I think one reviewer has done reviewing twice..
These Amazon reviews.. you think anyone is going to buy the CD based on these reviews? I heard mp3s of bombay. same old tunes... he keeps grinding until the tunes start crying "Enna vitru"... we know what it is worth.. someone in the middle has rightly mentioned "Bad Dreams".
Very disappointing effort. Since he didn't take any movie assignments during these days, he should have come out with totally new music instead of recycling 1996 tunes..

"Here was a show that truly divided the critics. Some raved, some drew blood. I must warn you now, this is not a rave. In fact I'm sorry to say I think the show fails spectacularly on almost every level. And I am sorry, because shows with brave concepts attempting to move the boundries and stretch the limits of musical theatre are to be applauded - not discouraged. But this was even less enjoyable that We Will Rock You."
"The show was vocally disappointing. Leads Raza Jaffrey and Preeya Kalidas have sweet voices but are both rather limited and unimpressive. Raj Ghatak played token transsexual Sweetie but had lost his voice, and in a ludicrous decision, mimed the songs while Dean Hussain sung. Shelley King was amusing, but no one seems to have picked up on the fact that the viscous showbiz reporter character 'Kitty' is directly lifted from Syal's television comedy Goodness Gracious Me without even so much as a name change. "
"I am ashamed to say that this was the first time I was truly tempted to leave at the interval - but I am glad that I didn't. I never could have dreamt that it could get so much worse. "
"I don't take enjoyment out of ripping a show to shreds, but I have a duty to you readers to tell you how diabolical the show is. Because if I had spent money on top price tickets I would demand a refund. "

USUALLY U.K people appreciate even mediocre things that we do since they try to behave like gentlemen. But this reviewer must have been awfully pissed off after seeing the show.

Paltrow nominated for top theatre award
Gwyneth Paltrow has been nominated for one of the most prestigious
awards in British theatre for her West End debut.
Paltrow's performance in Proof at the Donmar Warehouse earlier this
year garnered rave reviews.
Now it has earned her a nomination for best actress at the Evening
Standard Theatre Awards.
The star has already beaten the likes of Meryl Streep and Cate
Blanchett to win an Oscar for her role in Shakespeare In Love in 1999.
In Proof she played Catherine, the troubled daughter of a mentally
ill maths genius, with critics calling her performance "compelling"
and "almost flawless".
Paltrow is one of a host of Hollywood stars to tread the boards in
the West End this year - including Matt Damon, Woody Harrelson and
Kyle MacLachlan - but the only one to make it onto this year's
shortlist.
She will compete with British actresses Helen McCrory, for her role
as Yelena in Chekhov's Uncle Vanya at the Donmar, and Clare Higgins,
who played Ursula in the National Theatre's production of Vincent in
Brixton.
Elsewhere in the nominations, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Bollywood
extravaganza Bombay Dreams goes head to head with The Full Monty and
Gershwin's My One And Only for best musical.
Sam Mendes, partner of Kate Winslet, is up for best director for his
two farewell productions at the Donmar - Uncle Vanya and Twelfth
Night.
The awards will take place on November 25 and will be broadcast by
Carlton on November 28.

Royal Court takes centre stage

The Guardian
Gwyneth Paltrow may make the headlines, but it was the Royal Court
Theatre that was celebrating five nominations in the Evening Standard
Theatre Awards last night.
The film star is in the running for best actress for her performance
in Proof, a play about mathematics at the Donmar Warehouse that did
not quite add up. The Royal Court, however, appears to have
rediscovered its magic formula. Not only has it the highest number of
nominations, beating the National Theatre's four and the Royal
Shakespeare Company's two, but most come from the least starry of its
productions.
Plasticine, a play by the Siberian Vassily Sigarev, won him a
nomination for most promising playwright.
The hero of the piece, disappointed with life, sits in his room
making models out of Plasticine. In one scene he is expelled from
school for waving a Plasticine penis at a female teacher. It was
performed at the theatre as part of its international writers'
festival.
The nominations are: Best play The Lieutenant of Inishmore by Martin
McDonagh, A Number by Caryl Churchill, The York Realist by Peter
Gill; Best actor Daniel Craig for A Number, Tom Georgeson for Frozen,
Simon Russell Beale for Uncle Vanya and Twelfth Night; Best actress
Clare Higgins for Vincent in Brixton, Helen McCrory for Uncle Vanya,
Gwyneth Paltrow for Proof; Best director Tim Carroll for Twelfth
Night, Dominic Cooke for Plasticine, Sam Mendes for Uncle Vanya and
Twelfth Night; Best designer Stephen Brimson Lewis for Much Ado About
Nothing, Bill Dudley for The Coast of Utopia, Ian MacNeil for
Plasticine and A Number; Best musical Bombay Dreams, The Full Monty,
My One and Only; Outstanding newcomer Jake Gyllenhaal for This is Our
Youth, Jochum Ten Haaf for Vincent in Brixton, Alison Pargeter for
Damsels in Distress; Most promising playwright Charlotte Eilenberg
for The Lucky Ones, Anthony Neilson for Stitching, Vassily Sigarev
for Plasticine.

Paltrow, Mendes and Bombay Dreams Among Evening Standard Noms
05-NOV-2002
http://www.playbill.com/cgi-bin/plb/news?cmd=show&code=113716
Academy Award winner Gwyneth Paltrow is among the nominees for this
year's Evening Standard Award for Best Actress. Paltrow is nominated
for her recent portrayal of Catherine in the Donmar Warehouse
production of Proof, David Auburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning play. The
London debut production — which also starred Richard Coyle, Ronald
Pickup and Sara Stewart — was directed by John Madden. Paltrow is
also scheduled to star in the film version of the play for Miramax
Films.
Paltrow's competition for the Evening Standard Award includes Clare
Higgins and Helen McCrory. Higgins portrayed Ursula in the National
Theatre's production of Vincent in Brixton, and McCrory received her
nomination for her role as Yelena in the Donmar Warehouse's
production of Uncle Vanya. That production is also responsible for
Sam Mendes' nomination as Best Director. Mendes is actually nominated
for his two farewell productions at the Donmar, Vanya and Twelfth
Night. His competition includes Tim Carroll, nominated for his
production of Twelfth Night at The Globe; and Dominic Cooke,
nominated for The Royal Court's mounting of Plasticine.
