  first impression...
  
  not quite impressive..especially following dhool by vidyasagar(both saami and dhool are village based subjects of vikram) or even comparing to bharadwaj's tamil(dir.hari's first movie).
  
  Need to listen to it a couple of times more..

  Here is my review...
  
  1.Idthuthaana -Chitra
  
  I had high expectations on seeing chitra.The songs is melodious .It sounds like Margahzli Thingal and mudhal murai songs from sangamam..But the tunes are very different.The song is good .8/10
  
  2.Pudchiruku-Hariharan ,Mahati
  Melody song .The songs is nice .Nothing special.Typical HARIS song ..The interludes are intresting ....The sounds rather than the melody captivates us ...8/10
  
  3.Thirunelveli Aalva -Sriram
  Anybody should have guessed the mood of the song ...a very nice dappanguthu ...i think this dappanguthu is very different from AR Rehman's ( atleast Harris sounds distinct-)8/10
  
  4.Veppamaram -(Tippu)
  Again a typical village song ..but i feel it is notr very polished song ....sound like a pop village song ( ??) -7.5/10
  
  5.ARumugam Saami-SRiram
  The same Trinulveli song song aagain...
  I cannot understand why soem modern sounds has to be used in a village song ..... ....8/10
  
  6.Kalyanthaan ( Kay Kay ,Yugaendran) -A teasing song ..sounds like Uthikinnu song .....a big sorry 7/10
  
  
  It is really difficult to ocmpose a song ......Still difficult to compose a song which lasts time ..I think Harris would not have th second trouble !!!!Songs will last only for a short time ....

  its been a day since i first listened to the songs..my firt impressions when i posted was , i t is nnotupto the mark..but after that i must have listened to it some gazillion times from thaalam.com...and have started liking it. HJ has used some "country ..blues grass" style guitaring sounds in the song veppamaram..i am hearing the sound for the first time in tamil music history ..its such a cacthy thing , i dunno why other music directors don't want to bring into tfm...
  
  The lyrics are kinda good, and i think the songs are gonna be appreciated more when they see it on screen fitted into the movie.
  
  i saw a posting..some one said thirunelveli alva sounds like tirupachi aruvaala..what crap...i don't see any shades in there...its like if two guys are rapping , u say one guy has copied the other coz he's rapping...

  yea its right thirunelvali alva has the chorus in the middle that sounds excatly like the one in thirupachi aruvallai... listen to it carefully.... may be he didn't get it out of his mind when he composed... maybe he is the one who programed thirupachi aruvallai who knows...

  It is not just the rapping. the entire song structure is same as 'Thirupaachi Aruvaala..' The only thing missing from Thirupaachi was the female part where the tune becomes slower. It cant be just a coincidence having that similarity for the entire song.
  
  If you want to make sure, listen to Thirupaachi Aruvaala and then listen to Thiirunelveli and sure someone is gonna ask you if you listening to the same song twice !!
  
  And when I checked the Taj Mahal song list... I found that Thirupaachi was sung by Sriram. Not sure if this is also the same Sriram. But it sounds 95% the same voice. Too much coincidence ???
  Folks... HJ already had Thirupaachi in mind and then called Sriram to sing Thirunelveli...hehe

  Ithuthaana has some connection with 'Enkae enathu Kavithai' from Kandu Kondein X 2

  I think during the production time of Saami, HJ got friendship with Parthasarathi & Family. He gave two songs to Sriram Parthasarathi, and Kalyanam thaan female voice is his sister i think.

  Harris Jeyaraj probably heard all of the previous ARR village type compositions like karuthamma, sangamam, taj mahal, kizhakky chemaiyile. HJ got a song from each of those respective albums and composed with some changes for Saami

  see the copying or tracing doesn't matter
  the entire album if goes hand in hand to the video then it is good.
  use of digital beats to a village subject is not a sin so...
