Many of us listen to songs and as we are enjoying it, suddenly cringe at something, be it the music, the note, the singer's voice for that particular part, etc. etc. and wish we had the power to change/delete just that part. Well here we have it now! Please don't recommend entire songs or major parts which we want to be deleted (Udit Narayan trying to sing any TF song, or Asha in engengEy, engengEy). Only select, an otherwise good song with selected part which you think does not belong.
Well here's my start. I wish ARR did not make Chitra scream Anjali Anjali in the song from Duet.

The lady singer in "Thalayai Kuniyum Thaamaraye" who according to another fellower DFer sounded like a Mylapore Mami. I was listening to the song this morning and she sounded exactly like one.

That was very hilarious Sriram Lakshman. Sathiyamaana vaarthai. Aanalum 'Reethigowla'vai oru mini sachet-il kodutha IR-ai paarattalaam. What a violin interlude in that song especially before the 2nd stanza. This female had royally killed that song.
That way, I will want to remove Bhava's voice from all the songs she has sung so far and replace with worthier voice except "Poongaatrey nee ennai thodalaama".

Have you all listened to a very beautiful song in Ore oru Gramathile ( if I am not mistaken - Letchumi starer movie) the song Ole Kudisayile pazhang kilayil. I simply love the song and SJ'S motherly voice but there is one particular sound towards the end of every charam. It sounds like Starwars music or perhaps something like sound that is used when laser beems appear in cartoons (I don't know how to describe it) which I wish I could delete it.
And I wish all the short songs in Muthal Mariyathai like Eh kurivi and Yeratha malamele.... be made longer.Wow I love these songs.

Oh, I've lots but will confine myself to IR songs, as I really think that he doesn't pay minute attention to his songs these days:
1 the chorus "uyya uyya" that appears in the charanam of "mannan koorai chelai" -SIraichaalai
2 the absurd chorus with lyrics like "ammadi un meni kannadi" in the charanam of"alli sundaravalli"
3 the lyrics for pallavi/starting lines "intha poovukkoru arasan.." - Poovarasan
4 lyricists for most of the recent IR songs
5 annoying drum/synth/keyboard stuff in MVU, KK etc. worst recent example - "iru kangal" -dharma
6 replace Bhava's & IR's voice in several good nos. ex. "alai meethu", "kopam enna" in KK. especially, hearing IR go "chinna kuzhandhai naan maane.." in "kopam enna" drives me nuts, think of Sivaji doing a duet with Shalini.
7 replace HH with SPB in many recent songs
8 restrict IR to warble for only those songs acted by Trouser, Rajkiran, Nepoleon, Murali; or a rustic song appearing in the background
I'll stop with it for now, if only wishes were horses...

Just a guess. Is it the repetitive word pallavi syndrome ? indha madhiri periya vaarththai pOttaa people might think it is an acceptable jargon.
Or is the MD who is, let me guess, 'copy isai sooraavaLi' Deva(ngu)?

Seerkazhi Govindarajan in "Ennai vittu odippoga mudiyuma". Surprising how Susheela managed to maintain her composure and go through with the song. Another "threatening" song of SG "Iravu nadakkinrathu".
VJ in "Sapthaswaram punnagayil Kanden" .Probably she was suddenly overcome with Bhakthi for some unknown reason and got reminded of Bhajans!!! Absolutely no romanticism at all!!!

Some instances of some jarring instances in good songs :
* Idhayam oru koil... (IR version) : Apart from the usual limitations in IR's voice at high pitches, the piece where he sings "VAzhga enRum vaLamudan" goes distinctively out-of-note. It sounds as though he is straining to catch his breath when he sings this verse !
* RAkkamA kaiya thattu (Dalapathi) : The "jAngu chakka chachakku chakka" part sounds a little silly in the song. Of course, some of you may be of the opinion that it adds to the rhythm of the song and all that, but I personally did'nt find it very appealing.
* VAn pOlE vaNNam koNdu (Salangai oli) : The part "geetham ennum sAram solli" took a bit of getting used to, as the pitch drops suddenly after the flute bit which follows "rAsa leelai purindhavanE"...
* Oru pattAm poochi (KAdhalukku mariyAdhai) : The second charanam starts abruptly with an abrupt change in the beat...
* Hey, unnai thAnE... (KAdhal parisu) : The portion where SJ has to keechify to reach the high pitch. Could have been sung by SPB (as in the first stanza)
* Indha kaNmaNi kuLLe vandha... (PAttu pAdavA) : The interludes are too synthetic for the otherwise sombre song.
* Sundari neeyum... (MMKR) : The piece where Kamal drags "Euzhhhhhhh" after the "sayana nEram..." verse to end the charanam.
* EngirindhO azhaikkum un geetham... (En jeevan pAdudhu) : The portion where Lata sings "nee inRi Edhu jeevan ingE" - she tends to drag a bit, thereby sounding "neeeee inReee EEEdhu jeeevan ingE"
More as and when I recollect...

rajaG,
first of all, congrats on choosing an interesting new topic in the midst of dull/revived threads.
my additions:
1. i actually feel that IR could have added to my pleasure by including an anupallavi in the 'yamunai aatrile' song in dalapathi.
2. the abrupt change in pitch by ARR in the humma humma song in the second stanza. thus is a characteristic of most pop songs which u see in V TV.
3. the humming 'hey uyya uyya ....rhambha rhambha ramba raa' in aatama therotama. IR could have replaced it with some appealing percussion.
4. "vandal mahalakshmiye" minus SPB's 'konashtais" would have been a much better song.
5. i have felt many times that 'maasi maasam' without the 'usssss aaaaa' at the beginning would have made it a classic at the same time making u feel less embarassed when u hear the song with u'r family. but perhaps the situation demanded IR to include that.
more later....

Vijay,
Thanks. Good changes. I like your changes while keeping most of the original songs intact. Change in lyrics and particular music piece or instrument could also become candidates for desired changes.
For example in the song 'oru ponmaanai naam kaaNa thagadhimithOm' by SPB for TR, in the second charanam there is suddenly a reference about 'kaatril asaindhu varum..thambooraakkal' etc. obviously some reference to body parts. Wish this was not there in an otherwise wonderful composition.

Give our friend some credit. Look at Deva's inspired list, and you see that the man has seen them all, from a Devaram to MJ to Bob Marley to...
Can't you see how broad-minded his music vision is? If you're not a wee bit careful, he can flick a tune from your bathroom singing, never mind if you're warbling an IR or MSV no. He's the supreme version of CIA, has bugged all places that have to do with music.
And, won't you call a man who can turn "awaara hoon" to "aval varuvala", creative? or atleast inventive?:))))))
