Kiran,
I am so fascinated by Raaja's soulful music that, (surprisingly in course of time, eversince I started listening to Raaja in Telugu with Swathimuthyam when I was 12 yrs old, I developed great ears to ONLY Raaja's music), the BGM simply drags me to the TV if I am not watching it, or if heard from a neighbouring source, I stay bound to it with my ears attentively applied to the source, this is no exaggeration. I can simply spot out the BGM bits written by Raaja. I am so obsessed with his music enormously that I am simply tied to his Music.
I feel proud to have acquired this ability of sensing Raaja's music.
Its beyond doubt that IR is invisibly present on the screen and its undeniable that every frame of the movie is portrayed by his score. As stated by many IR fans in previous threads, he alone possesses the ability to fill up voidness in any frame with his brilliant and intelligent score.
I had many of my friends saying to me (w/o knowing that its Ilayaraaja) " the BGM is simply brilliant here , dunno who the MD is". I used to graciously give them the reply with a proud smile.
Particularly I love the BGMs of these movies
1. swarnakamalam
2. swathimuthyam
3. april 1 vidudhala
4. Rudraveena (my favourite)
and many more
Hail Raaja

That was the problem with IR.
He has this uncontrollable urge to dominate.
Look where he is now. :)
There is a lesson to be learnt here.

Mostly I agree with what you say. But isn't there a limit to this jalra business? Just look at the title of this thread. Ithai kettkka oru normal IR fan-num illaiyaa?
Anyway, except for hardcore IR fanatics, no one else is approaching IR any more.
Even Nasser has left him, as he knows that IT has been squeezed more than a squeezed sugar-cane. Of course NOM. :)

I should correct it. He is still the only composer in India...& a genuis at that!

P.S. Not possible for a genius to decompose but it does apply to shit.

ROTFL, neenga zero-ego personalityA? nAn illa:-) & hence I'm not qualified to comment on IR as a person. If you're so, please go ahead and you're totally justified:-)
And, if you don't like the topic of the thread, pls go ahead and say so / give facts to refute. Should you resort to personality attack on IR for that? `piRarkkinA muRpagal seyyin...'
magix, I don't like any of those greek philosophers and hence found your comment as a personal insult:-) If you want the source of my quote, pls send a mail...

...IR is the only MD who dominates director on screen...
What exactly does that mean?
Does it mean that the effect of IR's music overshadows the effect of the director in a movie, or does that mean that IR literally dominates the director when a movie is being made?
If it is the former, how can you compare the effect of music only in a movie, with the overall acting and direction in a movie??
If it is the latter, do you mean it in a negative or positive sense. As far as I know, 'dominate' is a negative word similar in some ways to bullying. Even if it is positive, how can IR decide on matters that do not involve music? Direction of a movie involves alot more than jus the songs, bgm and picturisation of the songs. Alot more elements have to be overseen by the director, which IR despite his expertise in music, probably doesn't have the skills or expertise to look into. Hence how can IR literally dominate the director? Of course if ur talking about dominating the director only when it comes to the music, isn't that his job? Given a situation, he needs to improvise on it, come up with the tunes, give some good suggestions, etc. So how is he then dominating? He's jus doing his job, like all MDs do.

whynot - adding to your post.....since many other MDs also do the same, why use the word ONLY in "Is IR the ONLY MD who dominates......."?

How come you talk so much sense for a HCIRF?
Awww... you are NOT a HCIRF, right? :)
When people are ready to exaggerate IR's contributions, why should anyone decry a fact, altho it may be negative? :)
As for the title of this thread, I already made a sarcastic comment right in the beginning and I guess everyone here is certain of my position. :)

ROTFL, no problem, but for decency's sake can't we limit discussions in this hitherto decent forum to just the artistic performance of somebody (rather than the behaviour, dress, hairstyle etc. of the musician) is all my humble request:-) I still believe we are not discussing about manure here but just music:-))
