Although she is not very famous female singer
still she have recieved award for best female play back singer and gave some hit songs.
I like her voice so much which is something different!

  Swarnalatha is one of the most talented singers around! Infact she is most most fav. singer I place her above. SJ and Chitra. (ofcourse i dont expect anyone to agree with me in this)
  
  Her rendition of "aatama therottama", "hai rama", "mukkabala" , "porale ponnuthaye" is simply vintage. Till recently even in Tenali "poorkalam" she hasnt lost her class.
  
  It is unfortunate that inspite of ARR introeing her in HFM she hasnt clicked there also!

  She has not lost her golden voice yet. Listen to Tulli-Tulliyai, from Parvai ondre pothumey.But i think the music directors are only using her for sad songs/ slow songs , such as :
  -en ulle (valli)
  -Malaiyil yaaro (Satriyan)
  -yevenno oruvan (Alaipayuthey)
  and many more.
  By the way, what happened to Sunantha and uma Ramanan? They are good singers who disappeared without any trace.

  Swarnalatha's two songs in Allith thantha vaanam bring class to the otherwise average album. Her song Thirumana malargal in PUVaasam is just perfect. Vidyasagar has brought the best out of her in all these songs.
  
  Dheena has given three duets in Naan Paada Ninaippathellam to her. Though all these songs resemble some old songs, Muthu Muthu Raagam is beautiful.

  Swarnalatha is a talented singer and she has a wonderful voice similar to Lata Mang. First time when i heard a song on Chinna Thambi, I thought that was Lata, From those days until now, she still in the market, she never do down or go up, maintain.... until now she got chance, not like certain singer... dont know where they gone.. Her another wonderful songs Thirumana Malargaleh.. in Ajit Jothika film.... you ccc... she still good. Unfortunely there is not much detail about her, I always admire on her voice, so far many singer came to Malaysia for show, but she is very seldom, may be she like more homely gil..... anyway she has a wonderful voice, for sure.   i like her songs but she killed some songs example Pranth's TAMIZH has a KANNU KULLA KADHALAA..that song has sung by Unnikrishnan & Swarnalatha.Unnik really sings very well but she killed that songs but it still hit 'cause Unnikri & Bharathraj.guys if u dont trust me just listen twice u should know.

She struggles to reacch higher notes.. and you are telling she met higher notes without any difficulty as S.Janaki. there is no one near to S.Janaki She is Unique in all the ways.   am not here for "kozhayadi sandai" with you. as i know u always use very strong and bitter statements notwithstanding other's views and statements. yes it was my opinion. i hv the right to state.. u don hv the right to ask me to prove.
  
  In my opinion, SJ's voice becomes kizhavi, when she tries to reach heights.
  
  If swarnalatha can not reacg hts, how ARR can give the most difficult songs to her. this is a proof.

  When you just can't prove ur statements in a GD, it means that you don't have any stuffs in you to tell so..
  No doubt, Swarna latha is a good singer. SHe is verstailed when compared to KSC, SS, SG , AR ..
  But, your statement of reaching high notes is not fare. HEr voice fluctuates in b/w . That what I came to say. I am not a Poriki to quarrel with Fellow Human Beings.
