is this who did crap Company? why IR waste time on these borng messed up movie makers? IR shold know Hindi movies were inspiring for composing songs, not background scores, IR' sounds and style does not suit the "spoken" hindi.

but then Vaasu,
dont we all reserve the maximum adulation for the background score when it comes to IR, as it is "the soul of the film" as a DFer put it..
RGV's films rarely have unnecessary songs, and he gives high priority to the BGM. This could be good! :)

Did ARR refuse because he realized that he won't be able to do justice to the story.

I don't think so..I don't remember any movies from RGV in the class of "Boys" and "New". Your thalaivar needs to wait for Sankar's next film. Any way, he has already signed up for doing BF.

And I dont remember RGV making movies in the class of Roja, Bombay, Lagaan or Legend of Bhagat Singh either.
And I dont think RGV, in his present position, would tolerate IR's ego. But I think IR is a new man nowadays. May be the grand fall in the no.of his movies made him change.

I DONT KNOW HOW THOSE WILL WORK........
IR GIVES WHATEVER HE WANTS...WONT LISTEN
RGV TAKES WHATEVER HE WANTS ...WONT LISTEN
BUT NOW HOW THESE GONNA WORK TOGETHER....I THINK RGV WILL BE SILENT TO JUST TAKES WHATEVER IR DELIVERS.....DEFINETLY HE WONT TRY TO SUGGEST IR ANYTHING .........

Vaastu Shastra is a songless horror movie where BGM will play a big role like 'Bhoot'.Having worked with&listened to IR,RGV knows his talent in composing the BGM&so has chosen him.Why is such a big fight going on this thread?

IR composing for a songless horror movie? Seriously I dont think this is going to work.
IRs hasnt evolved with time. His BGMs still sound the same right from the beginning. No wonder people didnt choose him for modern trendy movies. The best example would be Kamal Hassan's "Alavandhan". Even while proclaiming that he is a big fan of IR, Kamal hired Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy for this project. This should be only bcoz the subject is too modern and sci-fi for IR to handle. The movie bombed in the B.O. though.
RGV is taking a big risk now. May God save him.

// RGV didnt make Roja, Bombay, Lagaan or Legend of Bhagat Singh either. //
But he made a refreshingly new Rangeela, daring Shiva and above all, the most hard hitting , perfect to the core film Satya and the greatest ever docu-fiction 'Company" .
all these films stand head and shoulders above the escapist, mushy fare like Roja, lagaan etc..

Vaastu Shastra: Promo Watch
By Gaurav Malani (IndiaFM News Bureau), August 02nd, 2004 - 1300 hrs IST
Cast: Sushmita Sen, Chakravarthy, Sayaji Shinde, Purab Kohli, Peeya Rai Chaudhary, Rajpal Yadav, Yashpal Sharma and Zakir Hussain
Trailer duration: 2 minutes 58 seconds
Another horror-thriller product from RGV's Factory comes in the form of Vaastu Shastra . The trailer opens with a legal notice that states ‘The producers are not responsible for any consequences of watching this film'. Whether used as a fear-inducing note or a precautionary message (since a person died in India last year while watching RGV's Bhoot in a cinema hall); for lovers of Varma style thrillers, this remark is just as ineffectual as the statutory warning on cigarette packs.
The promo displays the movie title in Hindi script throughout perhaps to add to the rustic feel. Vaastu Shastra – ‘It won't help you' reads the tagline of the film. Ironically the film seems to work against one fallacy – that of Vaastu Shastra, while promoting another superstition – that of the supernatural. That makes us more inquisitive towards the theme and treatment of the film.
The trailer opens on a haunting background score with a car shown moving towards Saswade, a village 30 kms on the outskirts of Pune city. With more one-liners, the trailer makes its point clear. ‘ If Bhoot scared you, this will kill you '. Now if this is not an overstatement, there's something real exciting in store for horror flick fans. However this film directed by RGV Protégé – Sourabh Usha Narang isn't a sequel of Bhoot , though in the same league. Infact it reminds more of RGV's Raat because of it's rural setup.
With this film Chakravarthy of Satya fame returns to Varma camp while Sushmita Sen makes her entry too. Chakravarthy plays a writer who lands up at a secluded mansion in Saswade with his doctor wife (Sushmita) and four year old son; to let his creative juices flow and complete his writing assignments. But the mysterious mansion doesn't live up to its name – Shanti Kutir (which was also the film's earlier title). “ Yaha bhoot bhi rehte hai ” says the pokerfaced kiddo in one of his lines who gets the maximum footage in the trailer.
From building basements, feline faces, candlelit rooms, sneaking eyes, following hands to vanishing lights, the promo shows everything habitually related to horror flicks. Infact even some bleached ghostly faces are revealed in the promo clip. The trailer ends on a chilling note with crackling sound and thumping beats showing the façade of a 10-year old girl (seemingly the spirit) in the mandatory white frock associated with ghosts.
The last line goes ‘This September you will die'. Indeed horror flick aficionados will be dying for this film.
