  It's a big let down by ARR. What a disappointment! I was eagerly waiting for this BABA album and after listening to it for about 7 times, it got worse! Big disappointment! Anybody else would have done a far better job.

  i saw BABA trailer(an ad rather! ... since no pics from the film) on Sun TV .... during that "Maaberum Kalai Nigazhchi"
  
  it din say nething much though.....chumma there was a knife like on the BABA cassette....then said BABA....the there were these lines,
  "therinjathu ??? theriyaathathu kadalalavu"
  "known is a drop but unknwn is an ocean"
  
  also it gave some website address,
  i saw it as www.studiorajini.com or www.studiorajni.com
  
  however both dont work.....anybody know nething??

  im a HCRKF + HCARRF .... manasai thottu sollaraen...
  Baba songs are a disappointment as for as i am concerned.....Dipu Dipu was one song i liked very much.....and then comes Kichu Kichu....other than these two i am not able to enjoy any other song completely coz the tempo some songs change a great deal in an odd manner.....there mayb ppl who like it but i am not impressed with that.....i like all the songs in BABA,but not as a whole.....im not able to tap my foot or sumthing like that for a complete song other than the two i mentioned....like Maya Maya begins greatly, and then suddenly misses out....however i wud rate it equal to padayappa .... coz i don feel they are soooooo bad as being said here
  
  if Muthu gets a 10/10 for music....i would give padayappa and baba something like 7/10

  JJ, how many ever threads u open or how many ever times u make ur hatred postings on the songs, its not gonna make any impact on this thread as tfm guys are knowledgable in music... It doesnt take time to criticise other MD's music albums but it ain't worth the time.... The ppl in the thread could see ur frustration by posting ur review again and again... If u had felt that the album was bad, why do you want to come back to the thread and go over it again and again... It's just because u want to show some negative responses in the middle of some appreciative responses that u do it again and again... I'm convinced that the album is good and I could see the majority of knowledgable music lovers in this thread have accepted that too... So if u want to spread the Baba Music Sucks slogan , discuss it in maiyam.com or any other thread... let these guys enjoy their joy in sharing their positive thoughts...

  So, do you mean that those who love the songs should keep coming to check and post new reviews whereas once that are disappointed have no reason to post new ones? Sorry, I can't understand what you've thought.
  
  And to be honest, I dont think Baba music is upto the mark. Other than 1 or 2 songs (Kichu Kichu and Maaya Maaya), I never feel like listening to ne other track.
  
  Mabbe, after the movie is out, the context of the movie might help in better time for the songs.
  
  But, i admit...some songs become pleasing only with time, and donno whether that'd be the case with Baba.
  
  One thing is for sure. The high expectation for the movie definitely worked against its fame, and the high expextation is definitely not met with.

  Derek Jeter!!! i rest my case!!! Just read the response from rAms and keep quite!!! Nobody likes the music except people like you!!!! I give you neutral judgement. I give you an impartial view.
  The music extraordinarily sucks. It must be a huge disappointment for ARR fans. But they refuse to accept it gracefully!!! I won't jump heaven and earth if you accept that the music sucks!! I would be happy there are still some ARR fans having some kind of musical sense. But you guys are content with this mediocre effort from ARR. There is nothing positive there. I am not blindly accusing the album. I went through the ordeal of listening each and every song to judge it. His lack of creativity was exposed clearly in this album. He just arranges musical instruments randomly, does some trial and error process. Then it goes through a mix and match process. Output is CRAP!!! Accept the truth!!

  I am a fan of Rahman, of course, being an IR super fan, I don't feel threatened because another composer could be better than IR. I am still waiting and I will be in fact happy to know that somebody can indeed outclass IR. I am still waiting. The point is, ARR had to be entirely different to stand out and be noticed. But, the TRUTH is, there is no sustenace factor in that gamble. It is very limited scope and taking a look back I realized ARR has hardly caused a dent in IR' works. For that matter, Bach to Pet Shop Boys to Salilda to ARR did not have that many ideas that IR continue to unfold.
  
  But, I am a fan of all of the composerss,because i love music and IR's music only helps me appreciate every other composer more because their music all are a small element in the oceans of IR's music.

  It is a big Maya! Maya! Maya!
  Expectations belied??? No!
  Just wait and see "Maya Maya".. the ARR's mettle in composing is going to be at the top of the music chart in the coming weeks. Dippu Dippu may be not a typical rajni opening number but a bangra style kiddie stuff and will be an instant hit. Kitchu Kitchu hears ordinary in the first but will be a must demanding rewinding. Rajyama ... mmm kaalathin kattayam!
  
  Overall my instant opinion BABA is saved thanks much to maya (sweet sujatha and the orchestra)and dippu.
  Prediction: (music) Will go better than Padayappa.
  
  Well done ARR, Vaalee & Diamond!
