It is like a pleasent shock to me hearing this song from IR.. usually IR does very limited no of films nowadays and chances are very low to get such a melody very often.. not all the songs can simulate the feelings.. it's very rare, infact impossible for any current TF music directors... but IR did it.. he does it.. he will do it again any no of times.. he desrves all the praise.. pity TFM industry is not utilising this man.. will the IR days come again??????

Yes.. mun paniye from Nandha, Vaseegara from Minnale, Manjal Poosum from friends, Naan kanum Ulagangul from Kaasi are some of the great songs of the year.. still can any of them near to 'oliyile therivadhu'?? unfortunately a big no.. of course only another IR can beat this song!!!

Ok, one has to accept that "Oliyile Therivathu" is a great piece having all its enthralling "curves of music". Every time you feel like flying...I think it's definitely evoked by Kaarthik's magic voice. BUT: Nothin can overcome Nandha's MUN PANIYA. I'm tongue-tight and wordless!! This effect is a great success for Nandha!

yes.. if karthil's voice is the real magic in the oliyile therivathu song, then SPB's voice is the real magic in the mun panniye song.. just compare the two songs for it's arrangemants and flow of the rhythm.. IR song is far ahead of YSR's

THis song is rather amazing. I donno how many of you have seen "Aathma" movie. There, Raja has furnisheed the "arrival of god" (in the form of light) scene with unique music. This is of course, the ending scene in the movie. Raja has used an identical arrangement in this song too. Probably coz of the same theme..However, there is a plenty given by Raja these days. I wud rather restrain assigning 1, 2, 3...

"mun paniya" versus "oliyilae"? well, personally, i'm in the "mun paniya" camp, but they're both near perfect songs. both father and son should be extraordinarily proud of themselves.

Since karthik's tamil accent is very good, can we expect him not to get any good oppurtunities in the TFM.. on the first hand he lacks the basic stuff i.e., he doesn't spoil tamil like Udit Narayanan or Sukwindar Singh.. poor guy

I think the level of taste for tfm fallen beyond the extreme low profile. I have never been a great hater of ARR songs.. if a real good piece come out of anyone we should admit it irrespective of the the MD whether it's IR or ARR.. but can the 'manmatha masam' be compared with 'oliyile terivathu'.. debate may grow up like taste differs upon the individuals.. yes i agree.. but even if a minimum standard is set up, can the manmatha masam be compared with oliyile therivathu.. now i understand why ARR stands so high in the market.. all i can do is to pray to god to bring up the taste level of TFM listeners..

My vote goes to "Nee illai Yenral" from the movie "Dheena". This song has a lot of youth and energy and is refreshing to hear any time. All Dheena songs are great.

Vellai Pookal is resembling a song from film 'Poonthotam' and another song called 'Poovukelam Sirangu Mullaithatthu' from the film 'Uyirodu Uyiraga'. None of these songs are really great compared to 'Oliyile Therivathu'. We have seen so many songs from ARR in the past. When the songs realeased the songs create big hype(includes the foot tapping number and melodies)and mostly it doesn't sustain hardly one year. When the film 'Bombay' released it was said that 'Uyire' song from the film was one of the greatest melodies ever produced, but the hard fact is the very next year the song cannot be even remembered. But we can say that songs like 'Oliyile Therivadhu' will stand for ages. That's the power of IR melodies.

This is what happens when amnesia patients start listening to music.
This is the most absurd statement which many HCIRFs seem to make. "ARRs music wont stand the test of time". As if all of them are expert clairvoyants. This shows only their desperation. But the truth has been contrary to their expectations.
If you dont like ARR or his music, keep it to yourself. Dont make stupid statements against him.
Grow up.
