Hi friends,
after seeing lots of TFM dicussions ,related to IR, I strongly feel that we are the responsible fans IR. I think at this stage we need to prove that to the public. Shall we define what kind of music we want from IR in the future ? In case if IR sees this discussion page, this may give him a good input to his creative process.

My personal wishes - in a prioritized list
1. The Symphony
2. More songs like Ananda Kuyilin Paattu in KM.
3. A sincere attempt to resolve many of the "fights" with other artists.
Frankly, I wouldnt worry too much about item # 3, if 1 and 2 come thro. 3 is like icing on the cake.

Friends,
Why don't all of us write a letter in detail to our Maestro, giving him words of encouragement and also morale boosting words and urge and cheer him to go on and on ?
As sincere , genuine fans of IR, I strongly feel that he should be made to feel comfortable and at ease by people like us.
More suggestions in this regard awaited.

Yes, I think I suggested to Sathya, since one of his friends is a film director, that we all send some one line well-wishing note to Raja soon. Definitely, for his B'Day we should all arrange a Card from here. What do you all say?
About encouragement, Raja has done so much and now he is coming back in his own way. Now, he has competition, like we have never ever seen before. So, all he has to do is match wits.

Am I reading it correct ????
"give him an input to his creative process"
"giving him words of encouragement"
"well-wishing note to Raja"

Mr.Well_wisher,
I don't very appreciate the tone behind your comments - what is wrong in genuine fans reaching out to a Genius and letting him know of our true feelings for him and his music ?

i agree with bones.
IMHO:
IR knows what is he doing. IR knows where
he is, compared to others. He is doing music
for his satisfaction and money.
We can not
force any artiste to do our way. They have
their own. If the artiste is listening to
others (except FDs) he is not involved and
he is not enjoying it very much.

I too agree with bones and mannAru. The tone of some of the earlier postings were like - IR must be wondering if he has any fans left. Since we are the greatest of his fans, let's right to him and let him now.

gOpAl: romba unarchi vasappattu vittergaL. You missed the point in Bones's posting. He just wanted to point out that IR is free to do what he chooses and we shouldn't be trying to chart his course in the future. His choice of words might not make that readily apparent, but you should be used to Bones's style of writing by now. :)

IR should compose for Hindi films because no hindi music directors are that great anymore. IR has nothing to lose as his market is smaller after ARR's national market. IR should go all out to reach complete India. Period. This is it. Enough is enough. Podhum. Go for the national audience and then the international audience will follow. Look at his beautiful songs in Manam Virumbuthey Unnai. Totally gone unnoticed in TN, because there everybody is in the software business. No time for music these days. North India still not bothered about that. IR is wasting time for TN today. Please IR first do the unfinished India market. Go, Go, Go. Don't you think we should all send emails to him to change course for a while? (Does he have email account or his sons have?

Well! MO:
If it is for FM, it would be better, if IR can coordinate and give importance other aspects of film songs, like taking into account song situation, having good lyricists like VM, etc.,
IR is definitely capable of producing classical music like symphonies. But, the question is does the symphony can pay him like FMs. How much % of Tamil people own IR's "nothing but wind" ? If it is Sakalavallavan or some other FM % of people who buy it, is very high.
Absolutely no interference of his family, in his professional life.
Well! may be we can add more categories in this list.
But, every MD in some respect or other will be lacking some qualities. Otherwise, OSCAR awards cannot become escapable or for that matter any utmost honour cannot become escapable.
We should encourage those who are capable, not because they are weak and lacking funda.
More on this later.

I second SitaRam's thought. I think it is the most perfect posting for this DF. I'd like to add a couple of points. I think he's got ego problems. He should try to get over it and work again with the people like Manirathnam. Second, he should avoid composing music for some Kuppai Movies.

Hi Sitaram & Vimal,
your demand of going to HM, has been easy for ARR, because, he is from B'bay. Both of you bring out a point, which resembles, the familiar, "well he did, why dont you do". But, I guess, you all know, many of IR tunes, had been copied in HMs. But, even without going to HM, he delivers such original music. Our motivation should be to get best music that IR can deliver. But, is it going to HM, an essential factor in realising that objective? I weigh it less.
