why should'nt IR be called ''THE'' indian film music composer of the century

the only composer with incredible versatality,matchless in quality,i think he should be rated as ''THE'' indian film composer of the century.what do u feel guys?

  You can call him "An indian film music composer" but not "The indian film music composer"

  Oh please if you think ARR is even a patch on IR. ARR is a DJ who simply plays bits of other songs and calls them his own. IR is surely the greatest MD and composer in India!

  India is not Tamil Nadu only my dear friend.
  It consists of 35 states and UTs.
  
  At most, IR songs are heard in TN,Kerala,Andhra,Karnataka.
  
  And A.R.Rahman is the undisputed No.1 in Tamil Nadu and other south Indian states, and thats for every sensible person to see.
  Sales wise, his albums are light years ahead of other composers' albums.
  He has won ALL the Film Fare awards since he came to the scene in 1992. He has also won most State awards too.
  
  Coming back to your point ''THE'' indian film composer of the century"..
  
  You go to Himachal Pradesh or Assam or Punjab or Gujarat and ask someone about Ilayaraja, and they might at the best think that you are asking about tribal 'Raja'. :D)))
  
  Come on guys..dont act stupid and stopping living in an aquarium..Wake up to the reality.
  
  The music of A.R.Rahman is heard and liked by people all over India from North to South and East to West. No other musician can boast of such a record.
  There is one Lata Mangeshkar. No other music personality commands such popularity across the lenght and breadth of this country like ARR.

  Lets stop this fight and not drag ARR here.
  
  IR is certainly one of the best MD of all times in India. Now, you can't leave out Naushad or SDB, RDB or MSV for that matter. I am not comming to ARR at all. We know that on other MD in India has ever been so popular all over the land. May be its a begining. Many might follow him. So, IR is certainly one of the best and probably the Best in his own style of music composing.
  
  Now, if you ask me about BGMs then I might say that I have not seen anybody being so consistent with BGM delivery. He stands in top there. But, I also don't like him for the same reason where in many cases he just swallowed a scene and showed his jambam. That I don't like. AIMHO

  All the HCFIRs,
  
  IR is a great MD..BUT THERE are many others who are upto his level.... Naushad,Arr,Vijayabhaskar,MSV,KVM,G ramnathan, SDB,Salil Chowdhury,.... these people have NOT got their due recognition.
  
  The way IR fans go on touting him as infinitely better than anyone else .... is stupid and narrow-minded. The IR fans are not only blind, but also tone-deaf given the state of his music nowadays and all his self-created aura and hype.
  (I also wish they were totally speechless :-) )
  
  He WAS no doubt a genius. But today its over. Someone else has taken over. And that man is ARR and has his own specialities. When I had made this point early last year, all HCFIRs started calling me ugly names....
  
  The trademark feature of all these guys - assert and insist that something, which requires proof to be established as truth, is true --- just because they feel it that way.
