For many days, I felt that I should have a thread to share some of the articles about ARR in desi and international press and website. I intend to start this thread and expect others also to post some articles about ARR here.

  :) that was some mail!!
  i think we cant dispute most of wut was sed in that mail...
  but still...like i sed in my earlier mail...post arr..IR has nothing
  to speak of...nothing to show...
  its clear from that mail that the writer is someone who is totally
  well versed with IR's career... and as if to support my claims...all
  the songs and films listed by him have been pre arr...the latest
  film being thalapathi!!!
  i think none of us would be silly enuf to say IR was a "zero"...i
  mean im sure all of us have enjoyed his melodies sometime or the
  other...at least before arr turned up on the scene...
  
  and abt IR using technology...come on!! gimme a break!!!! first of
  all it was not vikram...but it was punnagai mannan when IR used
  computers for music making first time...and ofcourse it was ARR who
  did the programming.... and we all know that it was viji manuel
  (IR's keyboardist) who suggested that ARR leave IR's stable and
  start somehting on his own... cos he believed computers had no place
  in IR's studio...
  and stereo??? IR?? :) :)
  ok!! now if someone tells u that TV sales increased cos someone uses
  stereo effects in their music...then u can take it for granted that
  the person knows very little...TV STILL WORKS IN MONO!!!! :) :) all
  the songs which r shown on TV...they r mixed on mono (jus for that
  specific purpose)...ask any engineer he will tell u!!! and those
  TV's which have the "stereo boost" etc...they jus play the same mono
  track on nbothe the left and right channels...thats it! (ofcourse
  when i sed TV im not taking into account the DVD players with
  5.1 ..jus the TV set!)
  
  and i sed in my earlier mail on the same topic that IR's symphony
  was not up to the mark...i happened to meet a guitarist yesterday
  (for obvious reasons i dont wanna take names in here) who is an 8th
  grader from trinity college of music...and whos been playing for IR
  in recordings for quite some time now...and who has a 50 yr
  experience in studio recordings...he told me that IR's symphony cant
  even be called that! apparently it was no where near any symphonic
  standards! like i sed no one is a fool to spend thousands of dollars
  to assemble a symphonic orchestra and record a symphony and not
  release it!!! why even metallica's "Symphony and Metallica" sold
  like hot cakes...among metallica and non-metallica fans alike!!!
  tats the reach of a symophony orchestra!!
  
  actually ...i can think of a song for every situation that the
  writer has listed in his mail...at least for most of the
  situations...ivent seen all arr movies...maybe someone with the
  patience and someone who has seen all rahman movies can comeup with
  corresponding facts :) :) maybe gops or ambu or vijay or vinod...
  
  and ennavale....flute piece by a foreign composer?? ive never known
  any worthwile band other than jethro tull whove used the flute
  properly!! and i know how naveen works!!! ive heard first hand
  accounts from people who have recorded with naveen...(my friend's
  bassist refused to come for recording sessions for 3 days when he
  heard naveen play!!! he thought he had no right to be playing for
  the same song in which naveen is playing...and lemme tell u hes an
  awesome bassist...technically reputed to be as good as keith!!) that
  man has got an awesome creativity!! to me...totally unmatched when u
  compare other session cats...naveen has so much stock in him and its
  highly unlikely that both arr and naveen sat together one fine
  morning and decided to lift that "carnatic" flute piece from an
  unnamed foreign composer... and if he did... I would like to see
  that ananda vikadan interview where he agreed he lifted!!!
  
  And the lesser spoken abt IR's magnanimity the better!!! :) :) :)

  To all the Decade of Psycho Vaitheruchal Sh*ts here,
  
  What happened to all the sweet talk trying so hard to convince the normal ppl here that you guys are not sick m*****r f*****s! Tortured souls trying to infiltrate into IR forums in a unpleasant way? What happened? Caved in due to too much pressure? Please let us know. Coz it makes us happy.
  
  You are only making all of us just too happy. Apart from showing your sudden volcanic stomach eruptions, ie. just because of the all the attention that IR is getting from BBC and just because many ppl are re/discovering him and his movies of late and his works of late, you poor ruptured souls have resorted to so many indirect mud slinging. Gosh, you are even bigger bigot than al-qaieda.
  
  It still doesn't end. AY, while he is still AY, he will certainly behave like AY.
  
