The idea of creating a web site for P. Susheela evolved in the threads
'P. Susheela solos' and 'P. Susheela fans". After 6 months of efforts
from many PS fans, the site is ready for launch as a gift from all of us
on P. Susheela's birthday on Nov 13. The URL is

Your input in the form of feedback and any material such as photos,
artilces, and such is appreciated.


A small function has been arranged in Chennai on that day. Here are teh
details

Date: 13-11-2003
Venue: G.R.T. Grand Days(in b/t teynampet - Pondybazar)
Time: 11.00 a.m

Guests : Mellisai Mannargal M.S. Viswanathan and T.K. Ramamoorthy,
some other celebrities(not finalized)

  yes there is two version of maalai pozhuthin mayakkathile song. later one is a small bit for E.V.Saroja.
  I remeber, I heared the solo of thanimayile by PS. may be wrong.
  Nee enge from mannippu... doubt. one version is teaching and the other is after Nirmala's death . TMS version is different. The first tune was different from the second.

  Kalai, there are some more "same song different versions" of PS songs:
  
  1. Kaagitha Odam (the one version we all know and another that comes in the movie in the end)
  2. Pattaadai Thottil Katta (1 happy version for KRV and a small bit (which is happy, too) in the movie for Padmini.
  3. En kELvikkenna Bathil (one radio version and a little different movie version)
  4. Sondam EppOdhum Thodarkadhaidhaan ( 2 different happy versions)
  5. En Rajavin Roja Mugam ( the happy version that we are familiar with and a small sad verison that comes in the movie)
  6. Andru Vandhadhum idhe nila ( happy and pathos versions)

  about family songs, I am looking for a song with the group of family people. All the songs U have mentioned are correct. I dont know the situation of "vellikkizhami vidiyum vElai" .

  Good to see you mention about the 2 versions of Sondham Eppodhum Thodarkadhai Dhaan from Praptham. I remember spending a lot of time trying to convince people that there were two versions indeed. All efforts were in vain. Some of them concluded that my craze for old songs had eventually taken its toll. But just by chance I got this recorded at Stereo Vision. It was a pleasnat surprise to play the song and suddenly here the other two saranams.

  "Yaarukku maapillai yaaro" is only questions. other two can be put into this catagory..
  under "one song, two bhavam" catagory, we can add "naane varuven, angum ingum" from yaar nee ..
  pl. visit "psusheela.org" and check the versatility page under tamil. In that one more page is there under "emotions". pl. try to find out songs for each catagory.

  Similar to your seach of 2nd version of Sondham eppodhum, I had/have one. So far no one could trace it in spite of good effort. That song was "Kanden engum" from "Kaatrinile varum geetham".
  
  In "KVG" film, the heroine Kavitha acted in 3 different characters. The title song "Katrinileyyyyyy varum geetham" was supposedly recorded 3 times sung by 3 different singers (PS, VJ and SJ) for 3 different Kavitha's. IR had mentioned this in his interview with "Anandha vikatan" (one of the issues of 1978). Versions of VJ and SJ are available in net and in cassette but PS version is not traceable. IR mentioned that it was in a different tune singing for the Ghost character...
  
  I posted this in different threads also. But so far no luck :-( If you come across PS version, please do help me in getting the song in any form. Thanks in advance :-)
  
  Regarding happy and sad versions, I could get one more "Mannikka vendugiren" from Iru malargal. TMS & PS sing both versions. Another is "naan unnai azhaikkavillai" from Engirundho vandhaal. TMS version was full but PS's was with only a few lines. Do you remember this?

  Some corrections in the web page.
  In the Thamizh Solo Page, song no 149. Music director of the movie "Killinjalgal" was T.Rajendar, not Chandrabose. Actress for the "Chinna Chinna Kanna" song was Poornima Jayaraman.

  Song 152 : Lakshmi didn't act in billa. I guess it is the song from Pollathavan.
  
  158: I doubt it is chandrakantha. Was it not Rajasri who acted in Kalaikoyil?
  
  160 : Dhoori Dhoori was sung for Radhika.
  
  164 : Madhavi was heroine in Jai Vethalam.
  
  244 : Prabandha was sung for Devika in Saraswathi Sabathan, not for Savithri.
  
  250 : It was Alam who acted for "Inru Vandha Indha Mayakam" with sasikumar.
