Hello there>Does anyone still remember this singer cum composer?He has sang in a Utharaindri Ullay Vaa.He had sang the songs nallam Vazha Nee Paadu with P.Suseela.

  IIRC this was a Bhanumati Ramakrishna movie and this song was a typical item number with Vijaykumar and Padmapriya (the latter acted as Bhanumati's sister in the movie). I wonder how much freedom MLS had in composing the music with Bhanumati breathing down his neck - the latter being an accomplished allrounder herself. MLS has done a fine job in this movie and seems to be a good singer himslef. Note the high pitch he has put VJ thru without letting her voice get too shrill. Fine use of percussion too - congas, tabla and drum kit - with fine transitions between them. Will never know whether MLS was a one movie wonder or was really denied opportunities. However MLS is streets ahead of the one-song wonders of today.

  Few weeks back, I got CD from Singapore.
  the title name is 1970 Super hits.
  the Ninaipathu niraiverum is one of them.

  I have met MLS a few times, after a long time since he rendered this song "Ninaippathu Niraiverum". I had requested him to sing this song for me but he said he could remeber the lines. Definitely this is one "helluva" great song, especially the melody.

  I am big fan of SPB and have "Kaathal Kaathal" in my SPB collection. After hearing the humming again and again I am convinced it is not SPB (some of the gamakams in the humming are blunt). I compared the humming extensively with "Unnai Thotta Kaatru Vandu Ennai Thottadhu".
