10 Songs of 2003 - SUNTV

Blunder! Blunder! Blunder!

I cannot imagine how crappy songs like "dhimsu kattai", "azhagiya asura" scored in top 10 leaving out some good songs in pithamagan,or rather the 'azhagooril poothavalae' in thirumalai or for that matter "kanakandaen adi thozhi' from parthiban kanavu..

To my surprise, I did not find any songs from Yuvanshankar scoring in top 10..

rediculous..the selection committee of that 10 songs might have been drunk!!

  Sun TV rating-la idam pera 'dabbu' kodukkanum! ... ppl shud either have that or be in the good books of Sun TV before they find a place in the Top10!
  
  i am pretty sure of this ... the reason i came to such a conclusion is coz of the Survey which they conducted for their Sun News...my college came first in its rating, ahead of Anna University!! ... so, im soooo damn sure that they take money!!!! :-)

  spking of Jeppiar, i am reminded of a few jokes...Jeppiar is famous for his English...
  
  1) Once when he came for some inspection into a class, for some reason he wanted some body to get out of the class. He dinno how to say it. So, he went out of the class, sed 'Come Here' and then got back into the class for further inspection!
  2) He had gone for some friend's marriage and he was to give a speech there. He dinno much to say. Just wanted to say 'nee kalyaanam pannindathu enakku romba santhosham'. Ended up saying 'You marry, I enjoy'!

  by the way, who cares about sun tv ratings.. you see how the sun-tv chicks interview.. they go to ayothi kuppam / vannarapettai with a humongous microphone and ask silly questions to the local rickshaw fellow who has nothing important than smoking a beedi.. "Ungalukku pidicha paadal ondru sollunga...", and that dude in response says, "enakku 'dimsukatti' paatu romba pudikkum", with his frontal broken tooth showing..
  Voila.. "dimsukatti".. gets into top 10....

  Some of the greatest hits of the year "Devadaiayai kanden","ellangathu veesudahey","Kana kandenadi" is missing
  the list is simply the list of 10 hit songs of 2003 and not the best songs of 2003 and then also i could accept the song "Asai asai " it doesn't fall in both the category

  I admit that Stupidest and most ridiculous ratings by Sun Tv. in fact "Devathaiyai Kandaen" song by YSR shoud be placed after the maro maro. but what happened to Sun tv. even many other channels are highlighting songs like 'timsu' and rappish manmatha rasa. songs should be rated according to the quality and performance and not just collecting innocent people votings.

  Jeppiar anecdotes continued.. (I better not get my TC for this!)
  
  He went to a movie w/ his wife.. He noticed that a few of his college tudents had cut classes and come to the movie. He decided to take care of them the next day. So next morning, he called all the offenders and told them very soberly, "I know u all went to movie yesterday. I saw u there with my wife."

  Jeppiar's English reminds me of my Art sir at school...
  he was speaking to a friend of mine, when another person kept interrupting...so hed sed, 'I talking, he talking, y u middle middle talking'
  
  and...if anybody asks him permission to go the toilet or something, he wud say 'im not allowed'!

  What i feel is that the ratings should be something like this:
  
  melody top 5(eg.elangaathu,kanaakandeanadi,ondra rendaa,dheavathai kandaen)
  peppy songs top5 (saregamae,mercury poovae etc)
  dabbaangoothu top5(manmadha raasa,thimsu kattai,that jayam song etc)
  
  otherwise there s no point on putting all these in one basket.I always felt sun tv is the worst in its rating of songs and films

  Sun TV ratings are only based on whether they have the Movie rights for it or not... Most glaring example was Thirumalai being pampered in the ratings to No.1 in Top 10 Movies immediately after the 2nd week when Sun TV lost the TV rights of the film Pithamagan to Jaya TV. That's why the pithamagan song also did not feature... May be the same for Kadhal kondein & Parthiban kanavu...

  The previledged songs were Dimsukattai,Manmada raasa, maaro maaro,azhagiya asura,kalyananthaan,aasai aasai, unai naan unai naan , uyirin uyire, yetho yetho yetho ondru,thiruvizhannu vandha...
  
  The irony is "Unai naan Unai naan " of Jay Jay is a direct lift from.. "Chori Chori jab nazrein mili..." from the film "Kareeb".Just listen to the Hindi version (Since that was by Annu Malik, that may also be copied, I do not know).
  
  "Maymaasam 98" from the same film was very similar to "Kaliyon ka chaman"
