Maha Dabba tamil Songs by ARR and Deva

Hi,

I want to list out "Dabba Songs" of neo MD's Like Deva and ARR .

This will prove how junk the songs have become these days .

Definiton of Maha Dabba Songs :

-Half Baked Lyrics like Cell phone , CD-ROM etc
-Singers prouncing tamil words as though it's a sin to utter a tamil word.
-Using Lifted and re-cycled Tunes
-Consistent use of Algorithms like " Amplifier'kku gain alagu " , "Toilet'kku Tissue paper alagu" etc..

  Hi MSK,
  You can take up all of Deva's Gaanas because they are all self bits,ie one Gaana is the copy from the other Gaana.If u listen to them all of them are like 1 single song.Deva and his brothers sing and spoil the already rotten tunes.Lyrics go like "Vaithu kulla kozhi onnu koovudhu","Anna Nagaru Aandaalu" ,which are ridiculous to say the least.

  Kindly define what is a "dabba" song. To me only 20% of the songs churned out by these composers are even worth humming. Imagine getting stuck with just one cassette (with the latest dabba songs) in your car and you are on a long drive(which was the pitiful state I was in). Quite horrific, the beats are the same, be it a folk song, a love song or a sad song. The tune, yes there is an apology for a tune.
  
  With respect to pronounciation, HH and co (and ofcourse the great Udit Narayan) have been teaching us how not to utter Tamil words and that is a social service in a way.
  
  IMO , ARR and Deva are capable of better music.Try listening to Deva's bakthi songs composed before he entered films...certainly more than just hummable.

  This topic is just a counter argument to the topic I started - Dabba songs of Raja.

  ARR's Pudhiya Mannargal has a golden collection of the choicest dabba songs - I bought it at a time when ARR was at his peak (musical peak, not commercial) & felt strongly that a concept of "Irritation tax" must be introduced where MDs pay the public for paining them with such scores. I have often felt similarly while listening to *current* Hindi songs.

  I must necessarily add here that the irritation value of several IR songs is also not less; but the thing is if one chooses to compare the BEST compositions of MDs, then IMHO, IR wins.

  i was hearing this song in real audio, i don't know which film it is, who is the MD etc. just felt it was the most dabba song i ever heard.
  the lyrics go like this:
  pappAli pazhame, pineapple nirame,
  vazhiya vazhiya puzhiya venum juicu(not juice!!)
  andha juicil pottu kudikka venum icu, icu icu(not ice again)
  apple kannam dhratshai kangal ennai izhukudhu etc.
  
  in between , there are lines which end in
  "modelaa", channellaa", computer kaadhalaa", "internet pinnalaa"(may be talking about www),
  "idaiye", "kudaiye", "narambu thudikkudhu", "delhiile nee irundhaa aatchi maatram nadakkume",
  "silaiye" "wine mazhaiye" etc. i can't write the whole song here. lousy to the core.

  Most of the topics in the DF seem to be for pointing out dabba songs of ARR/dEvA. Do we need another thread?
  We have had threads called 'exposing dEvA', 'dEvA copy adiththa paadalgaL', 'english words in songs after ARR', 'pronounciation of singers', 'why ARR makes north indians sing', 'algorithm lyics', 'copied songs', 'ARR copy adiththa paadalgaL'... hmmm............

  I don't know why Srikanth is behaving in a childish way all of a sudden. He is not taking things in the right and a sporty sense. Like what Mr.Shankar told, anything against ARR is bad and wrong to him. I find this not only with Srikanth but with many other people who belong to the MSV era.
  
  My uncle & cousin who were hardcore fans of MSV, ,could'nt accept the fact that IR washed out MSV's reign within a span of 2 yrs. So when ARR came, inspite of the fact that ARR has not achieved anything great, started supporting him like nuts and crazy. The only reason being he was a supposed to be posing a competion (actaully he could'nt suceed fully) as far as the directors who were running to ARR. Did anyone analyse why this happened? Well IR was composing his symphony that time and he was not able to concentrate well in his movies. So the directors switched and they are indeed coming back now.
  
  I find the same thing with Srikanth. I could find that he was a MSV fanatic and now he wants to show something against the man who wiped out MSV. Its more like a revenge for these people. But the real fact is, even after 6 odd years, ARR is still finding it hard to get into our souls with his music(of ourse he makes us dance). IR took just 2 yrs to get into our soul(not mind as said) with his songs. So accept the fact Srikanth. IR is millions of miles above ARR. ARR has a long long way to go. Instead os making comparisons, starting threads like dabba songs, talk about the good things and not petty things like this and get an "alpa" sandosham. We or rather anyone in this forum has the "thaguthi" to make comments on a person like IR..... "know thyself first".

  There is no doubt I am a great MSV fan, also
  you need to know I am big Raja fan too,
  I carry more Raja songs than anyone here.
  His scores are properly arranged.
  Offlate here Arr is being thrown around for everything, mostly by few H.CRaja fans.
  
  Tamilian Quality:We will Talk bad about someone, when the whole world praises him. This includes me also, do screm at me.
  I tried stopping this ARR bashing (in fact ARR basing topic was started long time ago)
  Which I did not bother much, any I am sorry if I have behaved childish,
  I did not have anywork!, so I kept my nose poking into everthing. I will stop this from now on.

  We all have the thuguthi - it is our ears which has taken Raja to such great heights.

  Agreed Raja has done some great work. I hate when people say other mds are total waste just because Raja is nowhere in the scene today.
  
  When we blame Arr's songs as a bad song, we should also be ready say the truth on Raja.
  When Raja fans says other mds copy - I will say even Raja has copied.
  Once again I saw Gloria estafan issue - there is no trace of the song in any of ARRs.
  Sound of music song in strawberry kane - Sound of music score was first copied by Raja in "Chatriyan" "potukul potalum" 100% lift from the
  waltz.
  
  Raja as done some crazy numbers for Ramarajan, Rajkiran and many more directors who shoot moives based on Raja's scores.

  to talk about Raja or ARR or Msv.
  
  Shanker: There is already a huge list of topics speaking bad about other MDS. I was offended this was started that too after I started a topic called Raja's dabba songs.

  I never said all MDs other than IR r waste.
  In fact, i am an ardent fan of MSV and salil chowdhry and have a lot of albums by them. I have almost all songs of salil in mallu.
  
  I can't accept those people who call themselves "composers" and do nothing but compiling some good pieces and call them "compositions".
  
  Was there any mention of copying songs in TFm before deva and ARR landed up.There were some bit news saying rakkamma was copied in Bol radha bol.
  
  Why would the media be so interested ONLY after the arrival of these 2 guys ???
  
  U cant also claim that press wanted to support IR as the rapport IR had with press is well known to anyone in TN.
  
  I sincerely request u not to make a fool of urself by saying IR is nowhere in scene today.
  
  Have u cheked with ALL songs of gloria estefan (i don't expect u to do that,anyway)
  
  please substantiate ur claim that IR has copied from SoM.
  
  As i have already mentioned,i have given enough substantiation for 2 songs u had mentioned as copied songs of IR (kanavu kaanum and darling darling) with proof.
  
  All of us have rights to post our feelings and i do agree , but why making some false accusation on a person just bcos the guy u r supporting is being
  exposed over here ??
  
  ther's nothing really personal about these postings. Who is IR and ARR to you and me after all.
  
  As u say , let's have some healthy discussion which we have even now (excluding some).
