1/2 trouser Ramarajan...

No doubt our beloved 1/2 trouser was a pain 2 watch but his movie soundtracks were outstanding till this day...an equivalent to mike pugal mohan who ruled the 80's...but ramarajan ruled the 90's..

from his 1st movie enga ooru pattukaran to his last hit karagattakaran, the music was excellent...any comments...

my favourites were...

enga oru pattukaran,
rasavey unnai nambi,
ooru vittu ooru vanthu,
karagattakan which ran for more than year..
ennai vittu pogathey,
raja rajathan,
enga ooru kavalkaran & puthu pattu..

  being a maatukaaran no wonder his films had a "maaa" thathuva paadal! :)
  also...in dat film he wud sing with an azhukku veshti and azhukku thundu on stage....that too world music festival! .... hats off to the director :)

  I think Ramarajan s best song is "Marudha marikozhundhu" .
  
  Sorgame enraalum s also a fav. The only disheartening thing bout that song is that Singapore poi kooda "vethalai a madichi, maman adha kadichi, thuppa oru vazhi illaye"!!!! Ippdi oru sogam!

  'enga ooru kadhallapatthi enna ninaikure?' is from Puthu Pattu. Heroine is Suma Ranganath.The other heroine is not kasturi .. she is Kaveri(Avaram Poo).Again this is R.Sundarrajan movie.Raja never fails to give gr8 songs for Sundarrajan.There is a german song in this movie.If u hear that song now..u can feel the real freshness in it.

  "Pudhu Paattu " songs are outstanding. I think songs like " Enga Ooru Kaadhal" by IR & Asha Bhosle and "Nethu Orutharai Oruthar " , IR & Chithra are from this fila and are just too much what Rama Rajan really deserves.
  
  I also rememeber bits like " Veththalai Paakku Poda Kathhukka" and a German song which arte really very pleasant and apt to the theme of the movie.

  Douser ramarajan was our modern day "sambar" nayakan like gemini ganesan...thats why we got different emotion/ sentimental songs depicting mother's love, sister's love & not forgetting animal's love..:)
  
  & his most his movie titles had "Enga" & "Ooru" ...
  
  Enga oorr kavalkaran/ pattukaran/ aatukaran...
  ooru vittu ooru vanthu..
  namma ooru nalla ooru..(I believe this was his 1st movie rather than enga ooru pattukaran)..

  "sondham ondrai thedum annakili" is from the movie "Ennai petha rasa"....douser & rupini acted in the movie...
  
  Pongi varum kaveri introduced arunmozhi 2 us( though it might also be "varathu vantha nayagan" from Parthiban's Thalattu Padava) ...

  b) Velli kolusu mani - Pongi varum Kaveri
  c) Thenamum sirichu - Pongi varum Kaveri
  d) Mannavam vaazhum - Pongi varum Kaveri
  e) Solai malai oram - Villupattukkaran
  f) Thanthen thanthen - Villupattukkaran (our lips doesnt touch anywhere when u sing this song)
  g) Thom thom - Villupattukkaran (another song in Ramapriya ragam, after Mogamul song)
  h) Malai karukkalile - Enga ooru kavakkaran

  I like these songs in RR's movies, though he doesn't deserve them
  1. Thana vanda sandaname - karaharapriya raagam sung by SPB/SJ in some film.
  2. Oorellam un paatu thaan is a lovely song on Bhimplaas raaga sung by KJY in the film Oorellam un paatu
  3. Soalai malai oram - oh what a melody!!!Villupatukkaran
  4. Vaasile pooshanipoo vachadenna from (Shenbagame)**2

  IMO, RR didn't deserve wonderful numbers like these.
  1. Oorellam un paatu thaan - this song is on Bhimplaas raaga , sung by KJY from film Oorellam un paatu
  2. Thaana vanda sandaname is another beautiful song in Karaharapriya raaga sung by SPB/SJ
  3. Solai malai oram - Oh what a melody!!!

  There is anothre RR movie Thangamaana Raasa which had nice songs like 'kanne en kaviriye' (IR). Another good song is Petha manasu suthathilum suthamada from Enna petha rasa.

  Sabesan or any others,
  I am looking for "Manja podi thekayile" from the movie "Senbagame Senbagame". It has outstanding interludes. Most of the web-sites (dhool.com, raaga etc)have "Raasathi Manasule" as part of this movie which I think if wrong. If any of you have the mp3 or atleast a link to the above mentioned song, I would be grateful. I have been looking for this song for a few years now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
