  Here we go, lot of new song writers are coming to the field now. One guy is promising much, he is Pazhani Bharathi. If Sirpi has done anything good to TFM, that's PB. If you like any other new comers, write about them here with the lyrics you like. So I am starting with Pazhani Bharathi. The first song I like is oru mani adiththAl from KAlamellAm kAdhal vAzhga .
  
  He goes like this:

  I think I don't have to write the lines here since everyone knows it well.

  Pazhanibharathi was introduced by Vikaraman in Perumpulli. Later they worked together in Naan pesa ninaippathellaam, gokulam, puthiya mannargal, etc. "nee kattum sela madippula" - ivaroda varigal thaan. Intha paattai kettuttu C.Sundar ullathai alli thaa-la chance kuduthaar. Ellaam hit aaga, sundar-ukku aasthaana lyricist aayittaar. U.A.T-la kurippaaga sollavendiya paadal "i love u love sonnaale". Intha paadal-in charanathula kaathalan-ukku kaathali-kitte and vice vera enna
  pidikkum enpathai azhagaaga solli iruppaar. (someone post the full lyrics please.) Appuram mettukkui, arunachalam,etc. I think he wrote "veesum kaatrukku" also.

  Yes, he has written two songs in 'Ullaasam', (Veesum kaatrukku and Konjum manjal pookal). They are also good.

  I think Arivumathi has a share in writing the dialogues too for 'siraichchaalai'. I remember the titles say 'uraiyaadal' and not 'vasanam', as it is usually done.

  Arivumathi is a He. If I am right, he was Balu Mahendra's assistant sometime back. puthukkavithai ulagil romba prabalamaanavar.
  
  By the way, there has been (till date) only one female lyricist in TFM, that too in yesteryears. Her name is Roshanara Begum, who wrote kungumap pottin mangalam..nenjamiraNdil sangamam in the film kudiyiruntha kOyil. That was her only song in TFM.

  Pirai soodan is a lyricist with difference.
  Some E.--- has written for Deva and is now written for YSR, a good thing to follow. Deva is introducing new lyricists and he has recently introduced on ChinnaKannadasan in Nilavinile.

  Having heard all the new lyricists, I think the only one with real quality is Thamarai. I have been listening to all her songs from her first one in "INIYAVALE" ("Thendral Endhan Nadaiyai Kettadhu"), then "Malligai Poove, Malligai Poove Paarthaiya", to "Injirango", to three good songs in "Minnale", two very good songs in "Ai, Nee Romba Azhaga Irukke" of which I liked "Kaadhal Vanduchcho" for the lyrics, and a very good song now in "One, Two, Three" ("April Malai Megame", Guys, just hear this one for lyrics). Her songs have an elegant simplicity and sensitivity that is reminiscent of Kannadaasan. The only reason, I think, why she is not writing more songs is because, she refuses to use English words unnecessarily in her songs and also refuses to write obscene songs. As for the others, Pa. Vijay does not have any depth in his lyrics, just fills in words, Muthukumar is a very good poet, but is only just coming to terms with writing songs. Kabilan gave a very good first song, "En Samayal araiyil, nee uppa sakkaraiya", but has to show a little more consistency. Snehan gave some good songs in "Paandavar Bhoomi", but has not been consistent. Ravi Shankar, who has now directed a film is also a very good lyricist but has switched to direction, while Kalai kumar is like Pa. Vijay, who just fills in words.
