6 Songs : Mind Blowing!!

Simply mind-blowing
November 20
Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”
Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.
Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

Sun TV is not very neutral Aishwarya, they rate movies as per the rapport they share with the actor/dir/producer(Top 10 movies). As for thirai Vimarsanam-there is hardly any vimarsanam,a lady tells the story with a few scenes thrown in between&then they stand outside the theatre asking for people's comments.Personally i prefer Ananda Vikatan reviews.Neenga padam parthengale, sollunga oduma?

thats what i thought exactly after i read that taran adarsh's review. it was so contrasting with prem panicker's review regarding the pace of the movie. and the funny part is, it is the same Taran adarsh when reviewing Yuva's soundtrack a month back told that ARR's score is a winning score and the whole album is good !!

Bangalore, May 19: As the D Day for the release of ace film director Manirathnam’s bilingual film, Yuva in Hindi and Ayutha Ezhudhu in Tamil, draws near, the curiosity among the city’s film fraternity and fans about the film is growing. The film is slated to be released in the city on May 21.
It is now more than two years since a Manirathnam film has hit the screens in Bangalore theatres. With the music of the films already being declared a super hit in the city, the expectations among Manirathnam film buffs has naturally increased.
The acclaimed director’s films have always enjoyed a better reception in Bangalore than in many parts of Tamil Nadu, though he makes his films mostly in Tamil. Incidentally, Manirathnam’s first directorial venture, Pallavi Anupallavi was in Kannada and was shot entirely in Bangalore. Bollywood star Anil Kapoor acted in the film.
Manirathnam had said in an interview a few years ago that he decided to make his debut as director with a Kannada film because movie goers here had always backed experimental and quality films. Pallavi Anupallavi had a decent run and was also critically acclaimed.
Manirathnam’s later films, Nayagan, Agninakshathram, Roja, Bombay and Alai Paayudhe made big money in cities like Bangalore and Mysore. His last Tamil film, Kannaththil Muththamittaal which won national awards, met with a cold response throughout Tamil Nadu, but was a hit in Bangalore.
The director enjoys a special place in the hearts of Bangalore’s film fans and so Yuva and Ayutha Ezhudhu are being awaited with bated breath.

Maverick,
we all have seen many movies. You might have liked some, not liked dome whereas your family/friends might have had divergent views but has it ever happened that yoy felt the movie was damn slpw whereas everyone else said it was fast paced?Since Prem comes across as a good critic(his reviews/articles regularly are posted in rediff)there should be something drastically wrong with Taran Adarsh(remember Outlook's terribly biased review of Virumandi).

anyhow, I always knew that AE would be a better movie than Yuva. the starcast is better in AE. as the reviews said, surya as a student is much better than Ajay Devgan as a student. and i dont think hindi audience wouldnt enjoy movies with such subjects with a political tinge. only sterotyped movies which are filled with romance (yash chopra), family drama (sooraj barjatya), or some magnum-opus with a predictable story filled with melodrama and a truck load of sentiments from Karan Johar has been a hit with hindi audiences . exceptions are those offbeat movies from the RGV factory and some good ones here and there.

"Yuva comes as a relief at a time of worthless mushy romances and full of sex movies with little relevance to our lives and our country."
Rediff counterpoint.

"Yuva comes as a relief at a time of worthless mushy romances and full of sex movies ..."
I'd agree if Yuva is that way.
"...with little relevance to our lives and our country."
Cmon man.. who wants relevance to our lives and our country when it comes to making / watching movies. This is an entertainment industry and it is obvious that it'd be dominated by such movies. Infact, I dont even mind a worthless romantic movie or a worthy sex movie being lapped up audiences as long as they keep appreciating good movies in other genres also.

Aishu,
Kalakite po! :)
And each review seems to have a different thing to say! But I'm not gonna take ne of them seriously for now.. It's like these websites are competing against each other to get their reviews out as quickly as possible. I'd rather watch the movie and write my own review! :) There are quite a few good reviews. But none of them have reviewed AE. I get the feeling Yuva's gonna be visually better than AE [I'm not saying this for Rani and Kareena! :) ], but the the impact of AE as a complete package's gonna hit harder. I mean, the sound, the attitude, the way the tamil bunch interpret their characters might be a lot better.

"Worst one lah" trying to be Singaporean/Malaysian is it?...
"lah" at the end of every sentence makes it sound stupid...
AE....simply rocks!....it is really good in terms of narration....if people who can't even accept VM at the beginning as there's 2 narration..might find it diff...with this one...as it's 3 way narration...but it's brilliant....very youthful!....
this movie is meant for next generation entertainer....if u enjoy watching Thiruda Thirudi (Dhanush) kinda movies...this is totally diff serving...
