AR Rahman's Tamil Blockbuster "BOYS"

Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::

Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.

Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.

In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.

Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.

For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

  With his recent tunes fading into oblivion, the critics in the music
  industry have said the magic of A R Rahman, who had mesmerised
  Kollywood and Bollywood for over ten years now, has waned. It remains
  to be seen whether tomorrow's launch of the Rahman's audio cassette
  of Boyz, the much-hyped movie of director Shankar, will prove his
  critics wrong.
  
  According to sources, Rahman has taken more time to compose
  tunes for Boyz, which has 10 songs. The film was about five young
  musicians and their ventures. Even though Rahman's magic has failed
  to work in the recent past, Boyz is expected to reverse the trend.
  
  Meanwhile, a few of Rahman's fans claim that the music
  prodigy is competent enough to reclaim the top spot. However, one
  cannot write off Rahman. Wait and listen to his tunes in Boyz, says a
  noted film producer.
  
  A director says, 'lots of young music directors, who can
  deliver hits, have made their appearance in the Tamil industry. The
  rise of Vidyasagar, whose recent numbers have been hits, the rise of
  Harris Jeyaraj, Karthik Raja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Manisharma and
  Devisri Prasad have given more choice to the producers and the
  directors. They are competent enough to give quality tunes and more
  so they charge very less compared to A R Rahman. But Rahman, if his
  tunes in Boyz suceeds, can re-claim his top spot.

  This is success for ARR as IR fans seem to panic, this ugly display of copy-pasting is nuthin but panic that IR will be wiped off... and "Vaithu-arichal" that IR cannot move away from "Dandanaka" and compose a album like "Boyz"...
