of 'Vanthathu penna" and you will see. IMHO, even 'Ennai thalatta varuvaala(zha?)" song was done better by SPB in the telugu version. I think that was Preminche Manasu.
  
  HH became famous because of the SPB monotony and not because he was better than SPB in any way. Similarly, I am not saying that HH is inferior to SPB. HH's ghazals are great. But when it comes to versatile singing and emoting, SPB is always a step ahead.

  I was thinking about SPB's hits under different MDs.The percentage of hits he has is very high(if not the highest) under ARR.
  A few of the gems are Kaadhal rojavae, minnalae, Enai kanavillaiye,Thoda thoda,Kappal yeri poyachu ,swasame.
  He also gave a national award performance in "Thanga thamarai".I can't think of a single song which didn't deserve mention if it didn't become a hit and enter into music followers' hearts.
  
  I'm just trying to do a statistical(but non-figure) analysis under my fav MD.
  I'm not drawing any conclusions .

  i think v forgot to think beyond ARR and IR in recent years spb songs... how did v forget bharatwaj...the "kaetaen kaetaen" from 'Amarkalam' could hardly become a hit had spb didnt sing that (am i right??). i think even in 'paarthaen rasithaen' also spb had sung (correct me if im wrong).
  
  otherwise imho the factor "spb doesnt sing often" is more bcos his is not getting chances as often as he used to get than he being choosy. may be MDs want to promote more voices than a same voice. gone those days which had a trend of having MKTs, TMSs, SPBs...in future v wont be having singers who will sing, say, more than 1000 songs in cinema in their entire carrier. (sadly, imho) an era of specialists has started overpowering the era of versatality.

  IMHO, SPB is still the undisputed top singer in TFM. His range and versatality is unmatched so far by any singer. Let me give you some good examples.
  
  1. 'Azhagana Ratchaseyee' -- Mudhalvan (esp. the starting pallavi is just awesome
  2. 'Unnai Parthapinbu Naan' -- Kathal Manan (So sweet)
