Sun TV's special guest tomorrow is BD. Can someone post any interesting points she makes (if any) in the program?

Who cares what she has to say?She is nobody special to be a special guest. Why is she being interviewed? What has she contributed to TFM?
Sun TV should have put a decent musician or artist who people will be interested to hear!

We don't give a damn for bhavadharini...Idhukku oru thani thread thevaya??? Yo idhu nyayama??? The bottom line is "Bhavadharini sucks big time!!!"

SunTV always encourage new people - He or She need not have contributed to someone else - but can share the views to others. One more thing, Bhavadharini has perfect tamil pronounciation than other socalled "singers" who collapse tamil language one way or the other.

selva,
I agree with you (Enakkum Bhavadharini voice pidikkum ;-)
But when it comes to perfect tamil pronounciation, she is nowhere close to Sujatha, Swarnalatha or even new comer Harini .. May be she is better than Sadhana Sargam and Kavitha Krishnamoorthy ... thats not enough :-)
For that matter, I feel everybody in IR's family - Except Raja himself are weak in tamil pronounciation !

NagaS, I read somewhere that BD writes in English script & sings (since she cannot read Thamizh)...what a shame:-(

yes eden,
Its a real shame for her / any other tamil kainjarkaL to say that they don't know to read / write tamil !
Saw R. Partheepan's interview in last week's Vikatan, Looks like his son / daughters don't know tamil at all - Whats the use in writing books and thodarkaL about tamil culture when you are not ready to teach it to your children ?

Let us all hope that Bhava steps out of the family tradition of singing off-key, atleast in 2002.

BD is not a good singer at all.Her voice cannot be compared to Chitra,Sujatha, or any other quality singers. I think it is disgraceful that BDcannot read Tamil. Is she not educated at all?AFter living in Chennai for so many years and still being illiterate is a shame for IR's family.

Raju, wait wait - she is not illiterate, she knows English ;-)

NagaS its as good as being illiterate!Living in a country where Tamil is the mother tongue, how does she get around without knowing to read it? She can't even read the newspaper articles which say how truly bad she is as a singer.Maybe that is why she is still singing! ;-)

We don't know whether BD really knows to read tamil or not. And the other point is, now the requirement for an actress/actor/singer to flourish in TFM (even in the cable TV shows) is illiteracy in tamil!
- From: Raju (@ 172.189.70.23)
on: Thu Jan 10 10:19:13 EST 2002
I think also in addition to having illiteracy in Tamil,a semi ok voice is required.BD fails miserably in this point!
Also it is a common known fact that BD cannot read ot write Tamil as she herself said on a TV interview 2 years back that she reads the script in English only as she cannot read Tamil!

I think all the people that have posted here so far have gone crazy! Why so much hatred for an artist? If Bhavathaarini happens to be one in your family will you all speak like this? Please have a heart, OK?
Raju, Bhava is a literate and knows to speak English thanks to Rosary Matric where she studied. Why make a big fuss at all about her learning Tamil? Does SPB write his songs in Tamil even after living in Madras for this many decades?
I recently heard her Mayila Pola and I liked it. I liked her voice better than the song itself. Her voice is smooth and youthful. One reason for her winning the award could be that her voice was natural and went with the situation without any forced delivery to sound like a kid (unlike SJ).
And I also happened to hear another song of hers "Indha Kaadhal Seiyum Velai" along with Unni Krishnan. She sounded better.
But, let's come to the topic, what did she have to say in the interview, e?

BTW, SPB is from AP (and with mother tongue Telugu) & if he writes in English to sing Thamizh songs, one can understand it. In fact most of us are very happy about his efforts to pronounce Thamizh well...We can't parallel his case with Bhava, whose mother tongue is Thamizh (her father is from a place near sangam vaLartha Madurai) & she lives very much inside TN & not America! It is this attitude of many people in TN that is dangerous to the future of Thamizh...OK, English is a world language...learn it & use it wherever it is required...but it takes only 1 month's effort (that too part time) to read & write Thamizh, your mother tongue...
I read someone speaking in the book release function of IR that he drove Hindi out of TN without any riot:-(

and if im not wrong SPB (long since) writes songs in thamizh and sings using them, it was in his early days he used to write only in telegu.

eden,
>>>> It is this attitude of many people in TN that is dangerous to the future of Thamizh...
Very well said !!!!!! I fully agree with you ... this is not just the attitude of people in TN, But all tamils.,
Digression - if you are interested in reading a (tamil) story I wrote with this concept, Mail me and I can send it to you :-)
>>>> I read someone speaking in the book release function of IR that he drove Hindi out of TN without any riot:-(
Do you think you can deny this statement Eden ? he actually DID this, isn't it ?
What is the relation between IR's Music score (and achievements) and Bhavatharini's ignorance of her mother tongue ?

Magnasound has released Bhavadharini's debut movie 'Mitr My Friend' Audio - Only 3 songs, Sung by Vasundara das and Bombay Jayashree ... Songs are okay, I am not very much impressed, Bombay Jayashree's song (2 versions) is exact replica of a carnatic song (No no, Nothing copied her, Just like ARR's ALaipayuthaey kaNNa, She tool 'KUzaloodhi manamellaam koLLai koNdapinnae' and given some modern treatment)

On IR driving out Hindi: Yes I strongly agree on HFM losing it's status with the advent of IR, which can be expressed like that. My quoting that here is to show the contrast:-) (Father chasing out Hindi, hoisting Thamizh high, but daughter not-so-much-bothered-about-Thamizh)

A very poor effort by Bhava in this movie. And to think that Parthipan was even contemplating using Bhava as an MD in a new project???
The songs leave much to be desired and Bhava has shown herself to have failed as an MD.There is a track which is a lift of Chinna Chinna Aasai on this album.
As for the discussion of Bhava not being able to read Thamizh,I think it disgraceful. As IR's daughter the least she could do is value her mother tongue.People all over the world living away from India are maintaining their culture and Speaking Thamizh, and to think that she cant make a simple effort while in Madras, is really a great tragedy.

I agree with you, it is the responsibility of the father to make sure of that ...
Intha maathiri niRaiya paer irukkaanga-ngaRathuthaan varuthhtamaa irukku, Remember what Partheeban says about his daughter not knowing tamil (in kumudam) ... Kamal's daughter had a tough time talking in tamil in his B'day function ....
