Guess what??
I went to "Ae! Nee romba azhaga irukae" cassette release function.
a couple of ppl in TFM might remember that i'm a close friend of Mani Ratnam's nephew. So by default, i guess he becomes the nephew of GV!
He gave him the invite pass and i was included!
The songs are not bad.. everything is fast!
The 1st pair of MDs, Arvind-Shankar(??) had composed a good 1 sung by Harish R..
The 2nd song was by Murugavel(????), Anuradha's brother! He had a good voice, the song was not bad either..
The 3rd song was by Srinivas!!! It was a trademark tune of his.. lots of hard rock sanskrit in it! ne way quite good.
The 4th song was by a duo called Raghavan-Raja(????????).. It was a totally fast song, i didnt quite like it tho the tune was catchy...
The 5th song was by (????????????) who looked like KR! I didnt quite like the song..
The only bad point(IMO).. Deva released it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry about the name confusion folx.. i didnt concentrate... was busy star gazing!!!!!

Hi people!
I got the audio tape of YNRAI (That's Yai! Nee Romba Azhaga Irukka! -- abbreviated in Bollywood style). After listening to the songs on tape, this is the opinion I got.
The song I loved on this tape is "Kaadhal Vandhucho" by this duo called Raghav-Raja. It's the only song on the tape that doesn't have the ARR influence and Shankar Mahadevan has given an excellent rendition. It's been long since we had a very ethnic sounding song which is upbeat and classy -- coming from newcomers, this is a great effort. Very catchy and hummable and it grows on you! Good stuff!
The other song that I liked a lot was Srinivas's song. It has an ARR-ish sound. The problem with this is that the tune doesn't register immediately and requires a few listenings for recall. Also, seems to be slight apa-swaram in some places. People who love Srini's voice and melody lovers in general will enjoy this one!
The song "Thottu Thottu" by MD Ramesh Vinayakam is quite folky and has a few African touches in the interludes. Danceable one -- I think this will play to galleries.
The song "Yamini" sounds a bit like "Rukumani! Rukumani!" from Roja twisted around. I'm not saying its copied. But, the "sandham" is quite similar -- also the chorus humming -- you'll understand when you listen to the song. But, I don't think the general public will discren all that and its quite hummable and catchy. There are some interesting sounds in this song, but the letdown as far as I'm concerned are the interludes. One interlude is just the pallavi being played on some instrument and another pallavi seems to be a guitar solo by Prasanna (carnatic style).
The worst song of the album, in my opinion, is definitely "Poi Sollalaam" -- MD is Murughavel (apparently, he is Anuradha Sriram's brother). Sounds like there are loops lifted off of other ARR songs in this and sounded quite cheap.
Just my opinion guys. I don't write here often, but saw this thread and I got the tape just now. So, couldn't help but write! Take care all of you!

I too love Kaadhal vandhacho....The best song...Raagav is Venkatragavan who did MS...in computer science in URBANA...U.S.A...and for the sake of Kalaisevai..he had come back to India...He is very handsome and can give SHAM and Madhavan run for their money...He is presently vice president of one of the leading software company in Chennai...His Duo...Raaja..is also a software engineer....Both together will have bright future as M.D.S are both can become actors....A.A.

I think Murugavel used to work under YSR but due to some personal problems he was laid off by YSR. After this Murugavel vowed to enter TFM and overthrow YSR.
After hearing Poi Sollalaam, Murugavel will be lucky to even get recognition as AS's brother.
A very poor effort, he obviously didn't learn anything from YSR.

Hello music lovers,
By this time, You all would have listened to YNRAI (Very lengthy name to write -- but sounds good). Though, there is a feeling that youngsters love modern (So called) music, which is totally ABSURD. Youngsters , for that matter everyone loves GOOD Music which does not irritate one's ears. Definitely, everyone will prefer to listen to PRIYA and JHONNY of I.R. Now coming to this movie , KADHAL VANDHUCHO song, has a very good tamizh lyrics, (which is very rare these days) .. Thanks to THAMARAI (vaseegara). Pronunciation is very good. (Thanks to Shankar). The arrangement, sound of the song, Mixing (without making the lyrics listeners confused).. are very good. Thanks to the new music duo Raghav Raja. A very good composition, with a very catchy tune, an Indian ethnic music and a different approach to the structure. Probably they want to bring the real Indian Music back to the scene. No unwanted sounds in that. The change of rythm from 4/4 to 3/4 and back, makes the charanam very interesting. The interludes are very good. The song does not sound like Rahman, or I. Raja .. (Forget about Deva). It is really a good approach a different one and the first line is hummable by everyone.. My kids have already started singing the lines "KADHAL VANDHUCHO". The other song I liked was M.D. Ramesh's one. it is a catchy number, suited for a party one.. with a good indian folk touch. He has sung very well. Where was this singer all these days.. Thanks to Vasant. Srinivas' is a typical song. Some Fans of his, will like it cos, they are their fans. Nothing great about that song. More of Rahman's influence in sounds, but short of musical thoughts. But more surprising is, how come, the SHRUTHI is not focussed well? Nirpadhuvey fame, Raghavendhar has sung well. Again, it is a mixture of Rahman and Deva's approach. Why that chorus in that song? Why these days, one element is being fitted into the song .. there is no flow as such. Can anyone answer this? A great disappointment from M.D. Murugavel. Sounds very Irritating. Anuradha has sung beyond her pitch.. (M.D's mistake of choosing that pitch). Unni is making mistakes these days.. He is spoiled. He is irritating these days. My rating on the whole is 1. Kadhal Vandhucho- Raghav Raja, 2. THottu Thottu - Ramesh
3. Yamini - Arvinda Shankar.

Kadhal vandhu cho........ HI... This song is a joy of ecstacy. I dont think, We have got a love song of this kind. This does not sound like a love song between a male and fem but a Song of love. A very Good one. Though , Yamini pallavi and chorus line reminds me of Rukumani and the charanam reminds of Kadhalan song gopala gopala , it is good. sounds are good. MD Ramesh's start and pallavi is good .. charanam is slightly boring. The other two songs are a typical "Today's songs". Srinivas' song is like that of Rahman's melody wherein the sound is very soothing but the melody is dragging ... MD Murugavel's is ok.. In both the songs rythm part is constant coming out of a box.

Looks like Raghav Raja's friends and relatives want them to make an impression on T.F.M. The melody of the first line is very catchy but the song loses direction completely after that. They have a long way to go.The only songa that are a class apart are Ramesh's and Srinivas'.To say that Shruthi is not there in Srinivas' song is just to rubbish him by saying irrelevant things. You may like or not like the song but every note is completely in Shruthi.Incidentally this is the song that is repeated in the cassette.

Dear passer by,
I am very sorry...After this album's release I met Raaghav and I told him I will post good things about him....To my surprise not only he but atleast ten people around him asked me what is TFM page....Even many of the established MDS....their family members many of the singers including Suseela...they are just not aware of this Page or Forum...I feel naama oru 50 nabargal 10000 per iruppadhu pola indha page and forum pattri ninaithu kondu discuss saigerome...In real life all over the world only 100 people know about this TFM page and Forum...This is fact....Even Bavadharani told me recently she does not have any knowledge of TFM page....So need for me to praise Raghav here...I can write in Screen and Cinema express...A.A.
