6 Songs : Mind Blowing!!

Simply mind-blowing
November 20
Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”
Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.
Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

By Moviebuzz
Wednesday, 17 March , 2004, 11:37
Mani Ratnam's latest film Yuva in Telugu was released at a grand function organized at Taj Banjara hotel in Hyderabad by Venkatesh and veteran director K Raghavendra Rao.
The function was star-spangled with director Mani Ratnam, Siddharth, Trisha and Meera Jasmine(see pic) attending the function. The guest list had all bigwigs of Telugu industry including Prabhu Deva, YVS Chowdary, Genelia, Jaya Sudha and Jeevitha.
Surya, Madhavan, Siddhardh, Trisha, Esha Deol and Meera Jasmine play the main lead in this film. AR Rahman provided music. Sunkara Madhu Murali is producing this film in Telugu on Murali Films banner. Aditya Music has bought the audio rights.
Director Mani Ratnam said at the function that he wanted to make Yuva without any songs. But after listening to the background score by A.R.Rahman, he felt that it should be added as a song and later six songs were added automatically.

'Yuva' Music: A Winner!
By Taran Adarsh, March 17th, 2004 - 0930 hrs IST
Undeniably, A.R. Rahman is a complete original. And the soundtrack of YUVA more than proves the fact, living up to the humungous hype and expectations surrounding it.
When two giants - Mani Ratnam and A.R. Rahman - join hands to create music, expect nothing but sheer magic. We haven't forgotten the gems composed by Rahman in Ratnam's ROJA, BOMBAY and DIL SE…, have we? Now add YUVA to this illustrious list.
YUVA has five songs in all and one music piece, but if you ask me my favourite, it would undoubtedly be the music piece [filmed on Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherji] and 'Shukriya Meherbaani' [filmed on Vivek Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor], in that order.
The 3-minute music piece proves why A.R. Rahman is still the numero uno. The orchestration is rich and the sound is amazingly different. In fact, the racy music reminds you of the music played at clubs throughout Europe. And, don't be surprised, if it takes the Indian nightspots by storm as well…
Since the film is titled YUVA and talks about youth, the music of the film has been designed keeping the essence of the film in mind.
The title track [filmed on Ajay Devgan], 'Suno Suno' [filmed on Ajay Devgan, Esha Deol] and 'Hone Do Dil Ko Fana' [filmed on Vivek Oberoi, Kareena Kapoor] are sure to find a place in the Top 10 charts of music countdowns.
Of course, no Rahman album would be complete without a soft, seeped-in-melody track. And YUVA has that in the form of 'Kabhi Neem Neem, Kabhi Shahed Shahed' [filmed on Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherji].
Undoubtedly, YUVA is amongst Rahman's best offerings!
The writer was invited for an exclusive preview of the songs of YUVA by Venus, the music company that is marketing the album. The soundtrack is expected to hit the stores on March 18, 2004.

To be honest, I have bought just 4 or 5 HJ albums so far, not everything :) I am not his fan either! arr music tv-la, radio-la ketkarathoda sari, avlo enthu illa. nee, paran, piratheepan moththam 3 peru casette vangareengale athu pothatha? :)
Aduththa message-a padichchittu thitta koodathu :)
The hype is on full throttle for AE. Ananda Vikatan carried an article and also continues next week. After reading AV, my thinking is kal kilo mouna ragam Karthik\'s character, kal kilo nayagan kamal\'s character and kal kilo karthika\'s character from the same film are mixed for AE. Somehow I feel that AE will see the fate of Thiruda Thiruda at the box office. Lets wait and watch!
Mani wanted to have Sivaji someday in his film it seems. What a crap? Why can\'t he admit that his style of film making will not suit for Sivaji and he did not have any desire to make him act? I mean tell the truth.

Sivaji is uncomparable to Kamal or anyother actor in the tamil film industry. He will remain as the best ever.
Kamal is a overrated actor in my opinion and he keep comparing himself with Sivaji. He also thinks there is no one better than him now in tamil film industry. I have seen this in many interviews and Vikram, Vijay have responded very well to supress his head weight.

Strong and mature characterisation is not Mani's forte. Using Sivaji in Mani's movie is like asking Dravid to bat at #8 or 9 - would really get wasted
