.mp3 is an audio format (like .wav) where a sound file can be compressed to the ratio of 1 MB per minute of CD-quailty sound. ( imagine, CD- quality instead of realaudio crap ! ).

There is already a good hindi mp3 site at

Does anyone know where I may be able to get tamil mp3 files from the net ?

MP3 file sound quality is amazing!

Due to their astounding quality of MP3 files are considered to be real Copyright violation.

That is correct Sanjay!

Not only the file links but also the link itself is not working now.

When I contacted the guy who created this page, he says Fortunecity people have removed his MP3 files on purpose - just because there being MP3 files!

Sorry to mislead you.

Hope let us get some new links in this posting.

Hi Everybody,
After hearing to mp3 i was so thrilled.It is really the pure form of music on the web.The saddest aprt now is we dont have tamil songs in mp3.for the guys who inquistive and interested in hearing download a mp3 player .If you ask me i can suggest a nice player which is free to download(winamp) which you can run on windows 95/NT platform.It only take few of the disk space and is VERY EASY to DOWNLOAD.By the way the foll is the URL for winamp download.

I will search the web for tamil songs.If i find any i will post it in this thread.
hope some of TFM DF members come up with a tamil mp3 site.

If anybody has tamil songs on CD, it is very easy to record it into (.wav) format and then using an mp3 encoder (see below ) convert it into mp3 format and have it posted on their home page.

I 'm form Jamaica and don't have access to ARR tamil CDs so if anybody could get the Jeans songs (esp. poovokul) converted into mp3 format it would be much apprceiated.

I would like to suggest the people whjo have mp3 songs to put into some free websites
like tripod etc they give lots of free MB.
Please TFM< needs lots of MP3 files

see TFM links page for a new site having mp3 songs. it has songs from i love india, ulle veliye etc. the film names are wrongly put down.

The site address http://home.att.net/~Teekster/ given by Sanjay claiming it to be a site for Hindi MP3 songs, is INCORRECT.

I have checked the site there are Hindi songs, let alone the MP3 format.