  WN, while trying to say nice things about IR, gives it away, intentionally or unintenionally, about how he disapproves of IR and what is going on. Another one who really 'thaanga mudiyavillai' all the happenings of IR. WN lost it.
  
  And to another real goon who tried to put down IR's Rakkamma Kaiya Thattu song with this quote,"If Mani had not given such a situation, with all the possibilities open, this song may not have come about." I got news for you, if the same Mani did not discover or get recommended to take ARR, then which sh*t hole do you think he would still be in still producing pathetic Airtel like commercials with Riverdance's or Enya's 'inspirations'?
  
  While so many IR forums here are bustling away with activities, you decade of pathetic psychos are trying so hard to do the same for all/any ARR forums. Just take a look how many ppl visit here and also take a look at how many different people this decade of shit. Also take a look of what you talk about and the constant patting on each others
  backs ALL THE TIME ....seems more like gay activities goin on here. errrr....shivers!
  
  Halo, gentleman or gentleponnus or wateva you are, please go shove yourself. No problem if you want to retaliate. It makes us all...all the more happier :)

  anyway...we are happy IR is getting his recognition....congrats...
  
  our Maestro ARR says.."I hope there will be more of us go to West and impress them"..

  A message on Bapsi Sidhwa - Author of Ice candy Man

  hi guys,
  
  Bapsi Sidhwa was at my university tonight for a lecture, so I got to
  ask her a few questions. For all of you who are not familiar with
  Bapsi Sidhwa, she's the author of the famous novel Ice Candy Man,
  which was put to film in EARTH by Deepa Mehta.
  
  I asked her a couple of questions regarding WATER, and here's what
  she had to say. I am not qouting her...I'm just writing down all that
  I can remember right now.
  
  Me: Did you contribute to the script of WATER?
  BS: Thank God, NO! (smiles) because there's too much controversy
  surrounding the film. They had spent over $1 million on the sets of
  the film when the sets were attacked and destroyed.
  
  She mentioned some instances where she wasnt quite familiar with film-
  making and how different things were on film, so I asked her whether
  there was any rift between her and Deepa over EARTH. She said no, and
  that there had to be some differences between the book and the film
  because there are completely different medias and she has absolutely
  no regrets over how the film was made.
  
  She also briefly mentioned the outline of the script of WATER. She
  said that it involved 3 widows. And she mentioned the names of
  Shabana Azmi, Nandita Das & Manisha Koirala for those three roles.
  
  Ok, this is the more interesting part...
  
  When I got the opportunity to talk to her personally, she said that
  she had gone over the script of WATER. I asked her to give me some
  details on the script.
  
  She said that Nandita Das (I dont remember exactly what she said) was
  a widow who goes into prostitution where a Brahman falls in love with
  her. Before he gets to marry her he finds out that she had slept with
  his father's friend. So he leaves her and she commits suicide.
  
  That's all she would say on the script. However, she said that they
  tried shooting in Sri Lanka and that also was unsuccessful because
  Sony was involved with the film and 'they' (she didnt say who they
  were) threatened to cancel Sony's license in India if the film went
  through production. As in they wouldnt let Sony operate in India if
  the film was made.
  
  When I asked her about WATER's music, she said that it was "amazing!"
  (I'm qouting her here :) ). She didnt seem too enthusiastic about the
  music of EARTH though, coz when I asked her how well she thought the
  music went with the film, she plainly said something like it went
  well.
  
  Also, for the Pakistani members, Bapsi said that she had forwarded a
  request to President Musharraf to allow the EARTH to be released in
  Pakistan after some a few edits, but she says that she doesnt have
  any hopes for that to come through.
  
  So that's about it. By the end of it, she must've been willing to
  kill me because I kept coming up to her with questions and

  Amongst the stage stars in attendance at Friday's launch party for the 2003 Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers' Choice Awards, there was also one wannabe. Narinder Kaur, aka mate to Brian and Bubble on last year's Big Brother 2, slipped in to the bash and in front of the media cameras. Accompanied by her agent, Kaur is apparently keen to strut her stuff on stage in Bombay Dreams, one of this year's nominees for Best New Musical. Does she have a chance? Producer Andrew Lloyd Webber has mad no secret of the fact that he believes suitable Asian performers for the show are in short supply (See The Goss, 21 Oct 2002). According to other rumours, he's also looking to Bollywood itself, which inspired the West End hit, for casting replacements. Hindi heartthrob Hrithik Roshan - star of films including Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Mission Kashmir - is said to be keen."
