Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”

Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.

Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

  Sony saves Rahman again!

  The audio of Mani Ratnam’s Ayutha Ezhuthu has been purchased by Sony audio saving Rahman from further blushes. The music launch will take place on March 14 in Chennai. Remember the Hindi version Yuva was sold for Rs 3 Crore to Venus, which also includes the Indian DVD rights. There were simply no takers for the Tamil audio at Mani’s and Rahman’s quoted price. So Sony has stepped in and purchased the audio for a rumoured rock bottom price! Last time Mani-Rahman combination Kannathil Muthamittal was purchased by Tips for Rs 80 Lakhs. But Tips had to wind up their Chennai operations after both the album and the film crashed. Similarly more than a year back when Sony debuted in Tamil with Kathal Virus, the audio bombed so badly that they had vowed never to make a comeback to Chennai. But as they are international promoters of A.R.Rahman and Bombay Dreams they were forced to save him from the embarrassment in his home turf. Meanwhile Rahman continues to be an icon overseas and last week at the city of Birmingham’s Symphony orchestra (CBSO) all the 2200 seats were sold out for the Rahman show! It was the largest ever non-white audience for a mainstream British orchestra.

  Yeah, I can't listen to the songs now. Initially it kept saying "Could not contact server". It's alright now. I can't comment much on the songs now. There is just tto much music and very little singing!!

  I attacked you personally? The maximum I have gone at newtfmpage is to project XML as stupid. I don't think I ever attacked anybody personally.
  With you, I don't think I have taken my arguements beyond "thundus" and "jowli kadais"! :-) And certainly, I have never used filthy language in here.

  im in luv with all d songs they just sound so different from the norm its awesome. cept for the nenjellam song that has a typical feel to it but the way its sung makes it stand out

  If I am wrong in my statements, come up with valid points to prove I am wrong. If there is nothing to prove, why don't just you leave them? You wrote so many silly stuff in TIS thread, did I ever say anything about them? I don't degrade myself and go for personal attacks. Even after your so many INFORMATIVE replies for my posts, I just ignore you. The simple reason for my postings is I don't like arr's music and I write about his performace, that's pretty much it.   And read TIS all over again, i never made any baseless accusations like you.
  I raised my points and they are yet to find an answer. But for the good interest i left TIS thread long back just for the reason i shouldn't hurt IR fans.

  Starst with a humming ....Jana gana Man line is sung in a very bad manner though it is fashinable ..Sounds a bit YSRish ..though different song ...8/10
  
  3.Sanda Kozhi -Madhushree ,ARR
  Differnt song ,on the lines of Meenaxi songs ....Sounds like a Hindi song ...nice different song ...a bit of rajasthani folk ....nice melody ....8.5/10

  starts wth a Loop beats ,like HJ ....i thought thsi will be another kama kama song torture ...the prelude is defintely atorture ,i would say ..sorry ARR fans ...i think ARR is expereminting too much for this song ...the Jazz like melody which comes is good ....7.5/10

  A big request for arr to stop using adnan ....his tamil pronunication is worst ...starts with a rangeela like song ..Sujatah has done very best ...Very diferent song ....SUre hit ,except adnan has destryoyed it with his pronunciation .Shankar Mahdevan /karthik shoudl have sung and i would have given 10/10 for this ..9 //10

  Starts witha Techno beats ...Superb song ,ARR has sung very well ..Like povekelam puttu song from BOMBAY ..good differnt song ....9/10
