Sandiyar renamed as Virumandi and cassette released

The most awaited sandiyar album is released .I heard all the songs.It has totally ten songs out of which 6 songs are sung by kamal himself and two are sung by illayaraja and 2 numbers by shreyaghosal.All the songs are perfect folk and 100% traditional tamil folk songs and the lyrics are excellent in the madurai slang and all are situational songs.I will meet u again with a detailed review.buy the album immediately for die-hard fans of IR

  Kamal is planning to rename the movie "Normandi"in his quest for Oscar and for the American audience!
  
  If Kamal and IR could repeat Devar Magan's effort it will be great.Atleast to keep the likes of political non-entities like Krishnasamy,Ramadoss unhappy the movie should click in a big way.

  Never felt so into the movie when listening to the songs... the songs just fills you with the mood of the movie....

  but the songs are native folk song,but why illyaraja used sherya for the folk songs.she killed the madurai tamil.
  
  oh god why is illayaraja doing this? recall the inzghi iduppalazaga song....that's how a singer should give life to the song...
  
  think illayaraja is trying to copy rehman in importing north singer to south ..

  Heard couple of songs. They disappoint me. Kamal singing was horrible. Annalakshmi song was good. Unconventional tune pattern. Once again Kamal was a bad choice. May be hariharan would have done a better job. Maada vilakka is similar to kanna thorakkanum saami at places.

  The songs sounds very different although there is certain level of familarity. Its been long loooooong time since TFM has seen village "hip" songs. Just when your "wondering" about IR, he comes up something different. Well, certainly a commendable effort.

  Good Album for those who like the traditional Ilayaraja. Relief from the (sick hariharan,unnikrishnan,karthik,tippu voices). Kamal's rendering is 100000 times better

  Hi all IR fans. Even though me being a ARR fan I got this albumn just expecting a good music from IR. Me also being a great fan of kamal was also one of the reason to buy this. The first song was toooo good but IR cudnt keep it going in the rest of the albumn. Very bad composition and not many IR type of songs. I really feel very bad for all Kamal and IR fans and especially for Kamal. If this movie is a flop it will be because of the music. Anyways Kamal will make up for it. Enjoy music forever.   oh noo... its a bad score.. for a movie of devar magan kind.. devar magan was a phenom soundtrack.. IR disappoints after his haunting score for pithamagan.
  i don't know why people call it typical folk etc etc.. but it sounds unlike rajaa. people can rather buy a pushpavanam kuppusaami or paravi munniamma stuff..
  big expectations for another devar magan score and a major letdown...
  we want u back vintage ilayaraja.. almost there in pithamagan but not quite in virumandi.

  I am great fan of IR but this albumn is just rubbish. He has really let all the IR fans down. Some road side composers wud have done a better job. Looks like an albumn for a death ceremony. IR is gone. Hope his son will do some justice to TFM. Sorry to say this to all IR fans.

  Listen some more time and you will really feel that the songs are unoque,different and excellent
  IR has prooved it again
  Even if you don't get satisfied after listening two or three times i am sure you all will praise this music after watching the movie and you will apologise for your opinions which are written in a hurry and...

  This is so much of fun. Now we can see all the vaitheruttchal ARR fans jumping into this forum and trying all sort of means to criticize the songs. Too bad they know too well that ARR or anyone else for that matter is never gonna come up with melodies and tunes like IR has done in Virumandi.
