Sometimes we like songs because of good music, sometimes because of good lyrics and sometimes because of both good music and lyrics. I would like to have one discussion group in which requests for such songs can be made. If available webmasters can upload them to their site. So, I would like to invite you to participate in bringing out such nice songs to the web.

vels, a good initiative. i would like to hear "nallavan enakku naanE nallavan" (a song *ing sivaji & balaji). i don't remember the movie name. this song has some excellent percussion.

One of the very best of IR and which I consider very good is "Pesakudathu" song. I would love to hear this as many times as possible.

The purpose of this thread is to make requests and web masters if they have those songs, can upload them. But, in the "Songs that touched us", there is only a discussion on the songs.

Rex is doing a wonderful job in collecting IR songs.
This thread will be focusing on the songs of all MDs so that we can have nice songs available on the web for listening.

Rags:

Oru Chinna Paravai... is available at Ramasamy Gireesan's site.

Malai Tharumo... is a wonderful song. I will try getting it from my friends.

Kandaen Engum.... : probably there in one of IR sites.

Mano:

May we have the movies' name. It will be of help for my search.

Pattu Vanna Rosavam... is a wonderful song.

All this song are very melodious numbers from SG in 70s, and I do have all of them :-))

then sindhudhe vaanam is by IR though it came under the name of GKV. IR said it in an interview when he was commending the lyricist.

sorry, I dont have any files in Ra format. But I may want to try convert them. Thanks for the link.
I feel, there are so many nice but obscure 70's songs. May be a good idea to collect them and load them somewhere. I am not talking only about IR songs here, songs from all MDS in the period.

One way is to make a copy of that cassette and sending it to me. Or if you have a PC the songs can be coded using Realaudio encoder, then we can upload it to a site.

I have both versions of "Oru Jeevanthan Un Padalthan...." from Naan Adimai Illai(i.e., both happy and sad versions). I am uploading the happy version. If you wanted the other one, please let me know, I can upload that too.
