Hey ..the Brahma song 'ivaL oru ilangkuruvi' song sounds exactly like 'engirundho azhaikkum'. Another Mounam Sammadham song sounds like 'rAjAdhi rAja' nadhiyA song.

THANK YOU, REX ARUL!! This is one of the best collection of songs I've heard in over 20 years!!
Is there any way I can download any of the songs onto my hard drive so I can play it without having to logon?? I'm a huge fan of Jesudas--both Tamil and Malayalam--his "Uravugal thodharkathai", Velambal Kelum (Olangal), etc. are some of the best I've heard since I left India in 1985. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.

The song Nee parthu parvai in the movie HEY RAM by Kavita Krishna Murthi and Hariharan reminds me of the background
humming of the Maestro in POOVELAM KETTUPAR

I was just listening to 'How to name it?'. It's really good. Did you guys notice how much IR was influenced by film music. I am not sure if this was supposed to be symphony type of music or just a classical album but here is what I noticed.
In the intervals between 5:27 and 5:50 the violins seem to play the famous song 'azhagiya nilavena athil varum' sung by SPB, Chithra. Just towards 6:30 the music reminds one of his great violin bits in Thalapathi in the song 'Sundari kannaal'. There may be more but I wasn't concentrating quite so hard.
BTW, what exactly is I met Bach in my House supposed to symbolise?

It's not that they play those songs. I meant the tunes resemble those songs.
And has he used his 'Nothing But Wind' music for some film? It's seems familiar but I can't recall where I heard it from? Must be some movie, especially the beginning. I know he has used similar to that beginning in movies.

aruvi!
The HTNI cover gives the following description on `I met Bach in my house' & `...And we had a talk' pieces:
"
I met Bach in my house
begins with an invocation that at first is contemplative, introspective and becomes increasingly importunate; it comes to a climax, and is interrupted by the first notes of Bach's Prelude to his violin Partita III. The Prelude is soon played out in full in a brilliant dialogue with Indian instruments, a contrapuntal weaving that seems completely natural. Nor does it seems strange when voices break in spontaneously, in rapturous song, and we hear the Prelude articulated at speed in Indian solfeggio, so neatly, so fluently, that a great light dawns - the two musical cultures, Indian and Western - share common ground, far more than is commonly perceived.
...And we had a talk
follows directly from the meeting with Bach. This time, a Bach Bourree is presented in a contrapuntal Indian setting.
"
Hence it probably symbolizes the kind of fusion IR is attempting...

I am looking for a very rare IR song-Maargazhi paarvai paarkava.
movie-uyire unakkaaga.
I know ,I know-before you reach out to your keyboard to type out the correction, this was a namme under which a prabhu starrer was started, but never completed-subsequently the rights for the name was acquired by kovaithambi for which LP scored the music.
this is an absolutely beautiful song sung by SPB and SJ with lyrics by vairmuthu.the songs came out in 84.
