I think its the next milestone in tamil film music. If he is not a copy cat... then in my opinion he'll add more value to kollywood.

jassi gift is like how arrahman is in tamil nadu... his first album '4 the people' (4 studnets) is a BIG hit.. but unfortunatly his secound album 'rain rain go away' isn't that good...

listened to the album and it has got songs rendered by :
1. First song rendered by K.K,Mahathy,timmy,chinmayi
2.Second song is a solo rendered by Mahathy
3.Third song rendered by Hariharan and Swarnalatha
4.Fourth song rendered by Ranjith and Anuradha Sriram
5.Fifth song is a repetition of first song
6.Sixth song is rendered by Sandhya
Songs are not very impressive by the first listening and the banner under which it is released
is AnAk audio

One CD quality is equal to a bit rate of 128kbps. www.swasam.com's mp3 has the bit rate of 128kbps. So this mp3 site is GREAT! Ya'll should appreciate this excellent work. Don't throw the stones at him, like saying "not having good quality". Maybe "rta" you have a messed up computer. Anyway the site is giving free mp3 songs, you should atleast eat that!

just for your information...
You can compress a crappy audio file at 128KBps... So the bitrate does not mean anything...
Cannot comment on the quality of the files from swasaam as I haven't downloaded them...

Swaasam hosts terrible quality MP3s. I downloaded Manmadhan from their site and found that they recorded the songs from Raaga and encoded to 128Kbps.

Digression
The thread on Kumbakonam tragedy has been closed..don't know why it was closed,but anyway i wanted to convey my condolences.Yet another tragedy,will the ppl and govt wake up? or this is going to be yet another incident which is going to be forgotten.The photos in the dailies and the video beamed on Sun News yesterday afternoon was terrible,and no human will be able to digest the tragedy.What a loss..
Am not inviting any further discussions on this anyway..jus expressed my condolences.

it was the other way around. I think HJ helped Thundu Bhai 6-7 years ago to come up with decent songs (ofcourse the tunes were by thundu bhai but looks like hj involved a lot in orchestration). After his departure, thundu bhai's songs take a beating man!

1 song from chellame is good "kadhalikum aasai" its the same song that comes in the trailor.but it sounds like an old song by IR i believe.(the way its sung reminds me of an old song)
