Kamal as a singer

Kamal everybody knows him as a versatile actor. Each film he tries to make something different, whether it satisfys us all the times or not. But he his also a good singer. After yester years were the actor was suppose to be a good singer also, he had sung a very good number of songs.

Can you contribute to this list of his songs.

  His tough song and the best to date would be definetly song from Singaravelan "Pottu vaitha kaathal thittam" was in a very high picth which even SPB refused to sing.

  Kamal mentioned the following in an interview.
  Once he had a severe fracture during a fall in a movie
  shooting, and was ruled-out of acting for several months.
  During one of those "free" days, he met Balamurali
  on a flight from Bombay to Madras. When chatting,
  Kamal was telling Balamurali that he was wondering
  how to utilize his time during those free months.
  Balamurali immediately asked Kamal: Why don't you
  come and learn to sing carnatic music from me?
  Kamal was tremendously surprised at this offer
  and instantly agreed. He went on to say, with a
  smile: ennai oru sishyanaaga vaiththirukka ivar
  EdhO periya paavam paNNiyirukkaNum. He also sang
  a carnatic-based-song (quiete nicely) that Balamurali
  taught him. There was also an interview with
  Balamurali. He mentioned that Kamal had a good
  talent for singing, and was a good learner.

  Kamal is a compulsive singer. He compels his MD's to make him sing a song. Rumour has it that this was the reason for his so called reluctance to accept ARR. No kamal song in Indiayan u see. Now with Tenali he would be glorifying ARR shortly. Please wait and watch the fun.

  BTW, looks like Kamal is out to prove his mettle in singing it would seem, not just content to sing for the pleasure of being a singing star. Witness the variety in his songs: dappanguthu (Kaasu mela), High pitch (raja kaiya vetcha, pottu vitta kaadhal thittam), low pitch (a duet in Kaadhala Kaadhala, Inji iduppazhagi), false voice (ruku ruku) etc. Irrespective of what his voice sounds like, I think he has proven himself to be a singer of vast range and control.

  Folks,
  IMHO..though KH is not a great singer..he is definetely a very competent singer capable of singing a variety of songs. His Raghupathy Raghava Rajaram in Hey Ram is also a good one. Paigalla nambadhey and Thanmaanam ulla nenjam in Mahanadhi and Maarugo Maarugo from Sathi leelavathi are some of his other good numbers. For the records, he has also rendered one song in Saranam Iyappa..'Anna Vaada thambi vaada'. One more song recorded for Aboorva Sahodharargall, 'Ammava naan kaala thottu kumbudanum doi', made it to some prerecorded cassettes.

  Kamal sang "Muthey Muthamma" for Karthik Raja in Ullasam. the song was picturised on Ajith!!
  And of course, the title song from 'Hey Ram'. Surprising that the man can reach such a high pitch. In one place you can hear him struggling to keep his voice from breaking.

  Idu eppadi irukku? This man has sung over 50 songs (even Hindi ones in remakes such as 'Appu Raja')... and this is the kind of trash people write...
