BEST TAMIL FILM ALBUM ---2OOO

All the audio CDS and Cassettes meant for this year's tamil films are out in the market. With no IR & ARR albums pending for the year which is ypur BEST film ALBUM for 2000. Kannukkul Nilavu or Barathi?? K. kondene or Alai payethey or Rytham??
or Kushi or Mugavari,,Vanathaipola or Mayee???OR Any other film of your choice ?????

My choice Alaipayuthey.( only the songs ,not the movie) Singer(M)...S,mahadevan.(F) Sadhana sargam.

  Best singer(Female): chitra -en idhayam idhayam neeye raasathi(iLaiyavan)
  Best new singer(Male): Madhu balakrishnan and Harish

  Trend and UV i have been in this DF for more than 3 years and i have seen several polls and never participated in any as i know what the results are going to be.
  
  Trust me this is what you will be seing at end of 2000.
  
  I personally know couple of forumers who will blindly vote for an album (even if they have not heard any song from that album)just bcoz it was done by their fav MD.
  
  I have even seen people voting for albums released
  couple of years before:))

  Now I see what you were trying to say. Point taken. Sorry. Am new to this forum and am quite shocked to see that people are not appreciative of new comers. I don't say they shoudn't be carrying torches for their heroes, but degrading other people's music as junk is shocking. It's as if they take great pride in doing so. Evallavu veruppu eno???

  Best Song: Kannamoochie, Thaniye Thanga Nathiye, Pachai Nirame (From each movie respectively)

  Stop talking abt the past. Even i was IR's big time fan once. But not anymore...I'm totally pissed off with IR's compositions right after the arrival of Rehman. Can ya list a good album of IR after 1992? Even if u could i'm sure it'll be crap and u r trying to defend IR. So,instead of poking at the new Mds, try to appreciate them and welcome them. Film music is a business nowadays. Rehman is the king of that trade and now Harris Jeyaraj with his "Minnale" has proved that he is the prince. Minnale songs are already the top cassette sellers in chennai. Simply if u call it a copy of old songs it doesn't mean so...Do ya think the people in channai are fools and u guys are the only bunch of music lovers? Better grow up guys...Come out of IR's ring. He is out...He is already out of the commercial tamil music. This is how my voting going to be:

  Well, we all know who Ramki would likely have voted for now:-)))
  
  The best album in my opinion would go to 'Alaipayudhey' because all the numbers in it were appreciated, 'even' the mediocre 'september maadham'. I personally think that it was not upto ARR's previous greats like Roja-Bombay-Duet-Dilse etc...but it stands out in the releases of last year. Although KK songs were praised...I didn't like them all that much....nor did the public for I heard that the sales were not impressive, especially coming from ARR.
  
  I think 'Tenali' is ARR's worst product in a few years...but some people seem to like it(?)....
  
  The only song I really liked having heard this year was in telugu 'marala telupana'. Otherwise...except for Sadhana's 'Snegithane' I can't think of anything worth mentioning in tamil.

  i dont know why, but personally i dont like both KK and Alaipayuthae. to me the best songs are from jodi (i think it came in 2000) even though it is a rehash of doli sazhake rakkna. But if you dont count on that then my vote goes to Bharathy and Rhythm(believe me coz both albums r very good in their own respect). As far as individual song is concerned i have more than one but i want to specify three they are "ninnai charan adaindhaen" from bharathy, "katrae yen.." from rhythm and "kannamoochi yaenada.." from KK. My vote for Best lyrics goes to pulavar pulamaipithhan for the song "yedhilum ingu irppaan avan yaaro" from bharathy. i personally feel this song is far better than any lyrics by even vairamuthu's in 2000. jodi's kadhal kadidham theetaavae comes second(again, if it can be counted). others are paethals in my taste and imho. but my vote for best MD is ARR, he has done four good albums in KK, alaipayuthae, rythm and jodi.

  Best Copy album : Kushi

  Why is it that practically every discussion in this forum eventually turns into a war of words between ARR's and IR's fans? Come on folks, stop this.
  
  Well, that aside, I think the best album this year has to be Kandukondain Kandukondain. The best song, however, is "Vande Mataram" from "Bharathy". Best lyricist, well we haven't had any exceptional work in that department this year, so I don't know about that. The songs in "Bharathy" were certainly good, but I don't think it is correct to call Mahakavi Bharathiar a lyricist for film songs.
  
  How about a new category? Best Interlude? I think it has to be the interludes in "Snaehidhanae Snaehidhanae" from "Alaipaiyuthey".

  Best prelude for a song - 'Nilavin amudhu ozhuga' from Ilaiyavan
  Best first interlude - Kannukkul nilavu - KJ Yesudas / Anuratha sriram song ...
  Best second interlude - Snehidhane - Srinivas chorus
  Best ending music - HeyRAm - laavani song

  Best MD-IR(who else could be the best) for all the above albums.
  Best male singer-IR for all the songs he sang.
  Best female singer-IR..er.. sorry..Bhavatharini
  Best lyrics-no lyrics were good enough(IR has stopped writing lyrics).
  Best song-all the songs of IR I especially like "adida melathe" from Kannukkul Nilavu.Great song way to go!
  
  I would like to take the liberty of posting my worst collections too.
  Worst MD-ARR
  Worst album-Kandukondain Kandukondain(absolute crap)
  Worst male singer-Shankar M for "enna solla" and "thaniye"
  Worst female singer-Chitra for "enge enathu kavithai" and "kannamoochi"
  Worst lyrics-Bharathidasan for "suttum vizhi"
  worst song-Enge enathu kavithai from KK.all of ARR's songs are equally worse.But this has a slight edge.
