I am sure as you all know that lately, Rahman's songs have not become what they used to be; mega hits. People have different opinions as to why this is the case... please share your thoughts.

Hey guys, did u reliz that in is latest album, there isnt use of his mesmerising elements such as :
1.Air Flute
2.Flute
3.Veenai
4.Table/Mrigandham/Tavil (except Mupatha Nimidham)
5.Strings
6.Claps
THis are is best elements man, when i listen to his old albums, all hsi songs mostly contains these stuff...See how Harris is using them,he has stolen arr's idea man...Even his kaake kaake has veenai man,and our man's album r lack of his Expertiz!!..Discuss on this more!!!

Dinesh; you do have a valid point about AR not using some of the "mesmerizing" instruments. However, i am glad that AR is working with new items; transcending tamil music once again. But the sad part is; i am not sure if Rahman's futuristic music will be able to compete with other MDs who touch the heart of many music lovers with the same re-used tunes... This was the negativity that surrounded the Tamil Film Music; when AR stepped up to the stage; now it seems that old idea of re-used music is back again..
I like your criticims; but you needs to appreciate the effort AR takes to experiment new ideas even if it results in flops after flops. I am very glad that we have atleast one person in Tamil Film Music; aspiring to bring new, fresh music to our ears...
i wish everyone would adapt to Rahman's futurisitic music like i have..
please comment.

lol- the problem with sum of u ppl,is that u think that music has only one form...ARR produces everythin...so ok,it aint chartbustin, but its betta than sum of th otha cliched stuff we gettin...th tfm industry today, has taken off from ARR-sure IR was a master, and probably an even more talented musician, but the fact is ARR set th trends...and now he has th respect and flexibility to do wat he wants...i admit,i'm a huge ARR fan,and i do miss some of th soulful, emotion stirrin stuff he creates...but every song he composes has a new level of competence about it. as for ur 'new style'..lol- call it wat u want...but i think th word ur lookin for is music

Though I am not a big fan of ARR, I really liked songs from kathal virus. Parasuram is a let-down (except that the kathakali is a not-so-bad song). What's missing in ARR's songs is that his rythms are catchy but there is nothing great about his tunes and that's why his songs dont stay for long. He is trying hard to be unique and so he is a bit experimental. But that sometimes fail him. I can listen to his Roja, kandukonden songs even today but I couldn't listen to udhaya and parasuram more than once... One thing is quite clear. People don't buy his CDs just blindly anymore. They seem to think twice before buying... this wasn't the case before. (but I have a feeling that he is going to give a big hit with boyz bcos Shankar knows how to extract the best out of him). I really wish he uses SPB in all his movies. SPB is the only singer who can make a dull tune a great one.

Can Rahman's busy schedule be an answer for his latest downfall??
Rahman needs lot of time to put together quality songs and since he is working on more songs in hindi, tamil, english nowadays;; it seems its difficult for him to put 100% in each album...
yet; i hope this is not the case..

I think anotha reason why ppl r not takin to his music,is that its that much harder to do somthin new these days...he's also no longer got Harris Jeyraj, and Pravin Mani to provide more input.thats not to say that he's reliant on them, but that is a reasonin for th difference in music-jus a thought

I like Parasuram quite a bit. It's better than his other recent albums like Udaya and Kadhal Virus. I've been listening to it a lot in the past few days. Perhaps ARR doesn't pay as much attention to melodies in the past, but I think his experiments in combining different sounds yields good music. He can't keep doing Roja forever.

Nothing is great in parasuram.Horrible songs except dolna.
Dolna is a copy of YSR's music. It is from the movie named VELAI.Song kunnooru poochatti.

Do you mean the structure of the songs?
like the table and the duet passages? There is nothing wrong if they are similar.
If you say tune is copied then you should have alien ears!! I cant find absoluteley no similarities in tune

From the begining I suspected and felt there's no soul in ARR's music. Only when the barage of newcomers came into TFM then it became obvious to the majority. I guess ppl are being entertained by the so many MDs and in the end ARR is not a big deal after all.

You guys are a joke. Some of you don't even deserve to criticize ARR and you still do. No on has made a bigger impact in the Indian Music Industry than ARR. If this is the case; why are you constantly comparing ARR to some of the local MDs in TFM. ARR should only be compared to the likes on international artists.
If my memory serves correct; he's known as the "king of pop" in INDIA...
The king is still ruling.. and he is there to stay for years to come with his thrown still strong on top of his head...
ARR is the KING, so the outcasts please do not offend what the king has to offer; probably becasue you are not intellectual enough to appreciate his givings....
Some of the people in newtfmpage are resistant to change and too bad they live in a world where ARR is the KING.
