Hey TFM lovers, I hope you haven't forgotten the Magic that Gautam Vasudev Menon and Harris Jayaraj created with Minnale. The same team are giving us another film, Kaaka Kaaka. (Surya, Jothika)
With Gautam Vasudev Menon's Surya, Jothika and Jeevan starrer, Kaaka Kaaka, Harris Jayaraj also steps into A R Rahman's shoes by reusing his self made tunes that he had used earlier Hindi version of Minnale, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.
Remember the Hindi song picturised on Saif Ali Khan in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Dil ko tumse pyaar hua.... Now that song will have Tamil lyrics and is being picturised on Surya and Jothika in Kaaka Kaaka.
Harris Jayaraj once said that how a tune composed for a particular situation for that particular film can be used for another film, now he himself is using his tune composed in Hindi for a Tamil film which is entirely on a different subject (action). Why do Music Director reuse their previous tunes from other languages to Tamil and vice-versa?
Your healthy comments friends!!

Hmm.... Interesting. Maybe the dude got burnt out so he's reusing tunes... *shrug*
"Dilko" is a nice song though... It might lose its luster when it gets turned into a tamil one... Bleh. Lord Save the song, please dont make me hate it... *closes eyes really tightly and hopes lord listens even if he doesnt like sukkarotti much...*

There is nothing wrong when a MD uses his own tunes again..what is the problem.....he does cater to a different audience........In fact i feel that a south MD shd reuse his tunes when he composes for a Hindi film else those guys will lift it and claim the same as their's!

No the trailor apprared in Sun TV on Pongal night. Joe and Surya are great looking. Ramya Krishnan is doing an item number in the film. It seems she was late for the shoot.

HARRIS JEYRAJ is a hippocrate , in his interview he said he is against re using tunes frm south & north. He indirectly told about arr. And see now ?

Sharad:
See, its very simple...When HJ copies ARR's tunes, songs, dressing sense and even his mannerism, then he should also copy his one of the trade secret..like reuse of tunes...ARR popularised Tamil Tunes in Hindi and vise versa...HJ tries to copy that...The former was very successful in that...The latter was only successful only in copying...
I happen to read one of his chats in Galatta or webulagam, I forgot. He repeatedly said that he is against reuse of tune...He even ridiculed how song made for one situation be copied for other..as if he makes song for one perticular situation...HJ----helluva joker.

Harris Jayaraj's Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein film was a flop but music was a BIG HIT. Dinesh you can read the HMV report at the site.
Harris Jayaraj's Hindi Minnale was a Hit as fasr the music goes.
That does'nt mean that he is better than ARR. ARR is surely the best.

hello every body..i agree with u all that harris was against recycled tunes because a tune used for one situation is hard to fit into another one in any other languages.
But in the case of kakka kakka we should not forget that the director of the film was goutham menon who also directed RHTDM in hindi.so,he might have suggested the same song for this film which would have suited well for the situation.better we all wait and see before passing any comments.
One more thing for any one who says minnalae in hindi was a flop.please check thoroughly yourself before giving those false statements, because the album was stated 1 by MTV viewers choice awards and that was the last hit for hmv.courtesy (www.mtv.com)

Hey other than in MTV it was in no other channel or count down. Vasu Bagnani is one of the board member of MTV I presume. So obviously he would have chosen that channel to promote his film. Except of MTV 123 count down, no other count down showed this films songs or clippings...
I still remember the Star Plus tv's Jublee Plus program and how they rediculed the film .

sorry dinesh, the fact is RHTDM is a biger hit than SAATHIYA.dont forget that saathiya is only one of the better albums released resently in performance vise.the potential may be more comparing others but, it is not even equal to dil chatha hai and 1/5th of lagaan in sales vise. coming to MTV awards, even abdul khalam cant decide the ratings of the chart, since it was under safe polling of viewers and how can poor vashu bagnani insist to promote.inspite of so many problems he was already facing he will try to promote only for his next forth coming projects. At the end of the day things r going right only for harris jayaraj after ilayaraj and rahman.

I think I really don't care, if the song is good and can be resused, then the MD should go ahead use it. " Dil Ko Tumse Pyar " is one of the best song HJ has composed, I would love to see how it has come up in Tamil. I just hope that it doesn't loose its majic.

"Vasu Bagnani is one of the board member of MTV I presume." O Boy some people really become desperate to prove their point.
I think we should start another thread " Why do ARR fans, feel threatened with HJ success "
So what is RHTDM is a bigger success than Sathiya, they both weren't realsed simultaneously to be judged together. Will RHTDM success prove that HJ is better than ARR ? Guys ask yourself these questions before you'll jump to accuse something

its not a joke...I don't have solid proof on that but I presume I heard it or read it some where. Also other than in MTV no other channel beamed these songs...Take any other count down. Can you tell me why?
When I have doubts in facts I don't hide them...That is why I said I presume. I did not put it point blank that he is the Director of MTV...right.

So what happens next ? When you hear 6 chatbusters in a row, a comparison factor is bound to come up with the remaining 5 numbers in the album. The music by Hindi movie debutant Harris Jayaraj is NOT BAD by any standards, but somehow gets subdued by the euphoria generated by the various versions of the title track. Although 'Zara Zara' and 'Dil Ko' do deserve special mention. The former by 'Bombay Jayashree' (and we thought that only producers were innovative!!! ) is a seductive number and does gets one interested in the proceedings. Roop Kumar Rathod gets emotionally charged in 'Dil Ko' ably helped by Sameer's sentimental lyrics.
'Bolo Bolo' by Shaan smells of A R Rehman's hit 'Columbus Columbus' (Jeans) and is just an okey dokey affair. But 'Such Keh Raha Hai' by Kay Kay is a weak song that may find a few takers. 'Oh Mama Mama' is (again !!!) about appreciation of Mumbai's janta and so can be considered a safe bet in Mumbai city at least. But will it be popular in the remaining parts of the world as well ? Well, that depends to a large extent on the way the song has been picturised!!! On the plus is the energy and enthusiasm shown by Madhavan (a la Shahrukh Khan) in the song. On the negative is 'occasionaly sounding irritating' interruptions of 'Ku Ku Ku Ku ' in the number.

RHDTM bigger hit then Saathiya???ohh my god..how blind can a human be!here r some proof...
Business in South India may be affected as they have already heard the original. It may do work best in Mumbai where there is an audience for such a score.
Saathiya is interesting for not just one but various reasons !!
No.1 - It is presented by King of Romance, Yash Chopra
No.2 - It stars Vivek Oberoi in his first so-called conventional Bollywood hero role where he does the mandatory job of running around the trees !! Rani Mukherjee comes in another remake after Nayak.
No.3 - It is a remake of Tamil superhit Alai Payuthey directed by Mani Ratnam in which Madhavan (RHTDM, DVPV) played the lead.
No.4 - It is directed by Shaad Ali, who was the assistant director for Mani Ratnam for Alai Payuthey.
No.5 - It is produced by Bobby Bedi who produced Bandit Queen.
No.6 - It has A.R. Rehman and Gulzar joining hands once again after Dil Se.
No.7 - Let's DISCLOSE it - Shahrukh Khan makes a special appearance.
