If SP Bala is so great , why has Bollywood rejected him?

SP bala never sings in hindi...he is not in demand!

By the way I am being devils advocate here, I myself am a great fan of SP bala but i would like the listeners reaction to this statement

  Many of my North Indian friends, does not know who Lord Muruga is. Very few of them know that Muruga is Lord Ganesha's brother.

  regarding your point ..ganesha is an aryan god..the north indians identies themselves with him..he is fair if u are to notice..were as MURUGAN id a dravidian god..and to state it precisely ..he is dark..thats why you will never find a north indiam named murugan..the hinduism is based on myths...and civilisation ..mythological characters are immortalised based on the characterisation which appeals to sections of people...

  I also want to point out that during his songs for Shankarabaranam, SPB didn't even have command over sanskrith. So if you think he can't sing in a language he can't speak you are dead wrong. He has sung Hindi songs but I think that his market is not great demand there because of who he is (not northie) than how good he is.

  As per our reliable sources SPB has not sung in Chinese, mandarin, russian, vietnamese too. (If you would prefer indian languages then bengali, panjabi, marathi etc too). so?
  fliflo's logic is correct. SPB did not go after these chances. Whatever he got were due to some south indian connections. He did those well. That's what matters. Singing in HFM is no measure of greatness.

  I do not feel SP bala has a problem with the hindi or urdu language, this is nonsense take for example Naushad's Teri Payal mere geet! Saajan, Maine Pyar kiya!
  And i find like in tamil and telgu, he manages to emote the same mannerisms and expressions in his rendering, in some cases even more ,take for example the song Anbe Anbe-Kadhal Desam. The hindi version u may say is even better than the telgu and tamil version.Some lines in the song have truly amazingly been sung!
  
  So in conclusion the language is no bloody hinderence to his singing.
  Has anyone asked SP bala Sir himself why he has stopped singing in hindi?
  
  In all honesty i am a die hard SP bala fan. I do not understand tamil or telgu but i still passionately listen to his voice and would like more people to appreciate him and give credit where due! And for maximum exposure he needs to be heard through a medium which is presented to a more diverse listening audience namely the BOllywood industry!
  I would appeal to ar rahman specifically to use sp bala in his hindi albums so we can enjoy both these masters in collaboration!

  north indian film wallahs never gave recognition to quality. only sanjeev kumar , a really great actor was given due respect. very very ordinary acotrs like rishi, shashi, shammi were given extrodinary importance and this may include dilip kumar(although he was good in certain movies) Kamalahassn a truly great actor in the 80's and early 90's was not given importance and was dumped. So north indians filmmakers have thier own vision on film making where quality was at a discount.

  How do u know the above is true? R u an expert in religion who has been conducting historical studies for years? Becos, even those qualified experts won't say something like tat wit so much confidence. Apart from being irrelevant to the topic, that statement is baseless and should have been omitted.

  Becoz he is the best amongst the other more awful singers ala Kumar Sanu and Sonu Nigam :-)

  good question, let's see how they answer that.
  
  here are some other question;
  
  1) If M.rafi was so great how come he never sang any Tamil songs?
  
  2) If Amitabh batchan is All india Super, how come he never acted in Tamil Movies
  
  3) Lata & asha have only sung few tamil songs, but SPB have sung hundreds of Hindi songs, mainly for Salman Khan, Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakaraborti & Kamal Hasan, in fact SPB got his National award, for his first hindi film "Ek duche kiliye",this was his second national award that time, after the awsome "shankaraparanam".
  
  4) Sivaji Ganeshan is way better actor than Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, how many northies are aware of this greatest actor?
  
  5)SPB & KJY are only singers in India to have won 7 national awards, south had many other greats like Ghantasala, how many northies have even heard of these legends?
  
  6) SPB & KJY are only singers in India to date to sing more than 40,000 songs, do you think singing that amount of songs is a joke???
  
  Salman Khan during his early days, requested that SPB must sing for him, due to SPB's Muscular voice, all Salman's super hits like
  
  Saajan
  Hum Apke khon
  Meine pyar kiya
  
  are rendered by SPB,these songs were the success to Salman's movies.
  
  SPB's voice would not suit many younger generation Hindi Actors, like Aamir, Sharuk, Hrithik as they all have soft feminine voice, where else SPB's mascular voice would only suit, manly actors like, Jackie, Salman, Mithun, ..etc, hence the reason why SPB does not sing in Hindi.
  
  
  Other factor any south indian artist who are great, like SPB, Sivaji go un noticed, by the northies, as northies are very narrow minded & do not like any body else taking their place, so they would carry on useing no good third grade singers like, Hariharan , Udit, kumar Sanu, Shanker,Sukwinder singh, Sonu Nigam, ....etc.

  I respect SPB's songs in the South, and hate his awfully accented Hindi songs. Nevertheless SPB could be India's greatest singer.
  
  However please tell me what is meant by SPB's

  As far as my knowledge of biology goes, there are hardly any muscles in the "vocal chords". Or am I missing something? :-))))))

  I think you are over-praising SPB although I believe no praise is too-much for SPB.Let's take your musical appreciation in a different direction.If I'm correct you also mentioned SJ as your fav singer.
  
  Why don't you start a thread(s) on SJ and tells us about her range of voice and her unique talents?I learnt a lot of valuable info about SPB's talents and his range of voice from you.I would like to learn the same about SJ too.I'm assuming you have the same respect for SJ too.
