Whom you think as the Top Singers(Male & Female) of South Indian Film Music

Hi Friends,
Competition is prevailing every where, in Cinema field it is more.
So , I have a query for you folks, from the begining of the South Indian Films,whom do you think as the top singers(male and female) ...?

You can select up to 5 singers in both the categories.
For our convience, we shall divide the period in to three parts:
1953 - 1970 ----- category I
1970 - 1990 ------ category II
1990 - till date --- category III

Top Male singers in Category I:

1. T.M.S.
2. P.B.S.

Category II:

1. S.P.B.
2. K.J. Yesudoss
3. M.Vasudevan

Category III:

1. S.P.B.
2. K.J.Y.
3. Hari Haran
4. Mano
5. Unni Menon/ Unni Krishnan/Srinivas


Female Singers:

Category I:

1. P.Susheela

Category II:

Category III:

1. K.S. Chitra

IS there anyone I missed..? This list is based on the chances they got in those periods and also there fame at that time. This is not personal opinion, I have put forth this topic, now you music lovers will decide who is top singer.

  How about Karthik in the Category III.
  
  PS was strong from 1955 till 1985/86. I do not know how she was brought down to no.2 in Category II.

  Also my opinion is in Category III, KJY and SPB should not figure as their peak period was almost over by that time :-)

  In 1970-90, Uma Ramanan deserves a slot above Shailaja, if not Chitra.

  spb is still very much around and he sings equally as new comers. so as long as spb is there, he will remain the numero uno.

  Karthik is singing from last year, he ahs sung only for 40 films(I think so), he will top only from this year. and also Sadhana is singing only a song one film, she is no that much mobilized in TFM.

  P.Susheela was at number 1 from 1956 - 1974/75, after that she was at top in telugu film music. It was Janaki who was number one in that period. Along that Ilayarajaa came, so it was obviously Janaki at Number 1

  Hi Pranav, the topic is for South Indian Film Music - not for TFM alone.. SJ may have joined PS in sharing honours in TFM - may be from 1975.. PS ruled in TeFM till 1990 ... PS is THE female singer in SoFM.. Nobody can reach her,,

  In that case, there will be a stiff competition between PS and SJ. SJ is supposed to have been the most prolific singer in Kannada films for decades. She was at the top in Malayalam films as well till the advent of Chitra.

  Ho, thankyo, avr and others, I fogot the topic and missed so many singers in my list.
  
  In KFM, SJ was the top singer from 1958 to 1990 , no one was there to shake her in KFM. Even PS was not much mobilized in KFm.
  in KFM, PBS was the number 1 singer, then it was SPB , and then it was KJY.
  VJ and Shailaja was not that much mobiolized in KFM. Afer 1989, it was CVhitra who got chance in KFm, but still SPB and KJY were there.
  In recent years, singers like Hemanth and Rajesh Krishnan are good singers and are gettting good songs. RAjesh has sung few songs in HIndia, telugu and TAmil. For his first song in TElugu he got Andhra State govt. award.
  Now a days, singers like NAnditha, Anuradha Sriram is getting chances in female category. But still, CHitra and SPB are ruling KFM.
  Even TFM singers like DEvan, Madhu Balakrishna have sung in KFM

  All you guys talk about Madhu Balakrishnan as if he is a legend. He is just a newcomer who is AVERAGE. He has sung only a few songs and his diction is not clear - it seems like Biju Narayanan he sings with a 'laddu' in his mouth or something. Don't please put Jesudas, SPB, Hariharan along with Madhu. He is just a new kid on the block - let him first some out on top among new guys in his category - Vidhu Pratap, Balram etc.
  
  Unni Menon is well established, has some great songs in Tamil and Malayalam and along with Sreenivas is one of the popular singers in tamil
