  Netrikann Thirappinum Kutram, Kutramey!

  
  
  This could be a short thread. What I would like to discover is a list of songs that were factually wrong! To begin with let me give the first song (Knowing me, it has to be a Kannan song!)
  
  Gangai karai thoattam, kanni penngal koottam, Kannan naduviniley
  
  Satya Keerthi, Kanchana and possibly Ramki, may know what is wrong with song. Krishnar was never known to be anywhere near the Ganges river (Yamuna should have been the right one!). When the song came out and Kannadhasan was queried, he didn't have a satisfactory answer! In time, people forgot the mistake and enjoyed the truly beautiful song.
  
  Anymore of such songs? Please do not list silly songs (like lolakku dol, etc.) I want songs that are factually wrong.

  There is a old song by Kannadaasan (I do not remember the pallavi) that has the following lines in saraNam:
  maamaraththu kiLaiyinilE
  maadapp puRaa koodu kattum
  
  Factual :maadap puRaa koyil maadangaLil koodu kattuvadhaagum, marak kiLaigaLil alla. I was told that many listeners pointed out this ambiguity then when this song was famous. Does any one know the details for this song. (May be from the film vidi veLLi)

  In kizhakku seemaiyilE our great diamundu wrote this piece of gem :

  Diamundu got a lot of flak for writing that if you drink goat's milk that you will lose your brain. (Mahatma Gandhi drank goat's milk and the majority of Indians drink buffalo's milk). Our diamundu tried to justify this and got thrashed in the press.

  Adi manamduraiyilae - from Koil KaaLai.
  
  'muzhichchirundhu mooNam pirai paarthu' - Moonram pirai is visible only for a brief time in the early evening (6-7 pm). Looks like written for just 'edhugai and monai'.

  Guys,
  I am not sure if Kannadasan used just these words for edhugai or monai. But till date I couldn't get the proper explanation for these lines. I have already asked this question in a topic listed before and I am again asking here: What is Kannadasan saying in this lyrics:

  In Rajapaarvai , the song Andhimalai
  starts with the following lines:
  
  Andhimalai pozhikirathu
  ovvoru thuliyelum unn mugam therigirathu
  
  In this movie, Kamal is blind. Appadi irukkumpothu, how could he see Madhavi's face in
  rain drops?
  
  Anyway it's a great song from Vairamuthu-IR

  Is there a ragam called mouna ragam ? If it isn't

  The concept called raagam comes into picture only if you utter some words. When u keep your mouth shut and manathukullEyE mounamaaha paadal isaipathai mouna ragam enru kavingar solhiRaar.

  NOV had complained about placing Sri Krishna on the banks of the Ganges. Here's a song that brings him to the South.

  But, I echo Pags in the sentiment that poetic license does allow for a large degree of lattitude in lyrics composition. As "cinemapaithiyam" put it well above, we need creativity and poeticism in lyrics not mathematical precision. Won't you agree?

  Pagalavan - Bullseye. Many people cannot seem to accept that Kannadhasan could have made mistakes. He could have been "high" when he wrote them, I suppose.
  pg - Maybe VM could just have been reflecting the superstitiousness of certain segments of the society.
  Bhaskar - Neenga Muthal Mariyaatheyei paarkeleh? She really catches the moon! Let us pardon the kavignar - he was just letting his imaginations soar and did not mean it as a fact.
  Ravy - Another gem. Unless the guy is used to sleeping in the afternoons from say, 3pm to 11 pm!
  cp - While I appreciate your theeraatha thaagam, I don't think the lines were unintentional.
  Gopal - How about "Muyalukku mooney kaalu?" As Pagalavan says, these are merely kindal songs.
  Sellur - I suppose, against the movie's story the song may not be appropriate but otherwise quite acceptable.

  This topic reminds me of a quarrel between poets Vairamuthu and Muthulingam.
  Muthulingam criticized VM for writing:
  Athi Kaalayil Pani Kaatrugal Veesida Kandaen. Muthulingam's contention was that, Kaatrukaethu Panmai,i.e., there is no plural for the breeze.
  
  VM gave some ridiculous explanation noting the different kinds of breeze like the morning breeze, humid breeze, evening breeze,etc. VM also criticized Muthulingam for writing:
  Karaiyoram Nandellam Thaan Petra Kunjoadu.
  VM contended that an infant Nandu is not called a Kunju.
